Werewolf and Mermaid at Hogwarts

A mermaid and a werewolf at a school of magic. It sounds kind of... crazy, right? Well, I can assure you, this story is perfectly normal...
If you consider 'normal' being: the mermaid and werewolf becoming friends, meeting the Boy-Who-Lived, facing a horrid person, and finding out their even more different than you could imagine.
...Okay, maybe it isn't so normal...

6. The Leaky Cauldron (Kayla)

The boy, the man (whose names I learned were Harry and Hagrid) and I were heading down a street, which lead to a place where we were supposed to get our supplies.
I looked over the list again.

I took about ten minutes for me to read the entire thing. I heard Harry and Hagrid talking at some points, but I focused mainly on the school supplies, trying to improve my speed.
"This is it," I heard Hagrid say. I looked up and saw...
   A run down shop.
"the Leaky Cauldron. It's a famous place."
"And yet it can't get enough pay to repair itself." I muttered to myself.
Hagrid had us inside before I could even think anything else.
There were only a few people inside, and I think the inside was worse than the outside. I mean, seriously? A famous place that looks like this?
Everyone in the pub was quieting down. They all seemed to know Hagrid, he must come here often...
The bartender reached for a glass, and asked, "The usual, Hagrid?"
"Can't, Tom, I'm on Hogwarts business." Hagrid replied while putting each hand on one of Harry and my shoulders.
Tom the bartender started to stare at Harry and his eyes widened.
"Good Lord," he started, "is this- can it be..."
The Leaky Cauldron went completely quiet.
"Bless my soul... Harry Potter... what an honor..."
He ran around the bar to go shake Harry's hand, tears in his eyes.
"Welcome back, mister Potter, welcome back..."
Next thing you know, Harry's hand was being shaken by everyone in the bar. I was smiling with Hagrid in the corner, and snorted a little whenever someone did something a little overdramatic ("HE REMEMBERS ME!!!")
"Three up... two across..." Hagrid muttered. "Right, stand back, Harry, Kayla."
Hagrid tapped a brick three times with his pink umbrella.
The brick he touched started to quiver and wriggle. Then, in the middle, a small hole appeared. It started to grow...

Then a full archway was in front of us in a second.
"Welcome," said Hagrid, "To Diagon Alley!"
