My Bullysitters

41. Final Moments.

Katie's P.O.V

"Liam, can you get that box for me?" I asked, backing out of my closet and allowing the taller male to retrieve the object out of reach.

The guys have been over all week, hanging out along with helping Niall and I pack. And by the guys, I mean all of them except Harry. Other than the night at the diner, he's done exceptionally well at avoiding me.

"Sure." He replied, easily grabbing the box from the shelf. I began to go through it on the bed, only to realize it was just full of awards I had received.

"Sorry, but can you put it back? I won't be needing any of this." I sighed out as he returned the box.

"So, four to five months huh?" Liam said, joining me on the mattress.

"Yeah." I stated, still not used to the fact that I leave in two days.

"That's quite a while." He spoke.

It was silent for a while after that, having no words for how I felt. It wasn't awkward though, Liam and I having a private conversation with our eyes. I knew he understood, this was a big change.

"Well no need to worry, I'll keep watch on the house while you're both away." He smiled. Honestly though, the house was the least of my worries.

"I'm going to miss you." I blurt out, my eyes already threatening to release tears.

"I'm going to miss you more." He said, wrapping me into a hug. "I wish things hadn't ever been bad between us. I feel like once you get out of town you'll forget all about me."

"Liam, that's impossible. What happened between us doesn't matter anymore, ok? We're good now and I'm most certainly not going to forget someone like you." I reassured him.

"Good." He smiled, bringing me in for another hug.

"Well, I think I've got everything I need packed and ready to go." I chirped, changing the subject as to hopefully stop crying.

"Now what?" Liam asked.

"Why don't you see if Niall needs any help? I kind of want to take a walk around town. I want to remember how everything is before I leave."

"Alright, but don't be too long. Niall wants to have dinner in a couple of hours."

"I won't." I smiled.

Once Liam had left I grabbed my art project and headed out down the sidewalk. It was now or never. Once I arrived at Harry's I stood in front of his door, unsure if I could really do this or not. I had finally told myself it would be best to just turn around and go home when the door opened, revealing Harry with a look I couldn't quite pin.

"Um,, never mind." I choked, making myself look foolish. I turned around to leave before Harry's voice stopped me.

"Wait." He said. I spun back around to face him, my cheeks already feeling a bit of a sting. I knew I was blushing with embarrassment, but there was nothing I could do to hide it. "Why did you come back?" He questioned. It wasn't in a rude tone, but more as if he were actually curious of my returning.

"I-I wanted to give you this before I left. I had started it when we were, um, yeah. But anyways, I figured I'd try to get back on better terms before I don't have a chance for the next five months." I felt so awkward as I explained, stuttering while feeling a bit repetitive with my words. He probably just thinks I'm pathetic.

His hands reached towards me before removing the cloth from the canvas, revealing the cluster of photos. He then took it into his own possession as he studied it, smiling every now and again. My hand was then quickly grabbed as I was dragged into his house.

"Harry!" I squealed, frightened at his sudden actions. He continued to ignore me as he pulled me into his room, sitting me down on the bed. "What are you doing?!"

"Just wait." He chuckled, looking around his room. "How about here?" He asked, holding the canvas to the wall above his bed.

"Um, sure." I spoke, confused on why my opinion suddenly mattered. He then took a seat next to me, causing me to scoot away a bit in discomfort.

"L-listen." He said, trying to keep eye contact with me. "I know I made a huge mistake, but I want you to know I truly am sorry for what I did after the dance. I know I can't keep doing this to you, and I know you can't just keep forgiving me. I just want you to know that-" He stopped, grabbing one of my hands with his. "I want you to know that I love you, and I know I always will. It's ok if you move on and find someone new, because I can honestly guarantee they'll be better for you. Just, don't forget about me completely though, please? I still want you in my life, one way or another."

"It's funny," I say, softly grinning. "how you and Liam both think I'm going to run off and forget you guys. Well don't count on it. All you guys have a special place in my heart now. You're not going anywhere." I smiled, giving him a tight hug. "And you've done much worse to me Harry. I'm pretty sure I can forgive you once more."

"Thank you." He whispered, his hot breath hitting my neck. We stayed in each others arms, a moment of weakness washing over both of us. We knew we couldn't have this much longer, which might have been why my lips pressed to his.

"I don't want you to go." He breathed out, pressing a kiss to my lower jaw.

"I'll come back, Harry. I promise." My eyes fluttered closed as he continued to kiss lower down my neck.

"I know you will, but it's still going to be hard to let you go." His hands were firmly holding my waist, proving his final sentence held true. "I'll wait for you." He spoke, his lips finding mine once again. "I want to prove to you we can work."

"Please. Just think about it while you're gone. Five months is a long time. I'm willing to wait if you're willing to give me the chance."

I stared at him, not knowing what to say or do. I specifically told myself no more! But how could I be satisfied with that when I truly wanted to continue trying to make love work?

"Ok." I finally whispered. "If you can wait on me for that long, I can give you a chance."

He smiled at me before pressing his soft lips to mine once again. My hands played separate roles, one tangled into his curls as the other fisted his t-shirt, his lips trailing their way back down my neck.

"I have to go now, Harry." I finally spoke.

"Wait just a second." He said, standing up. He walked over to his closet before clutching a blazer in his hands. "I want you to take this." He stated, handing me the jacket. "Oh, and this." He reached behind his neck before unclasping a silver chain that held a matching cross. "To keep you safe." He said, gently clasping it around my own neck.

"Harry, I can't take this." I said, examining the cross in my palm.

"I want you to."

I quickly shot up, tightly hugging him once again. "Then I want to give you something too." I said, unclasping the necklace I had originally worn over here. "It's a key I had taken a liking to and ended up getting it from Niall. I want you to have it. Think of it as the key to my heart." Once I had handed him the necklace I couldn't help but think on how stupid and dramatically sappy the words I had just said sounded. Harry didn't say anything, but I'm sure he probably thought the same thing.

"Thanks." He smiled softly, putting the key around his neck. "I'll take good care of it."

"Do you want to come over for dinner? Niall's cooking tacos I think."

"Nah. It's probably best I didn't." We both knew he was right, Niall would tear him to pieces.

"Alright." I spoke.

"See ya around?" He smirked, pulling me into one last kiss.

"Yeah." I blushed, quickly making my way out into the cold winter air.
