My Bullysitters

7. Departures a Struggle.

Katie's P.O.V

I laid there, wide awake and heartbroken. I couldn't believe the fact that Niall was leaving tomorrow. I then slipped from my bed and slowly walked down the dark hallway. Opening the door to Niall's room, I quietly tip-toed over to his bed. The steady rising and falling of his chest almost made me not want to wake him from his peaceful slumber.

Using the tips of my fingers, I gently tapped him on the shoulder. He grumbled a bit before his eyes slowly opened, taking a minute to realize I was there.

"Katie?" He questioned with a quite sleepy voice. "Are you ok?"

I wanted to lie, to tell him that I was perfectly fine, but I was done lying to him. "No." I said, trying to hold back a sob.

He instantly shot up, hanging his legs over the side of the bed before taking my hands in his and pulling me into a hug.

"What's the matter, princess?" He asked, gently rubbing my back.

Oh, you know, just the usual. You're leaving me for three months while having my bullies look after me, thinking they're great guys. And I'm falling apart inside because of how much I'm going to miss you, not telling you how much it really kills me though. I guess you could say I'm perfectly fine...

"I'm just really going to miss you." I mumbled into his shoulder, technically honest.

"Hey, I'll be back before you know it." He said, attempting to get a smile out of me.

"Can I sleep with you tonight?" I asked, wanting to cherish the last bit of time I had left with him.

"What kind of a question is that? Of course you can." He said, sliding across the bed to make room.

The moment my body came in contact to the bed was the moment Niall instantly pulled me close to him. I sat there, wishing for morning not to come, wanting to stay in his arms forever. I watched as my tears slipped from my eyes, falling onto his bare chest, and I watched as he gently glided his thumbs across my cheeks, wiping away more than just my tears.

I finally fell into a deep slumber, Niall's voice putting a spell on my tired eyes. His voice was soft as he sang to me, and I knew it would be a while before I heard it again.

"Katie, wake up." Niall said. I could hear the smile in his voice.

"Five more minutes?" I begged, wishing he would stay and cuddle with me.

"None of that. You've got school."

"Yes, but if you look at it in my perspective, it would be a waste to go today." I replied, now sitting up.

"Oh? And why is that?" He smirked, wanting to hear my theory.

"Well, today is the last day before our two week break, and it also happens to be a half day. And to top it all off, I have no tests or anything important to do." I smiled, hoping he'd let me off.

"Please Niall." I whined.

"Oh, alright." He said, beginning to tickle me.

"Niall, you goof! Knock it off!" I shrieked, finding it difficult to contain my laughter.

"Fine." He said, laughing himself. "How about some breakfast before I leave?" He asked, reminding me of his departure.

"As long as you're cooking it." I giggled, playfully poking his nose, only to have him swat my hand away.

"Like I'm going to trust you near the stove." He joked.

"One time!" I yelled. "It was one time, and you still haven't let me live it down."

"Not going to either." He chuckled, bounding down the stairs, I closely following behind.

"Eggs and bacon alright with you?" He asked, searching the cupboards for a pan.

"As long as you'll trust me with the toaster to make toast." I joked.

"I'll think about it." He retaliated, causing us both to laugh.

Once our breakfast for two was done we sat together at the island bar, jokingly criticizing each others culinary skills.

"I think the bacon is too floppy." I teased.

"At least I didn't burn the toast. I trusted you with the toaster and you blew it!" He exclaimed, both of us bursting into a fit of laughter. We were interrupted by the sound of the door bell.

"I'll get it." Niall replied, hopping off his stool. I on the other hand continued eating.

"Look who's here!" Niall announced, strolling back into the kitchen. Following him was none other than the boys.

"Hey." I quietly spoke, sliding my egg back and forth across the plate.

"Good morning." Liam sang, seeming to be more than excited to see me.

"I'll be right back, Niall. I need to go change." I said, removing myself from my stool.

I then made my way into my room, locking the door in the process. Once a pair of ripped skinny jeans and an over sized black sweater clung to me, along with putting on some converse and throwing my hair into a messy bun, I made my way back down the stairs.

I immediately frowned as I saw the boys helping Niall put his things in the trunk of his car.

I wanted to help him.

I walked outside as Niall slammed the trunk closed. He then turned to me, his arms wide open. I instantly clung to him, not wanting to let him go.

"I'm going to miss you so much." He said, squeezing me even harder.

"I'm going to miss you more." I said, tears escaping my eyes.

"As highly as I doubt that, ok." He joked. "Be good princess. I love you." He said before waving bye to his mates and getting into his vehicle.

"I love you too." I replied.

The further away his vehicle got, the more my heart seemed to be ripped to pieces. I then wiped my eyes before instantly bolting into the house, the boys hot on my trail. I knew that if I even stumbled on a single step, I would be officially screwed. I barely had time to lock my bedroom door as they immediately began to pound their fists on it.

"Katie, open the damn door!" Liam yelled.

"No!" I shouted, instantly afraid of being in my own home.

"You have to come out sometime, that or you'll starve." He pointed out.

"Wrong! Before you guys showed up I stashed enough food up here to last until Niall gets back!" I bluffed.

"You clever bitch!" He spat. "Well whatever. You'll come out eventually and when you do, we'll be waiting."

By now I was terrified. I had lied about my stash, and I know I officially pissed them off, running and hiding from them, not to mention yelling at them and refusing to do as they said. I knew Liam was right, I did have to come out sometime, and I knew I would defiantly pay for what had just taken place.
