18. Chapter 18: Visitors

I watched as a carriage rode into the yard. It was fancy. It was turquoise and gold. It had the royal mark on one of the doors. Cameron stood next to me. It must be my grandparents. Two people got out of the carriage. They didn't look that old. We don't age like regular people.

The woman was wearing a blue dress. The man wore a nice suit. I figured that I should walk over to them. Cameron and I made our way over to them. My mom never talked about them. They probably didn't get along very well.

The lady didn't smile when she saw me, neither did the man. "I'm sure you know why we're here." The lady said. I nodded my head. "You will be moving into the royal castle tomorrow afternoon." Is she always going to be this uptight?

"Has your mother told you about us?" The man asked. I shook my head. I was afraid I'd say something stupid if I opened my mouth. He sighed. "Well, this is Isabella and I'm Benjamin. We're your grandparents."

"It's nice to meet you two." I said. I could tell that Benjamin wasn't as uptight like Isabella.

"It's nice to meet you, Zee." He said, smiling. I smiled back.

"Your mother should've told you." Isabella said, her voice was bitter. I bit my lip. Cameron gave my hand a reassuring squeeze. "Is this your mate?" She asked, looking at Cameron.

"Yes, he is." I answered. I was starting to feel even more nervous.

"He appears to be better than your no good father." Isabella said. I shut my eyes. I felt anger boiling through my body. Control yourself, Zee! I said to myself.

"Darling, she's just lost her father." Benjamin said to Isabella. Isabella looked over at me.

"Do you think she'll be able to rule?" I heard Isabella ask Benjamin. Cameron tensed. He was starting to get angry.

"Cameron it's fine." I told him. He relaxed a little bit. They finished talking.

"A carriage will be here at noon to pick you two up. I can't wait to show you two around! I'm sure you'll love it." Benjamin said. "Goodbye for now." They got into the carriage. I watched it disappear down the road.

"She's rude!" Cameron said. "You're her granddaughter, she shouldn't treat you like that."

"Cameron it's fine, calm down." I said. He relaxed and looked at me.

"I'm sorry, Zee." He said. I shook my head.

"Don't be sorry. It's fine." I said as we walked back into our house. "I guess we should start packing." Cameron nodded his head.
