Allie Jensen was your average cheerleader. She was blond, blue eyed, and despite her stereotype of being dumb, she was actually smart. He eventually reveals his secret to Allie, knowing that she would be in danger. To him, she is the only girl he could trust. Her friends tell her that he is bad news, but Allie doesn't listen to them and continues to fall for the guy even more. Unlike some people, Allie found the good in him.

13. Undone

Graduation day had finally come and everyone was excited to leave. Allie sighed, looking at herself in the mirror. She had put on her black graduation cap and gown. “Have you talked to Ethan?” Laila asked after the ceremony was finished. Allie was waiting for Charlotte and Olivia to show up. “I haven’t talked to him in the last two years.” Allie answered, checking her phone again. No text messages, no calls. She was getting really worried.

“Hey beautiful ladies.” Lukas walked up to the girls, giving them both hugs and a kiss on the lips for Laila. Over the course of two years, Allie and Lukas had broken up after being together for six months. Eventually, Allie had persuaded Lukas to ask Laila out because he was nervous. She told him that he had no reason to be because he and Laila were good friends.

“Who are you waiting for?” Lukas asked, wrapping an arm around Laila. “We’re waiting for Charlotte and Olivia.” Laila replied while Allie continued to search for Charlotte’s car. Rae and Colton walked up to the three of them, hand in hand. Allie was surprised they were still together, even after the cheating incident.

Rae and Colton proved that they could get through anything together. Allie wished that she and Ethan were that way. She just wondered what Ethan was up to. “Where are your two friends? They’re taking forever.” Rae said.

Charlotte was treating everybody to dinner, but Allie thought it was going to be just the three of them. “They’ll be here soon.” Allie said and began to call Charlotte to confirm that they’d be arriving within a few minutes. Finally a car drove up, but Allie knew that it wasn’t Charlotte’s car. It was Ethan’s.

Allie glanced over at Laila for moral support. Ethan parked his car and got out, approaching the group of former friends and girlfriend. “Well, if it isn’t bad boy Ethan. It’s about time you showed up.” Rae smirked. Ethan rolled his eyes as he stopped before them.

Allie saw that Ethan hadn’t changed in the last two years. “Are you a good girl now Rae?” Ethan asked with a smirk. Allie let Ethan talk with his former friends and continued to stay silent. Another car parked in the lot as two girls got out. Allie could now finally breathe as she walked up to her friends. “Allie!” Charlotte and Olivia both squealed, giving Allie a hug. Allie hugged her friends, squeezing them tightly.

“We can finally catch up.” Olivia smiled as the girls pulled away.

“Speaking of catching up, I have great news to tell you.” Charlotte smiled. Allie glanced at Olivia, knowing that she would know about the news that Charlotte had. “How about we chat at dinner?” Laila asked, walking up to the girls. Everybody agreed to that decision and got in separate cars as they drove to the restaurant.

Once they arrived at the restaurant, everyone sat down around a large table. They ordered their foods and drinks before immersing into conversation. Allie was curious about the news Charlotte had to tell her, or had to tell everyone.

“So, what’s this great news you have to tell us?” Laila asked Charlotte. The attention was turned towards Charlotte. Finally! That was everyone’s similar thought. Charlotte had told everyone that she and Ethan were moving in together. Allie couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Everyone, but Allie congratulated Charlotte.

“Allie, you okay?” Olivia asked. Allie looked up at Olivia and nodded, “I’m gonna go outside.” She excused herself from her seat, then walked outside the restaurant. She found a bench to sit on and admired the sunset.

She heard the door open and close. She looked up and saw that Ethan had gone outside. “Can I help you?” she asked him, then turned her attention towards the sunset. Ethan sat down on the bench near her. “You know you can’t lie to your friends. I know you’re not okay.” he said.

She rolled her eyes, slightly shaking her head. “Why do you care whether I’m okay or not? You’re the one who left.” She stood up and was about to walk back into the restaurant when Ethan grabbed her arm. “I didn’t just come back to move in with Charlotte.” he said.

She looked at his hand placement on her arm, then looked up at him. “Don’t say that you came back so we can try to work things out again. I told you once before and I’m going to tell you again. I’m better now than I was then. It’s just not going to work out between us.” she told him.

“You think you could just let me go that easily?” he asked.

“Ethan, you left me and came back only to tell me that you were leaving again. I was going to give you another chance.”

“That was two years ago.”

“Yeah, and now it’s two years too late.” Ethan released his hand from her arm as she looked at him. “I’m gonna go home.”

“Let me-” Allie shook her head, interrupting him. “Just tell Charlotte and Olivia that I’ll call them tomorrow.” With that being said, she turned and walked down the street. Tears were beginning to build and roll down her cheeks.

Ethan walked back into the restaurant as Charlotte walked up to him. “Where’s Allie?” she asked. He told her that Allie had gone home. Charlotte figured that everything was too soon. “I’ll go and talk to her.” she said.

After dinner, everyone had gone home. Charlotte drove to Allie’s house, parking outside. She walked up to the door and rang the door bell. Allie had shut herself in her room, crying. She wiped her tears away and went downstairs to answer the door.

As soon as she opened the front door, she saw that it was Charlotte. “Can we talk?” Charlotte asked. Allie heard the tone in Lotte’s voice and nodded, letting her enter. She closed the door behind Charlotte and the girls sat down in the living room.

“I’m really sorry that I didn’t tell you about Ethan and I.” Charlotte said. “Honestly, I thought you two were getting back together. I know you still have feelings for him.”

“I don’t have feelings for him.” Allie said.

“Allie, let’s be honest. You and Ethan have been the cutest couple since high school. When you walked out of the restaurant, Ethan followed you out. He still cares about you Allie.” Another knock came at her door. Allie got up and answered the door, coming face to face with Ethan.

“Oh, it’s you.” Allie said, crossing her arms. Charlotte stood up from the couch, grabbing her bag and car keys. “I’m going to leave you two alone.” she said, then walked out the door and got in her car.

“Can I come in?” Ethan asked. Allie thought for a minute and then nodded, stepping aside to let Ethan enter. She closed the door after he entered and followed him into the living room. She sat down on the couch next to him.

“Allie, before you say anything, I’m sorry. I know words aren’t enough. When I left, I didn’t think I could love someone else. Sure Charlotte and I are moving in together, but it’s not going to change the way I feel about you. I know you have feelings for me and don’t even try to deny it.” he said.

Allie knew that everyone was right about the way she felt about Ethan. She still had feelings for him and it hurt her knowing that he was with Charlotte. “I’m happy for you guys.” she smiled, then the tears began to well-up in her eyes.

Ethan began to reach out and wipe them away, but Allie turned her head. "Allie," he started as she shook her head. "No I'm fine. I'll be okay." She gave another smile, but this smile wasn't as realistic as the first.

They both stood up and Allie showed him out the door. "Are you sure?" he asked. Allie nodded, "I'm positive." Ethan didn't believe her and he hated to see her hurt. He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her in for a hug and that was when she finally let go.

Every emotion she kept inside of her for the past two years had finally come undone. Allie cried until no tears came and they pulled away. She said good bye to Ethan and watched him walk out to his car. He got in and drove away.

Allie watched until she couldn't see his tail lights. She closed the door behind her, locking it and leaned against the door. I love you Ethan. She thought to herself and sighed. We'll be together again... someday.
