Nashville. I couldn’t believe it. I was finally there; the place where people lived, breathed, and bled country music. My starry, brown eyes looked out the window of our SUV as we drove into the city.

“Look guys!” My dad pointed at the skyline that was lined with skyscrapers of various heights.

I bounced up and down as we drove closer and closer into the city. Trees passed by the car in blurs, but I just kept looking forward. I couldn’t help but to want to soak it all in.

“So guys, what did you think of the Grand Ole Opry?” My dad asked as we walked out of the building back to the bus that would shuttle us back.

“It was cool, I guess.” My older brother shrugged his shoulders. “Not my favorite way to spend a Friday night, but it wasn’t horrible. There’s just a little too much singing for my taste.”

“Daddy, Aaron just doesn’t know what he’s talking about it. I loved it! It was awesome! Thanks for taking us!”

“You’re welcome, Allie.” He bent over and gave me a kiss on the top of my head.

I rocked side-to-side and grinned ear to ear. “Guess what?”

“I wanna be a country singer when I grow up, so I can stand on that stage!”

My dad just kinda looked at me and shook his head. “I’ve sure taught you to dream big, haven’t I?”
