9. The Phone Calls

Lydia's P.O.V.

"Oh my gosh." I gasped when I logged in on twitter. Over 3,000 followers in one night. One of them happening to be Louis. Harry had texted me earlier today and told me to look at what Louis had done. All of this was over one picture? I hadn't even bothered to read the replies. I knew some of them weren't nice. So I wouldn't bother myself with that. I decided what other people thought of me was none of my business. I quickly grabbed my phone and texted Harry back.

       Holy crap! -L

I couldn't get over how unusual this was. A moment later, I felt my phone buzz on my lap. I glanced at the I.D. Lately, I had been getting calls from everyone, even people I didn't talk to. Just wanting to hang out with the boys. They didn't put it that way, though. It was more of "Hey, I know we haven't talked really ever, but maybe we should get together. You could introduce me to your boyfriend too. Ya know, if you have time." I could really see who my friends are.

The caller I.D. was not from England. I recognized it as an american number. I almost didn't answer it. I decided that whoever it was, I could handle it.

       "Hello?" I answered.

"Hey my favorite cousin in the whole wide world!" A voice said on the other line. Nicki.

"Nicki!" I shrieked, "I miss you!"

"I miss you too!" She shrieked back, "Meet any cute boys in that very huge school you're going to?" She said sarcastically.

"Like you don't know!" I joked back.

     "Know what?" She asked.

"Oh, come on!" I said, trying to get her to say it.

"I'm sorry, I really don't know." She said sincerely, "Tell me though!"

"Nah, that's ok. You'll find out soon enough." I smirked to myself.

"Well, you better tell me before I get there next week." She mumbled.

     "What?" I asked, shocked.

"Jessie didn't tell you?" She asked, "My mom and I are flying out there this Sunday. I'm gonna stay with you for a month while Jessie and my mom fly out to Japan for my mom's business trip."

"C-can you hang on a moment?" I said, muting the phone. I walked into the kitchen where Aunt Jessie was chopping some green onions.

    "Hey babe!" She greeted me.

"Why didn't you tell me Nicki was coming over?" I asked her.

"Damn," She muttered, putting down the knife, "She wasn't supposed to tell you. It was supposed to be a surprise. Well, Aunt Jennifer and I-

"Going to Japan, yeah I know," I waved her off, walking back into the front room, "Nicki? You still there?" I asked on the phone.

"Sorry I ruined the surprise!" She apologized.

"What? I thought I put you on mute!" I whined.

"Nope!" She popped the 'p', "Hey! You're suddenly popular!"

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

"Twitter! You got like 20 thousand something followers, and there's more every time I refresh it. What's up with that?" She asked.

"Wait for it," I mumbled to myself.

"What's going on, Lydia? Seriously..." She asked again.

"Wait for it." I repeated. Soon enough . . .

"OH MY GOSH!" She yelled through the phone.

    "Bingo!" I said back.

"Harry Styles?! How in the hell did you manage to even meet him?" She shrieked.

"Long story, I'll have to tell you when you get here." I heard a beeping from my phone. Probably a text from Harry, "Hey, I've gotta go." We said our farewells, and I checked the text.

    We need to talk. xH

Harry's P.O.V.

         Holy crap! -L

I laughed at her as I read her message. I could imagine her sitting in front of her laptop, with pure shock across her face. To be honest, I was surprised. She didn't get a lot of hate. A lot of people liked her, just like I did. That made me happier than ever. I love our fans with all my heart. I smiled to myself about to text her back, when I got a call.

    "Harry here!" I said.

"Hey Harry," Liam answered, "Listen, management called me. They said that they've been trying to reach you . . . ?" He trailed of into question.

"Uh, yeah." I scratched my head, "But just because I thought it was about Lydia. Why? What's up?"

"Well, they wanted me to let you know that we have to do kind of like a mini tour, around the European countries for about two weeks." He said.

"Ok!" I said enthusiastically, "I'll let Lydia know. When do I tell her to be ready by?"

"That's the thing, Harry," Liam said, "We aren't aloud to take anyone."

Ouch. "Oh," I said. I thanked Liam and hung up the phone. Two weeks? What am I going to do? With these mini tours, I barely have enough time to sleep, let alone stay up and talk to her over the phone. I was going to miss her a lot. I quickly sent her a text letting her know we needed to talk. No more than a minute later she texted me back.

Me too. Want to come over? -L

    On my way. xH

I quickly got into my car, and headed over to her flat. I walked up to her door, and knocked. It wasn't too long before Jessie answered the door.

"Hello Harry! Come in! Come in!" She said, ushering me in. I thanked her and waited in the front room for Lydia to come down. She came down wearing sweat pants and a sweatshirt. She had her long chocolate hair thrown carelessly into a bun on the top of her head. She had her headphones in and her phone in her hand. She was gorges.

"Give me reasons to believe that you would do the same for me. Cuz I would do it fooor yoooou!" She sang, as she walked down the stairs. Her voice was so lovely. Sometimes when we were younger, she would play guitar for me, and I would sing. She didn't know it, but I heard her quietly sing along. She was just as good as I was, if not better. It always made my day. She stopped singing as soon as she saw me, and blushed.

"I didn't think you'd get here so fast," She said walking back up the stairs, "Let me go change really quick-

"No!" I interrupted her. I raced up the stairs and caught her by the waist, "Don't change. I think you look beautiful," She turned around and wrapped her arms around my neck, "But can we PLEASE talk about your voice?!"

"Oh, don't even!" She let go of me and walked into her room. I followed and lied down on her bed. She sat down at the end of her bed, facing me, "What did you wanna talk about?"

    "You first!" I hesitated.

"Okay," She said suspiciously, "In a week, my cousin is coming down to stay with me for a month while my two aunts go to Japan."She sounded excited. Yikes.

"That's great!" I enthused, "Uh, my turn." I said awkwardly, "We have to leave for two weeks." I sighed.

"Oh," She said. She wasn't too thrilled about the idea either, "When do you leave?"

"Tomorrow," I responded, looking up at the ceiling.

"Oh," She said again. After that she was silent. I grabbed her by the arm and pulled her down, so she was lying her head on my chest. We spent the rest of the day in that position before I had to go pack. How was I ever going to get through this?
