Everything was totally silent. Absolutely silent. Nobody spoke. Nobody moved. Silence was the only thing that filled the room.

Until Carrie Ryan screamed her face off. ''I HATE YOU CATARINA DOUGLAS!'' Todays lunch casserole went all over her new designer clothes.

I just shrugged. The cafeteria bursted into hoots of laughter. Carrie's face went as red as a tomato. Casserole was through her 'luscious' blonde hair and all over her school uniform. She stormed out of the cafeteria with Bonnie Clyde, her best friend. The school was cheering me. I stood on a table and took a bow.

"Thank you everybody!" I said while waving.

I was having a great time until my name was called over the intercom. I gave a final wave before leaving to go to Mr. Wilson's office. Mr. Wilson is the principle and he's actually really nice. Well sometimes. He has a love interest in Miss. Cambridge. Well, that's what I think anyways. Miss Cambridge is really mean on the other hand. I bet they both make out when it's lunch time. The principle motioned me to sit in one of the two chairs that were placed in front of his desk. The seats were really uncomfortable but y'know I have to get used to it.

"Catarina Douglas there was no need-"

"Its Cat.'' I correct.

"Cat Douglas there was no need to make a lunch-throwing machine and use it to throw perfectly fine food at other students." Mr Wilson continued.

Yeah, I built a lunch throwing machine. It took me ages but it was so worth it. When I moved to England around three weeks ago, I was praying so hard they'll let me keep it and bring it on the plane. They actually did. My two best friends Kelsey and Luke helped me make the master machine.

"Well we are enemies if you haven't realised," I say, raising an eyebrow.

"No sarcasm please," Mr Wilson said. "I know that you and Carrie aren't the best of friends but that was totally inappropriate. I have no choice but to suspend you for 3 days. The orphanage will be called and you'll be picked up. See you on Tuesday, Miss Douglas."

Meh, doesn't bother me. I've been suspended 5 times if you include now. It's not my fault that yesterday she tipped pencil sharpening's in my hair and then tripped me in pouring rain. Mr Wilson sent me to the lockers so I went to the lockers and grabbed my bag and waited for Lydia in the office.

When Lydia arrived at the school, anger was only plastered on her face. Being at a new school, in a new country, and then getting suspended within two weeks of being enrolled there, is not a very good way to get a good reputation.

Lydia drove us all they way home- I mean the orphanage, and she marched me up to my new room and then locked the door. I could tell that she walked down the stairs because I could the clicking of her ridiculously high heels.

"Cat, you are locked in your room until the special guests come," Lydia exclaimed through the stupid intercom.

Huh? What did she mean? There better not be anyone coming over tonight.

"Just make yourself look presentable. Wear the nicest things you have." Lydia finished.

 ----HARRYS POV----

The boys and I are on our way to the orphanage. Simon wants us to pick up our acts and make our image better so we decided to adopt a child. We know it's a big responsibility, but we're willing to take the challenge. I was driving and Niall was in shotgun, with Liam, Zayn and Louis in the back.

This orphanage knows we are coming and we are going to adopt a girl and that whatever age we decide. We all decide that we'll go with the girl with the best persona and not judge on their looks. That's when everybody agreed on so we went through with the idea.

I parked the car down in the car park and the boys and I walked into the orphanage. It kinda looked old and rickety, like how you'd expect an old creepy house to look in the movies. It had a worn sign that read Lydia's Loving Orphanage. Ok, Lydia, this place looks very loving to me.

Just as we reached the front door, it swung open and a women with dyed red and blonde hair greeted us. "Hi I'm Lydia and I'm the owner of this place. You must be One Direction and ready to adopt a girl am I right?" Lydia smiled. This woman had a hell of a lot of make up on.

A lot.

"Yeah I guess we are." Zayn smiled.

Lydia walked us into the place and showed us around, giving us a tour of everything. After that, she walked over to some intercom and announced that all girls from ages 5-16 to be seated in the hall. We were seated in a small room . It had a desk, some file cabinets and on either side of the desk we some chairs. We waited for a while and a girl came in. She had black curly hair and hazel eyes. Her name was Alex.

Alex seemed nice enough, good enough but not perfect and all of us boys agreed that we'd wait until we found the girl that was prefect for our lifestyle. Alex had all the right answers to the questions and she seemed like she'd fit in.

But we had to wait.

Another girl came in and she was about seven. Her name was Valentina. She had a slight Italian accent and she had the classic dark skin, dark eyes and dark hair. Valentina was very cute but she didn't talk much and she lacked personality.

For what seemed like ages, finally the last girl came in. Her name was Catarina M. Douglas. I wondered what they 'M' stood for. Maddison? Marie? Michelle? It could stand for anything. Catarina was wearing a beige three quarter length sleeve and some black velvet wedges. Catarina looked lovely like that and she wore her makeup light, unlike the other girls who caked it on. She had blonde hair, blue eyes and had black bands fixed onto her braces.

"Hey." She smiled as she took a seat on the chair that was in front of the table in the 'interviewing room.'

"Hey Catarina, I'm Ha-"

"It's Cat. Please don't call me Catarina." Cat interrupted me when I was about to introduce her. Cat looked quite similar to a girl I've seen on a dancing show. I can't remember her name but they look alike.

"Oh ok sorry." I apologised. "I'm Harry, this is Louis, Niall, Zayn and Liam. We are here to ask you questions." I told her and she nodded. I know it seems weird just saying that but that's what we were told to say.

"So what is your favourite animal?" Liam asked.

"Umm..a...I have no clue sorry guys."

"Favourite food?"

After heaps of questions were asked, Cat left and I was really happy to adopt her. She had the personality, she was happy with he lifestyle and plus, she had that little spot of uniqueness in her. All the boys agreed that we should adopt her, as long as it's ok Lydia.

 ----CATS POV----

I so do not want them to adopt me. Why did I even have to be interviewed by them stupid people. They probably won't even let me do anything. They'd probably lock me up in my room all day and all night. They'd probably send me food in a dumb waiter. They'd probably give me the foods I hate most. They'd probably party all night and make me do all the chores. They'd probably make me clean up their-

Ok, now I'm being ridiculous. But c'mon it is One Direction.

Although this place was a dump, I still didn't want to live with them boys. But if I want to get outta here, that's the only way. I bet they've picked Alex or Missy or somebody like that. Maybe even dopey Valentina over me. Alex has the best persona and you could never get bored with her. Missy is so pretty and has the best singing voice ever. Yes, I can sing, I have a voice but I'm not that good.

Footsteps came up to the room and Lydia popped here head in. She never knocks and it's really annoying. I could've been naked for all she knew and she would've just popped her big ol' head in. But I already changed into some comfy leggings and an old Scooby Doo tee with the gang. Lydia opened the door wider and One Direction were standing there with her. Lydia was probably going to tell me that I was not going to be adopted.

"These boys wanted to adopt you.''

Those six words shocked me.
