The One Who Wasn't Chosen

The propechy clearly states that the heir of Holden Din would save our world from The Jacks.

Katerina Enstire works for Cole Din, the heir of Holden Din. Katerina knows, he's supposed to save the world. But, he obviously won't. He's too selfish, too full of himself to acutally do anything. As Cole "stays oblivious" to the world that doesn't revolve around him, that world gets worse. People protest, and die within seconds. The Jacks are becoming more and more angry. But what can Katerina do? She isn't the Chosen One.

A/N: OK, so I don't know if I can keep this story up, so if I don't finish it, and if you like it, you can have it. ONLY IF I SAY IT IS OK! Thanks! Make sure you tell me what you think!

5. Chapter 5

"Cole, I'm gonna go meet some friends," I said as Cole sat in the parlor reading a book.

"Alright. Have fun," he said, not looking up from his book. I left quickly. I have important news to tell my friends.

"You mean, he was lying to The Jacks?" Pandora asked in awe.

"Yup. But, something isn't right here. I told him flat out that I was going to see you guys and he didn't have a fit," I said.

"Maybe he trusts you," Flora suggested.

"But the pieces don't fit," I said, more to myself than them.

"Kat has a point," Chase said. "The Jacks seem to trust Cole, why lie to them?"

"He said it was to keep us safe," I said. "But I feel like there is something I'm missing. I feel like there's a bigger picture that we can't see."

"Mason?" Pandora said.

"Yeah?" he replied.

"Nothing. It's just, you've been quiet the whole time."

"You have, you OK?" I said.

"I'm fine."

"K. Well, I have to go," Flora said. We all bid her goodbye and she left.

"What if Cole is lying to you?" Mason said suddenly, right before Flora left.

"What?" Flora said. Then Pandora, Chase, Mason, and Flora were all looking at me.

"He wasn't. You know I can tell when people lie. You know that," I said.

"Just thinking out loud."

"I should go," Flora said.

"Me too," I said. "Bye."

No one was there when I got home. It was quiet, not too much to say. What Mason said tugged at my brain, told me that it could be a possibility. I tried to shake it, but it stuck. What if Mason was right? But, he can't be, he isn't. I know when someone is lying.

A/N: I know that this chapter was kinda repeating the last one, but I just feel that there needs to be more time. Something possibly unexpected will happen next time, so BE PREPARED. Or don't be, that's fine. THX ^-^
