Love Story: A song into a story.

A competition entry :)

1. Chapter 1.

There was a little girl standing under a cherry-blossom tree, wearing an ivory-colored dress. In two hours she would be the flower girl for her sister's wedding. Mary had been dating Trevor for five years, ever since Taylor was born. They had met in the hospital where Mary's sister, Taylor was born and where Trevor's little brother, Alex, was born.

A few years later:

The kids are both twelve years old. They're practically twins, but from different parents. Those two kids became amazing friends and were unofficial brothers and sisters.

One day while sitting up in their treehouse, made by their dads, they started talking about wanting to visit the world together. That was a vast topic for kids their age. Then they talked about family and their brother and sister's wedding. Some how all that led to a kiss. A small peck, as it would rather be defined as.

This kiss didn't go unnoticed. The timing was far from perfect since Taylor's dad was looking out the window at that exact moment.

Rage, anger, disappointment, and confusion were emotions clearly shown on his face. He dropped the china ware he was washing and stomped outside. "Taylor Moran and Alex Dubinsky, you get out of that tree house this instant!"

The kids climbed out their treehouse and followed Taylor's dad inside the house.

After that incident the kids were no longer allowed to see each other.

You'd think the parents would be happy to see a kiss thinking about how cute their kids look together, but no.

Taylor's parents didn't want them to be seeing each other because their daughter had already gotten married to one of the Dubinsky kids. They didn't want Taylor to as well.

Alex's parents didn't want their son to see Taylor because they simply didn't want their family to be at war with their daughter in law's parents.

Three years later:

Alex and his friends were playing truth or dare and one of his friends had dared him to run to the Dubinsky's, knock on the door, and yell, "I want my brother!" and then run away.

A stupid dare, but he actually agreed to do it.

"Knock, knock." There was a pound on the door. Taylor, being the only one home, went to open it.

Just as she opened it Alex yelled the same sentence that his friends dared him to shout. He stopped mid-sentence at the sight of Taylor.

"Hey." Taylor smiled.

She just ignored the fact that Alex yelled something when she opened the door.

"Hi." Alex replied back with a small grin.

They hugged. Then Alex was invited in to sit go inside and talk. Hours and hours passed by and they were happier than ever to be reunited. Then once again timing is not on their side because Taylor's dad suddenly parks in the drive way and the kids don't even realize. The key is the keyhole and the door-knob is turning.

"Oh shit. My dad." Taylor starts to panic.

Nothing can be done since it takes less than a second to turn a doorknob, and nearly 10 seconds to hide.

"You, again!" Her dad's head looked as if it was about to explode.

"Sorry, sir." He apologized and tried to run out the door.

"Alex Dubinsky, get out of this house this instant! You are never allowed to see my daughter."

"No, dad! Please don't! I love him!"

"I love you, too!" Alex ignored Taylor's dad and hugged her.

"If you love each other, why don't you move out? Huh? Taylor, I swear if you ever see this boy again I will kick you out of this house. You're never coming back if you go with him."

"Come with me, Tay."

Taylor was more confused than ever. Alex or her dad.

"I'm sorry, Alex." She ran upstairs and hid in her room.

Five years later with no communication:

"Alex, take me somewhere we can be alone. I'll be waiting; all that's left to do is run. You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess. It's a love story, baby, just say, "Yes."" She left a voicemail on his cell phone and hung up.

She had made the worst decision of her life when she said, "No," to Alex. She had gone on dates and had boyfriends but every one of them had reminded her of Alex and the memories they shared.

"Alex, save me, my dad is trying to tell me how to feel. This love is difficult but it's real. Don't be afraid, we'll make it out of this mess. It's a love story, baby, just say, "Yes."" Another voice mail was left.

It was a real love story. One you'd see in a movie.

A few days later, she got a call.

"Marry me, Taylor, you'll never have to be alone. I love you, and that's all I really know. I talked to your dad – go pick out a white dress It's a love story, baby, just say, "Yes." You're twenty, you get to make your own decisions."

She was ecstatic but at the same time confused, why would her dad say yes, but she never questioned it.

She was getting married.

'Cause they were both young when they first saw each other. Now they're finally getting their happily ever after.

Sorry I skipped so much in the middle, it's a short novel... can't have much. Bye :)
