My Bullysitters

14. Breaking The Rules.

Katie's P.O.V

My eyes shot open as my alarm began to sound. Quickly shutting it off, I quietly removed myself from the bed. After slipping on some clothes, I checked the time. 4:45 A.M.

I looked over at Harry and smiled. He always could sleep through anything. I honestly wanted to tell him where I was going, but I couldn't, still much too skeptical about the sudden friendship.

I grabbed the bouquet of flowers that were sitting in a vase on my desk, before quietly making my way downstairs. It was times like these I wished I had a way to escape from my bedroom window, just like they always had in movies, the thought of being caught by someone as I waltzed out the front door terrifying me.

The air was much cooler due to the fact the sun wasn't even up, not to mention it's winter. I gripped the end of my hoodie sleeves, trying my best to stay warm as I walked down the narrow path.

I sighed as I took in my surroundings, the cemetery always seeming more eery in the early mornings than any other time. The lack of light, the low, thick fog, and even the fact that there were people buried beneath the very ground I walked on gave me the chills.

I then continued on my way through, not wanting to waste too much time. I at last came to my desired destination, two, worn head stones side by side. I crouched down, gently laying the flowers atop of one and putting a couple on the other.

"Happy birthday, mum." I said, trying my best to smile for her as my eyes watered. "Niall told me tulips were your favorite." I continued, gazing down at the red flowers I had selected. "And dad, Niall's doing really well with his music. I hope he's making you proud." I said, my voice trailing off, thinking on how I haven't done a single thing to make my parents proud of me.

Time seemed to pass by as I just sat there, not wanting to leave them, but I had to get back before anyone woke up.

"I have to go now." I said, standing back up. "I love you guys." I then scurried home, constantly wiping my eyes.

I had never really known my parents, dying as I was still very young, but the things Niall told me about them made me feel closer to them. I loved when he showed me pictures of them, explaining how my mother's eyes always sparkled, and how my father was always lighthearted. Just thinking about it made me wipe my eyes more frantically.

I tiptoed into the house, ever so quietly shutting the front door. I was then greeted by a figure behind me, causing me to jump.

"And just where have you been?" Louis asked, evilly smirking at me.

I couldn't speak, frightened by the male that loomed over me.

"Just wait til Liam gets up." He said, walking up the stairs.

Once I heard a door close I shot up the steps and into my room. Why was he even up?! This is just my luck.

"Where were you?" A low voice asked.

I turned my attention to the sleepy male whom currently occupied my bed.

"Where." He asked again.

"The cemetery." I finally spoke.

"What were you doing all the way out there?"

"It doesn't matter."

"It does to me." He said, now sitting up.

"Today is my mum's birthday." I sighed out.

"Why didn't you tell me? I could have drove you down there-"

"I wanted to be alone. I knew Liam wouldn't let me have the privilege to leave the house by myself, if I was to even be aloud to leave at all. So I snuck out this morning while you were all sleeping."

"Well at least you made it back." He grinned.

"Louis busted me as I came through the door." I said, now taking a seat beside him on the bed.

"Oh." He said.

"He's going to tell Liam." I said, lowering my head.

"I wouldn't worry too much about that."

I looked at him, my eyes questioning his.

"I can get you out of trouble, but you're still going to have to tell him where you were." He said.

"Ok." I replied, now ready to listen to his plan.

Not too much longer had he explained, had Liam come bursting through the door.

"What's this I hear about you sneaking out?" He asked.

"Relax, mate. I gave her permission." Harry said, now standing up.

"Without consulting me?"

"It's not like I didn't know where she was. Besides, she's not going to run from us."

"How can you be sure of that?" He quizzed.

"She came back, didn't she?" He retaliated.

Liam glared at me before continuing. "So, where did you go?"

"To the cemetery." I said, my voice quiet as I spoke.

"Why on earth were you piddling around out there?"

"To visit my parents?" My answer coming out more as a question.

He stared at me before something clicked in his brain.

"Alright." He grumbled. "Just, ask me next time." He said, looking at both of us before exiting my room.

I let out a deep sigh as his presence was removed.

"Thank you." I said, throwing my arms around Harry.

"No problem." He said, holding me in his arms.

And the crazy part was, I didn't want him to let go...
