14. Chapter 14: Yes or No?

"Are you excited for tonight?" Cameron asked me. I rolled my eyes.

"I don't know, you won't tell me where we're going." I complained. He just smirked. "Why won't you tell me?" I asked him.

"I want it to be a surprise." He smirked. He knew I hated surprises. I hated them because I didn't know what was going on. I hated not knowing what was happening. "It is your birthday after all." He added. I groaned. He wasn't going to tell me.

"Yeah, I know it is." I said. I'm eighteen now. I never understood why people make such a big deal about birthday's, you're just turning a different age. I sat down on the bed. Cameron walked over to me. He leaned down causing our lips to brush. I wanted him to kiss me. I leaned in, closing the distance.

We pulled away. I laid on the bed. Cameron got on top of me. He brought his lips back to mine. He moved down to my neck, in between my shoulder and neck. I knew that he wanted to mark me, but I didn't want that yet. I pushed him off of me.

I got back to a sitting position. He did too. "Why won't you let me mark you?" He asked. I shrugged my shoulders.

"I guess I just feel like the time isn't right. The Nightwalkers Pack could show up at any moment. I could be taken away at any moment." I sighed. "I'll let you mark me after all of this stuff is over with." He smiled and pecked me on the lips.

"Okay." He said, getting up from the bed. "You need to start getting ready for our date." I nodded my head. I got up too. Cameron left the room, giving me some privacy. I looked in the closet for something I could wear. I already moved all of my clothes in here. I finally found a white dress. My mom had bought it for me, but I was never really into wearing dresses, so I never wore it. Tonight seems like the perfect occasion to wear it.

It had embellishments at the sweet heart neckline, and around the waist. It went to about my lower thigh. It was a beautiful dress. I put it on. I grabbed a pair of metallic heels. I finished my hair and makeup.

I carefully walked down the stairs. I've only worn heels one time before this. I'm used to wearing sneakers or boots. Cameron was standing at the bottom of the stairs, waiting for me. He gave me a weak smile. He was staring me up and down. I hope I look alright.

I reached the bottom and he gave me his hand.

"You look absolutely beautiful, Zee." He said, causing me to blush. He kissed my cheek. We got to his car and got in.

"Are you going to tell me where we're going?" I asked again. He's not going to tell me, but at least I tried. He shook his head. I knew it.

"We're almost there." He said. Yeah, that tells me a lot! I nodded my head. I just wanted to know where we are going.

He parked the car outside of an Italian restaurant. I remember going here with him before. We were younger. We ate here with our families.

We got out of the car and took our seats. I noticed that Cameron looked nervous.

"Are you okay?" I asked, setting down my menu. He nodded his head. I shook my head and looked down at the menu. I decided on Alfredo. We ordered.

"I'm glad it's not raining." Cameron said. I nodded my head. It was actually a really nice day. "Do you think you'll ever want to get married?" Cameron asked me.

"Well, yeah, but not until I'm older." I said. I don't really get the point of marriage. Why do you need a fancy ceremony to show you want to spend forever with this person? I just don't get it.

"Oh," Cameron said. He looked down at the table. I know that he wants to get married, but I don't want to yet. I'm not ready for that. Will you ever be ready? My mind taunted. Shut up!

"I could always change my mind." I said, trying to cheer him up. It didn't seem to work. I ruin everything. Our food came and we ate.

We talked about everything. We joked around with each other. I'm glad that earlier question didn't ruin our night. We finished eating. Cameron got up, looking really nervous.

He put his hand in his right pocket and took out a velvet box. My heart started to beat faster. He got down on one knee and opened the velvet box, showing the most beautiful ring I've ever saw.

"I know that you said you didn't want to get married, but we don't have to get married right away. I just want people to know how much I love you. A ring won't show that, but it might help. I love you more than you will ever know. I always have. Will you do me the honors and marry me, Zee?" He said. My heart was beating fast. People around the restaurant were smiling. There were also people who were looking disapprovingly at us because they thought we were 'too young'.

I couldn't form words. He was patiently waiting. I love Cameron so much. Spending forever with him sounds pretty nice. Since I couldn't form words I just nodded my head. He smiled and slid the ring on my ring finger. He smashed his lips onto mine. I pulled away. Tears were rolling down my face. I wasn't sad. I was beyond happy. I didn't want to get married anytime soon especially since the Nightwalkers Pack is after me. Cameron wiped away my tears.

"I love you so much, Zee." Cameron said, resting his forehead on mine.

"I love you so much, Cameron." I said, mimicking his words. What I said was true. I'll always love him and nothing can change that.
