4. The Morning After

Harry’s P.O.V.

The light peaked through the blue curtains, causing me to wake. It took me a while to adjust to my surroundings and realize where I was. Then I remembered; I was at Lydia’s. I started to get up when I saw that Dee had fallen asleep on my chest. She was so cute when she slept. Her hair was pushed off of her pale face just enough so you could see her tiny light brown freckles on her nose.  I watched as her eyes started to flutter open.

“Morning.” I whispered then kissed her forehead. She smiled back at me, then suddenly her eyes got wide. She quickly lifted up the blanket, and let out a relieved sigh.

“We didn’t have sex.” I laughed. She laughed too and got up.

“Did Jessie ever come home?” She asked.

“I don’t know.” I sat up, and checked my phone. 5 missed phone calls from my mother. Great. She had also sent me a few texts. I dialed her number not even wanting to open the angry messages.

“Harry?” My mum shrieked at the other end of the line.

            “H-hey Mum.” I said.

“Where were you?! Why didn’t you call?! What happened?!” My mum began firing questions at me.

“Mum, I’m okay,” I interrupted, “I had just gone over to Lydia’s so we could catch up. I guess I fell asleep watching films. I’m sorry Mum.”

“I guess that’s fine,” My mom muttered, “But you need to let me know where you are going next time!”

            “I will!” I promised.

We said our goodbyes, and hung up the phone. I turned around and realized Dee wasn’t there. I walked into the kitchen, she wasn’t there either. I checked the washroom behind the stairs. It was empty.

“Dee?” I called. I waited for a reply, but no answer, “Lydia?” I called again, my voice more urgent.

“Up here!” A faint voice yelled back. Soon enough, she was walking down the stairs to me, “Jessie’s not here.” She frowned, “She stayed at your house after the party. She was too drunk to drive and didn’t want to get in a cab, so she stayed.”

“Oh, okay.” I shrugged, “It looks like we have time to spare. What do you want to do today.”

“Shower.” She quickly replied.

“Ok, but I think your shower is a bit small for the both of us.” I winked.

“Oh my gosh, you’re so cheeky.” She laughed, getting off the couch, and heading up stairs.

Lydia’s P.O.V.

Oh my gosh. Did last night really happen? I thought to myself. I had waited for something like this for a very long time. Now that it happened, I was scared that it was too good to be true. I shook my head. Harry isn't the type of guy who would leave like nothing happened. In fact, he had asked to do something with me today. That had to mean that he was still into me.

I turned off the water and started drying myself off. Every little thing about him was running through my mind. His hair, his smile, his dimples, but mostly his eyes. That was his best feature. Sure, his laugh might have reeled me in, but those deep green eyes got me hooked. As soon as I started getting dressed, there was a knock at my door.

            “Yes?” I called out.

“Hey, I have to run home and get a change of clothes.” Harry said from the other side of the door.

“Okay.” I said, trying not to sound disappointed.

“I’ll text you when I’m done and we can go do something.” He said.

            “Alright.” I replied.

At least we still had plans. I stared at myself in the mirror. I was wearing denim jeans with a baby blue with white polka-dots transparent button-up shirt. I went to my closet and grabbed a pair of white heels. As I put them on, I looked back at my reflection. The first thing I thought of was my hair. It was a mess. I wanted it to dry naturally, but it didn’t look like that was going to happen anytime soon. I decided I would blow dry it just enough so I could let it dry until Harry picked me up. After blow drying my hair, I went to do my makeup. I put on just  a little foundation and some mascara. I never bothered adding blush. In fact, I had never even owned it. My cheeks were naturally pink, so I just left it at that.

I walked down stairs and grabbed my phone from the arm of the couch. It had one new message. The contact I.D. read “Sexy Beast(;”. I stared at the contact for a moment. I didn’t recall adding a contact with that I.D. I didn’t recognize the number either. I decided to just open the message.

Hey Babe, I’m ready when you are! xH

            It was Harry.

I’m ready. Nice contact I.D. by the way. –L

I didn’t think you would want lies on your phone. You see, you would have put me as ‘Harry’ but I am not just Harry. Sorry, I just had to tell the truth(; xH

Oh whatever! Anyway, where are we going? –L

You’ll see(; I’m on my way. xH

To be truthful, I was nervous about Harry taking me out. I was nervous about what he thought about us. What if this turned out just to be a friend thing? What if those things he said last night was the alcohol talking?

My head ran through all of the worst possibilities when there was a knock at my door. I opened the door to see Harry with a bouquet of flowers. But not just any flowers. Roses. Red roses.

"Wow," Harry stared, "You look amazing."

"You don't look too bad yourself," I winked. He handed over the roses and I quickly took a deep breath in through my nose, inhaling the sweet scent, "These are lovely. Thank you."

"Anything for you," Harry replied, "Are you ready?" He gestured for me to walk out the door.

         "Yep." I lied.
