My Bullysitters

All I wanted was to be happy, but I guess that was too much to ask for...

29. I Won't Let You Go...

Katie's P.O.V

"Do you hate me now?" I asked as the curly haired boy entered my room.

He chuckled as he rolled his eyes, making his way over to me.

"Why would you think a thing like that?" He asked, stroking my cheek with his thumb.

I moved my face away from his touch.

"Stop sugarcoating it. You know what I'm talking about." I said, looking him in the eyes.

"Look, I know you don't want to hear this, but you're in a freaking hospital. You just woke up not too long ago and you've been hit with who knows what kind of medication. Bottom line, you weren't yourself."

"But still. How can you even look at me after what I said? It wasn't fair for you to have to hear that and feel the way you felt. I seem to be screwing up a lot here lately and I'm sorry."

"You don't need to apologize about anything, I completely understand." He grinned, returning his hands to my face.

"But I-"

"Shh." He grinned, leaning over and brushing his lips across mine. "It's all good."

I smiled as our lips connected, instantly feeling fireworks exploding around us. It wasn't like kissing Liam, Harry was different. He was special.

"Oh, I almost forgot." I grinned, looking at him.

"What?" He questioned, giving me an odd look.

"Yes, I will be your girlfriend." I giggled.

"I knew you'd come around." He joked.

"Pft, whatever."

"Katie!" Someone exclaimed, rushing into my room.

"Yeah?" I asked, sitting up to see Niall smiling at me.

"The doctors say you can come home in around three days! Well, as long as everything goes the way it's supposed to that is."

"I'm going to be stuck here for three more days? Nu-uh, I don't think so." I said, swinging my legs over the side of the bed.

"Whoa, slow down there, love. You aren't going anywhere." Harry said, blocking my path.

"And why not?" I challenged.

"Because you need to rest and build your strength back up." Niall said, trying to get me to lay back down.

"How am I supposed to build up my strength by sitting on my but for three days?!"

"Just do what you're told." Niall laughed.

"Fine." I grumbled, swinging my legs back onto the bed.

"Don't pout, love." Harry smirked as Niall left the room.

"They must really hate me." I said, not meaning to change the subject.

"Who?" Harry quizzed.

"Louis and Zayn. I kind of told them off."

"Ah." He chuckled. "They might of mentioned that to us." He said, continuing to laugh.

"Oh." I said awkwardly.

"You were only standing up for yourself." He stated, defending me.

"Still.." I replied, my voice trailing off. "Do you think I could, um, talk to them?"

"I think you've said enough for one day." He lightly chuckled.

"Harry, I think I-"

"The answer is no." He said, trying to hide the grin that was creeping onto his face.

I replied by sticking my tongue out at him, unhappy with the fact I hadn't gotten my way.

"Maybe tomorrow, but I think for now you should rest." He stated.

"Fine." I said, watching him make his way to the door. "Hey, Harry?"

"Yeah?" He asked.

"Tell Niall and the rest of the boys to go home and get some rest, including you. I'll be fine here for the time being."

"I'm not sure how persuasive I can be when it comes to Niall, but I'll try."

"Thanks." I giggled before he left.

I knew Niall wasn't going to want to leave. He would protest to Harry's remark before coming to me and explaining he wasn't going anywhere. Time passed by before Niall predictably walked through the door.

"Niall, don't you start."

"I'm not going anywhere." He began, basically ignoring what I had told him not to do.

"I'll be fine. Just go and get some rest. I'll sleep better knowing you're right at home." I smiled.

"Don't try that on me you little con artist." He grinned.

"Then just go home!" I laughed.

"Fine. If you can give me one good reason, then I'll go home." He smirked, crossing his arms over his chest as if he had won this battle.

Oh no, Niall. No.

"Deal. I need stuff." I answered. "And don't you dare say it's not a good enough reason."

"What could you possibly need that you can't go three days without?" He questioned, still trying to win this argument.

"Let's see. I need my IPod for starters, my favorite pillow, a couple of magazines, my Phantom of the Opera DVD, my Smallville seasons-"

"You're Smallville seasons are going to take more than three days." He pointed out.

"So? I can at least start them considering someone doesn't want me moving from my bed. You don't have to bring all ten seasons, just the first one, and maybe the second." I smiled.

"Do you really need all that stuff?" He asked, rubbing his head with his finger tips.

"Fine." I dramatically sighed out. "Just bring me my IPod and pillow for sure. And if it's not too much trouble, The Phantom of the Opera."

"Deal." He smiled.

"Good, now go. I might as well try to sleep since I'm not allowed to have any fun."

"I'll be back tomorrow." He chuckled before leaning over to hug me. He then gave me a quick (brotherly) kiss. "Goodnight princess, sweet dreams."

"Thanks Ni, you too."

I almost didn't want him to go as he walked out the door, having to keep myself from screaming for him to come back. He deserved to go home though, it being my fault he was cooped up here all day.

I huffed out in annoyance as I tried to sleep in the uncomfortable bed, finding it impossible to find a suitable position. Hours had passed since Niall and the boys had left for home, leaving me wishing I could be back in my own bed and not have this annoying IV stuck in my hand. I then also realized I still had to tidy up my room from my unhealthy rampage. Maybe I'll try writing away my stress next time...

I was distracted from my thoughts as my door slowly opened, the light from the hallway causing the figure to look like a shadow in my unlit room.

"Who's there?" I asked, a bit frightened.

"Don't worry, princess. It's just me."

"Niall?" I smiled, even though he couldn't see it. "What are you doing here? We had a deal." I reminded him, even though I was overjoyed at his presence.

"I couldn't sleep knowing you were here alone. Besides, you needed your pillow." He explained, carefully lifting my head and putting the pillow beneath it.

"Thanks." I said, thankful for his gesture. "So, you're staying here for the night I presume?"

"As long as you don't kick me out." He chuckled.

"Yeah?" He asked, no longer laughing.

"Could you sleep with me?" I asked, feeling like a frightened child as I laid alone in the hospital bed.

"When are you going to learn," he sighed out. "that you don't have to ask?"

His body was next to mine before I knew it, my arms instinctively wrapping around his torso. I was out like a light, my brother giving me all the comfort I had so desperately needed.

I guess sometimes I'm glad when you don't listen to me after all.
