3. The Long And Awaited

Lydia’s P.O.V.

“Tea?” I offered as I walked towards the kitchen.

“No thank you.” Harry politely declined, taking a seat on the couch. I turned around, and headed in his direction.

“Alright, go ahead,” I said sitting next to him, “Explain.”

Harry took a deep breath, “The first month on tour, I went through this horrible homesick phase. All I wanted was to be with my family, friends, you. And I really did think that if I cut off ties with friends, it would be a whole lot easier.”

“Harry, we were best friends!” I practically yelled, “I don’t know if that means anything to you or not, but I meant a hell of a lot to me.”

“That’s the point.” Harry said, running his hands through his hair, “One day before I was supposed to leave on tour, I wanted to surprise you in your room, and take you out. It was the last time I would have been able to see you.” Harry grabbed his hands, nervously, “I found a note on your bed. And it was addressed to me.”

“You read that?” I asked, quietly.

Harry nodded. “I was surprised. I would have never thought you had feelings for me like that. I left before you got there, and the next day, I went on tour.”

“You ignored me because I liked you?” I asked.

“No!” Harry stood up, frustrated, “I ignored you because I liked you too. I had liked you for a while. But I knew I had to focus on One Direction at the time, and not having any contact with you seemed like it would help.”

I sat there quietly for a moment, “Did it help?”

“Of course not!” Harry threw his hands in the air, “All I could think about, all I could talk about, was you. The boys know WAY more about you than they should.”

I nodded, but kept silent. He looked over at me, surprised at my silence. He sat down next to me, and grabbed my hands.

“Look,” He started, “I am so sorry, and I promise never to ignore you again. I will keep in contact with you on a daily basis, I swear.” I just nodded. He let go of my hands, and stood up, “Damn it! Will you please tell me what you’re thinking?!”

“I’m just surprised, that’s all.” I said, still quiet, “I would have never thought . . .,” I let myself trail off, “Do you still have those feelings towards me?”

“I didn’t,” Harry said, walking towards me, “Or at least I thought I didn’t. But I saw you tonight, so stunning. I guess feelings came back and so, yes. Yes, I do still have feelings for you.” He peaked at my reaction, but I just nodded, “How about you?” He asked.

“Harry, you were my only friend. You were the only one and still the only one who can make everything horrible in one second, yet completely better in another.” I lifted my hand up and played with his curls, “Of course I still like you.”

Harry beamed and kissed my forehead, “Then do you mind if I stay for a while?”

“Not at all.” I smiled. He leaned back on the sofa, pulling me with him. He draped his arm around me and grabbed the remote. He pressed play and set it down.

“Back to the future?” Harry raised an eyebrow.

            “It’s a good movie!” I reasoned.

“But it’s so old!” Harry whined.

“When have you EVER had a problem with old?” I nudged his arm.

“Oh shut up!” Harry laughed. He grabbed a pillow and playfully hit me with it. I jumped up, and grabbed another one and smacked him back. Soon the couch was covered in pillows, and the movie was being completely ignored. We were finally tired out and lied down next to each other, breathing heavily. He turned his head over to me and I turned back and smiled at him. His smile was suddenly gone. He sat up and pulled me with him.

“Harry?” I asked. He was staring at me with his mouth slightly opened. He grabbed my chin and pulled me into a kiss. The kiss sent sparks flying everywhere throughout my body. Our mouths moved in harmony with one another. Automatically my hands reached up and tangled themselves in his curly locks. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close to him. It was a full two minutes before we pulled away. I was out of breath and literally speechless. Harry just smiled, while looking at me.

“You have no idea how long I've been waiting to do that.” He whispered, moving a piece of hair out of my face.
