The Missing Piece

Kiley's bestfriend since Kindergarten recently found out about his real father. Just like any child who didn't have a father growing up, he wanted to know more about him with Kiley's help.
A year has passed with countless questions that just got rejected and information that was just useless until one day when Noah and Kiley were about to give up, They both found his birth certificate and Noah finds out who his father is. He then goes on Facebook and searches for the last name until he finds somebody that he believes he may be related to. So he sends the message to them and receive a pleasant surprise.

2. Chapter One- The Message

The Message. We both stared at it. That was it. That was what Noah has been searching for almost his entire life!
I remember him telling me that he didn't knew who his real father was and now that paper has the name to his father. His real father. I sorta feel bad for him because every time he asked his mother who his father was she told him no one special.

That guy must of done something terrible for her to say no one special. Or maybe he just plain out didn't want Noah which I couldn't see why because he's special. Anyone would be crazy to not like him or even want him. All these years and he never once saw his father.

"Maybe this isn't a good idea." I said as I pity Noah.

"What? No! I have to find my father! I just have to!" I watched his eyes going from calm and peaceful just by staring at that piece of paper to angry and tearful in a matter of seconds.

"I just don't want you to get hurt. That's all." I patted Noah on the back and gave him sorrow eyes.

He's my best friend since Kindergarten. I've known him for nearly a life time. All throughout the days we've been in school. Almost twelve years.

The days were Noah would ware his olive green sweater that had a picture of a dog and that dog would bark if you hit the button on the sweater.
He would be chasing me around the playground getting his golden light brown hair all over his face. I remember when he got kick in the balls by me. How his sparking hazel eyes were perfectly fine until I kick him in that one spot and his eyes were filled with tears.

We're both seniors now and it's scary to think that in about a couple months we will graduate and be in collage. I'm not sure if I'm ready for that. That's a huge responsibility being a grown up. I see people struggle and with today economy you see people living in the streets that shouldn't be.

I'm not saying homeless people should be living in the streets but the people who do work aren't getting enough money so they're force to go out into the streets with small children or their families.

I wish I could help them. I really do.

"Kiley, I have to take the chance. I have to figure out who my real father is! With your help or not, I'm going to find my real father if its the last thing I'll do."

Noah. Oh Noah. Nothing has change a bit now that you're nearly eighteen. You just never give up and that's one of the many things I love about you.

I took a deep breathe. Kiley stay calm. Noah won't get hurt and if he does than its time to punch people in the face. Not literally. I'm not strong and throwing a punch would be useless in this situation.

"I'm here for you and you damn well know that. I've seen this happen multiple times before and almost half of the kids ended up getting hurt. I'm just warning you something's just don't have a happy ending." I lectured him so I really know if he still wants to go threw with this. Which knowing Noah he does.

"I know, I know. It's just it's my dad you know. I just want to meet him or even hear a story about him. I don't care if its good or bad, I just want to hear about him and I'm going to one way or another. I'm certainly not going to hear from my mother so now it's my fathers turn." Noah said proudly.

He was really going through with this like I knew he would.

" Amy, mom." I said to Noah's mother. I liked to call her mom because I was always over and vise versa. "Just tell him. You don't have to tell me but don't you think he deserves to know who his real father is?" I questioned.

"Like I said before no. That man is nobody important and nor he will ever be." She said harshly.

She soften her eyes a little. "Its just I don't want him to leave." Her eyes getting teary eyed. "I just don't want him to leave." She repeated again.

"Kiley come over please." Noah begged over the phone. "I need your help!"

Even though we were in different places, I could see his puppy eyes begging for me to say yes. I huffed and got up from my king size bed and out of my bedroom and into the office where my mother was working. "Let me ask."

I walked into the very neat sky blue walled office where my mother was at. She was working on some huge project for her work.

If you were wondering, my mother works for Saint Jones Hospital. She's a pediatric nurse. See her boss has the whole staff working on some mystery disease that they can't figure out. So he made everyone look to see if there's anything missing that they missed.

I knocked on the door loud enough for her to hear so I could talk to her. "Mom, Noah is wondering if I could go over. So may I?" I asked.

She pick up her head out of her papers to look at me. "What would you be doing?" She asked this time.

"What we normally do."

"And that is?" She ask nodding her head for me to keep going.

"Hanging out and no we are not having sex or any of that grossness." I stated.

"I'm assuming you will be spending the night?"

"I wasn't planning on it but sure." I knew what she was going by this. She needs to work and so she's kicking me out for the night so she can get her work done.

Now I know what you're probably thinking. Why is your mom letting you spending the night at some dudes house? See, Amy, Noah's mom, is my moms best friend. When five year old Noah wasn't feeling good he went to the hospital and my mom happened to be his nurse. One thing lead to another and BAM they were friends. The point I'm getting at is that they trust us so its not like we do anything wrong or they wouldn't allow this. Also they know we're friends and if we weren't then we wouldn't be allowed to spend the night at each others houses. Which would suck because we throw the most awesome pillow fights the world may know.

She smiled and went back to her work. I walked out of the office and went to go dial Noah's number when I heard somebody talking.

"Hanging out and no we're not having sex or any of that gross stuff." Noah mocked me. I forgot to hang up. I should have known because he tends to listen to other peoples conversations. I am such a forgetful person.

"Well it looks like I don't need to tell you that I'm allowed over."

"See you in ten cupcake." Noah sweet voice came through on the other line then I heard the beep button signaling that he was no longer on the phone. Well it looks like I'll be spending the night that that kiddos house.

I ran upstairs into the pink filled room that is other wise known as my room. With my pink walls filled with pictures of me, my friends and Noah, I had some posters of quotes and Justin Bieber. I walked to my closet and grabbed a light blue aero bag that would fit all the stuff I need for tonight like my tooth brush, clothes, phone charger, some money, my makeup, hair brush and my Leo and Stitch blanket and stuff animal. What? I love Stitch!

I grabbed the clothes I needed and put on some shoes. I check the clock 4:57. I was debating on eating here or eating dinner at Noah's house. I decided on Noah's. I grabbed my car keys and was on my way to Noah's.

Do you know what I hate besides annoying pages on Facebook? Stop signs that are hidden. I just about saw that sign. Good thing I saw the sign at the last minute.

I was less than a minute away from his house when I saw my good friend Chirs. I liked to call him Christopher because it sounded more fancy like and the fact that he hated the reason I call him Christopher.  I honked my car horn which he return with a wave that meant hello. I smiled and he mouth the words 'Tell your boyfriend I said hello.' In return he calls Noah my boyfriend which I hate oh so dearly because can't two people from the opposite sex be friends without anybody thinking that we're dating. Ha no. Apparently not in this world.

When I got to Noah's I barged through the door and went to Noah's room to find him on his laptop. "Ello mate." I tried my best to do an Australian accent which epically failed.

"I think I found someone on my fathers side of the family." He said nervously to me without looking up from the computer screen.

"Well what are you waiting for? Message them and ask!" I tried my best to smile remembering Amy and I conversation.

"I did but I didn't send it yet." His voice sounded hesitant.

"You want me to read it don't you."

"Do you mind?" He asked.

"Not at all." I smiled at him.

Hi I'm Noah. Do you by any chance related to Tom Hulme? If so then I'm his son. If you are not related and don't know him, then sorry I took up your time. :b

"Sent." I said as I hit the sent button.

"What? Why'd you do that for?" He asked ticked off and scared.

"Because if I haven't you wouldn't have sent it. Listen you want to know who your father is and now this is a chance to figure it out. I'm doing this because I care about you and you would have beaten yourself up. Now we can go talk about this another time because right now its time for a pillow fight."

Noah's face brighten up and he mumbled the words thanks.
