35. Shopping With Harry.

Katie's P.O.V

"I'm going to ask you one more time, Harry. Why do I need a new dress?" I questioned as Harry continued to us drive down the road.

"I'm quite amused with the fact that you haven't put it together yet." He smirked.

"Put what together?!"

"Would you like me to explain?" He asked, grinning at me as we approached a parking lot.

I glared at him as he already knew the answer. That's all I had been wanting this entire time.

"I'm your boyfriend and your my girlfriend. The Valentine's Dance is coming up and I'm going to be taking you. I haven't asked you yet because I know that it's probably going to bug you now that you know my plan, and now that answers as to why you're getting a new dress."

"And what if I say no? Maybe I wanted to go with someone else, or maybe I don't want to go at all." I replied.

"You're going to the dance, and you're going with me." Harry stated. He almost sounded angry that I had even joked about going with someone else. He quickly exited the vehicle before coming around and opening my door. My hand was tightly held in his as we walked through the vacant parking lot, only seeing a few cars here and there. Harry still refused to release my hand as we entered the store.

"Harry." I spoke as I tried to remove my hand, finding it difficult to search through dresses with just one. He eventually let go, causing me to glare up at him, unsure as to why he did that in the first place. He only returned the look I was giving him before searching through a new rack of dresses.

I sighed out deeply as I figured Harry was going to continue to be difficult throughout the day. I then tried to focus on finding a suitable dress, that being the reason I was here in the first place. After having zero luck with the rack I had just searched through twice, I decided to find Harry. Once I had him in sight, I noticed he was grinning down at the clothing he was holding. I approached him before he held up the short, black material for me to see, his now dark green eyes scanning me from head to toe before looking back at the fabric he held.

"I like this one." He spoke.

"Of course you do." I slightly groaned, beginning to search through the rack opposite of him. I came across a light purple dress that flowed to the floor. After selecting that and a hot pink dress that came just above the knees, I informed Harry I was going to the dressing room.

"Take this one too." He replied, handing me the dress he had first picked out.

"Harry, I'm not interested in this." I said, trying to get him to go hang it back up.

"Just try it. You never know until you try." He smirked.

"Please, for me?"

"Fine." I huffed, predictably caving to his satisfaction.

"I want to see them on. All of them." He stated, taking a seat outside the dressing room.

I rolled my eyes as I pulled back the curtain, knowing Harry was enjoying this shopping trip more than I was. I then began trying on my selections, starting with the purple. After zipping it up and examining myself in the mirror, I decided the color wasn't really working for me. I pulled back the curtain and allowed Harry to give his opinion. After having me spin a couple of times he shook his head, signalling me to try another.

Next I tried the hot pink. This one had caught my eye for three reasons. The color, the length and shape, and the big bow that was on the back. It all looked perfect together, but once I tried it on, something just didn't look right. I figured that something was me, assuming not everyone can look good in everything. I decided it looked better on the hanger than on myself. Harry also agreed the dress wasn't me, sending me back into the dressing room.

I groaned as I slipped Harry's choice on before looking myself over. I automatically hated it, feeling a bit wrong I was even in it. I didn't approve of the length, the whole dress seeming a bit too revealing for my liking. I almost thought of just telling Harry it didn't fit, but he could always tell when I was lying to him. I forced myself out from behind the curtain, figuring it would just be best to get it over with quickly.

Harry looked up from his phone before smirking at me. He stood up and made his way over to where I stood before slowly circling around me.

"Before you say anything, I just want to make it clear that I am not getting this." I stated.

"I know, I just wanted to see if you'd actually try it on." He grinned, causing me to boil with anger.

"You're despicable." I growled, stomping back behind the curtain as Harry chuckled at my actions.

I quickly removed the dress, feeling idiotic that I had even agreed to try it on for him.

"Katie." Harry's voice sounded from outside the curtain.

"What?" I harshly asked, beginning to put my (Harry's) shirt back on.

"Try this, I think it'd be perfect for the dance." He said.

I stuck my arm out as I waited for him to hand me his new discovery. I pulled the material into the room I occupied before looking it over. The fabric was that perfect shade of red that for some reason is always hard to find. It glittered faintly but just enough to where it contrasted perfectly with the dress itself. It had one sleeve on the right arm that went about halfway down while the left had no sleeve at all. I put it on and instantly fell in love with it. The color was perfect, the shape fit me well, and even the length was suitable for me. It was short, but not inappropriate short like Harry's last selection. It was simple yet classy at the same time. It was perfect.

"This is the one." I said as I walked out for Harry to see.

He smiled as he nodded in agreement, looking me over in the new found dress. He then sent me to get dressed so we could leave. When I went to purchase the dress Harry tried to stop me, informing me that since he found it, he should get to pay for it. I then retaliated that since I was going to wear and own it, that I was going to pay for it. With a bit of struggle I won the war, happily purchasing the dress myself.

"You really are stubborn, you know?" Harry stated as we began our journey back home.

"Don't act like you're not." I pointed out.

"Well since you didn't let me buy the dress, I'm not letting you buy the sweets for our movie marathon."

"Fine by me." I giggled. "So, when exactly do you plan on asking me to the dance?" I asked, changing the subject.

"Wouldn't you like to know." He smirked, pulling up to a convenience store.

"Don't wait too long, someone else may ask me, and I just might say yes." I joked.

"Wait in the car." Harry grumbled, quickly getting out of the vehicle before slamming the door closed.

He returned shortly, putting the bags in the back seat before guiding us home. The ride was silent all the way to my house, the atmosphere of the vehicle feeling a bit awkward and tense. Harry turned the car off before turning to me.

"You're not going to the dance with anyone else, you're going with me. Are we clear on that?" He asked.

"Yeah." I said, getting out of the car and making my way inside the house. I was only teasing about the dance with Harry, and I figured he knew that. The thought of him being so possessive of me was a bit frightening though. I didn't really understand why he was acting like this.

"If you go start up Netflix in your room, I'll get the snacks sorted out." He said, setting the bags in the kitchen.

"Ok." I replied, instantly beginning to walk off before Harry stopped me.

"Thank you." He spoke, kissing me before letting me go.

I went up to my room and hung my dress in the closet before beginning to search through movies on Netflix. Harry arrived quickly, setting a tray of food on my nightstand.

"What did you decide on?" He questioned, joining me on the bed.

"Nothing yet." I responded, still clicking through options as I stared blankly at the screen.

"Let me see that." Harry laughed, interrupting my search as he snatched the remote from my possession. He kept his eyes on mine as he randomly selected a movie. "See, that was easy." He grinned.

"We don't even know what we're watching." I stated.

"That's the fun part."

We sat there as the movie started, Harry already snaking an arm around me and pulling me closer to him. As much as I tried to get into the film, I just couldn't. Nothing was making sense to me except that somebody wanted to be a basketball player, well, something like that...I think.

It was also hard to concentrate when Harry wouldn't stop staring at me. Between the irrelevant movie and his staring, I couldn't figure out which one bugged me more.

"Can I help you?" I finally asked, now looking at Harry.

He smirked before leaning his head in and kissing me. My eyes fluttered closed as his hands cupped my face, his touch causing butterflies to go nuts in my stomach. His lips were soft as he continued to kiss me, eventually causing me to smile.

"Will you be my date to the Valentine's Dance?" He grinned.

"I thought you'd never ask." I giggled, connecting my lips back to his.
