My Bullysitters

All I wanted was to be happy, but I guess that was too much to ask for...

Katie's P.O.V

I laughed as Niall repetitively continued to get a brain freeze, drinking his milkshake much too fast.

"Don't judge me!" He whined, noticing my constant giggling.

"I'm not laughing at you Ni, I'm laughing with you." I grinned.

"I don't recall laughing." He retaliated, sticking his tongue out at me. I then poked it, causing him to grimace. "Ugh, gross! Katie you're so disgusting!" He shouted while wiping his tongue with a napkin, gaining himself a few looks from other customers.

"You know you love me." I replied, causing us both to giggle.

"Yeah." He said. "So.." He continued, his voice seeming to trail off.

"What?" I urged, interested in what he was going to say.

"I have great news." He grinned.

"What is it, what is it?!" I quizzed, nearly jumping out of my seat in excitement.

"I'll tell you." He said. "Once you tell me how your tests went today." He grinned, leaning back while taking another gulp of his milkshake.

I groaned before replying, "Aced them, now spill!" I earned myself a laugh from Niall before he sat back up from his leaning position.

"So I got a call today-"

"Did they give you the gig back?!" I burst out, cutting him off.

"No, now hush up, or I'm not going to tell you anything!"

I immediately fell silent.

"As I was saying, I got a call from a producer. He said he liked my sound and wanted to check me out."

"Way to go!" I yelled, launching out of my seat, this time being the reason to draw attention from others.

"Settle down." He chuckled.

"How can I settle down?" I giggled. "Wait, when do you leave?" I asked, now more curious than excited.

"Uh, three days." He said, his smile turning into an awkward grin.

"Oh, well that's alright." I said, a bit disappointed. "How long until you get back?"

I took it as a bad sign as he fell silent.

"Niall?" I pried, wishing to receive an answer.

"A month, at least that is. How's your float?" He asked, hastily changing the subject.

"A month?! And that's at least? How long at most?" I asked, now upset about my brother leaving.

"Three." He stated.

I hung my head low and sighed, returning to my seat.

"I can cancel." He started.

"No! I want you to go! I mean, I'll miss you loads, but you can't walk away from an opportunity like this." I quickly stated.

"Have I ever told you I love you?" He softly grinned.

"Things sure are going to be different with an empty house." I giggled. I then watched as Niall shifted uncomfortably in his seat. "What are you not telling me?" I questioned.

"The house may not be as empty as you think." He said.

"You didn't." I said, narrowing my eyes at him.

"Your a young teenage girl, Katie. I'm not leaving you alone for three months!" He protested.

"I'm a freaking sophomore, Niall! You did not seriously hire me a baby sitter!" I yelled at him.

"Technically, no."

"What?" I asked, quite confused.

"I got you four." He grinned.

"Four?" I asked aloud before it hit me.

"Yeah." He replied. "The mates were all for it. They seemed as if they could hardly wait!" He smiled.

"I bet." I replied, wishing I were dead.
