20. Chapter Twenty!

Lily's POV

I woke up to the sound of birds chirping. The door suddenly slammed open, scaring the jelly beans out of me. "Lily! I have BAD news!" I stared at Winter. She looked different all of a sudden. Her used to be brown hair with blonde streaks were darker. And her dark brown eyes became lighter. I rubbed my eyes and yawned. "What is it Winter?" Winter ran up to me, shaking me from my shoulders. "There's a witch in the neighborhood, dummy!" I raised a brow in confusion. "Witch?" Suddenly, my window slammed open from a huge gust of wind. Then a girl around our age flew in. She looked so young and she was very attractive. Her long light brown hair fell over her shoulders. And her yellow-green eyes looked straight at us. "Hi! I'm Bethany Jones!" Winter hid behind me and I looked at Bethany with a smile. Bethany chuckled and walked next to Winter. "So they've been telling you about us witches, huh newbie?" Winter nodded slowly and didn't speak at all. Bethany laughed and sat on the floor next to Winter, with her eyes twinkling. I wanted to speak, but I was completely new to all this supernatural thing. "Well, Winter, I'm not as bad as you think! You can trust me! And I'm here to help you understand what a pureblood vampire is." I thought I saw Winter's lips curve a little and I wondered what kind of witch Bethany was. "Bethany? Are you really a witch? I mean, where's your flying broom and pointy hat?" Bethany stared at me and got up from the floor. "Oh! So just because I'm a witch means that I'll need a broom?" I raised a brow. " don't have a flying broom?" Bethany looked at me with a weird look. "Of course I have a broom. I'm a witch, whaddya think? But I don't have a hat 'cause it messes my hair up." I got out of bed to stretch. "Wow. I thought witches were supposed to be ugly and mean." Bethany slouched and sat on the edge of my bed. "Humans. Always think of the ugly side." I glared at Bethany and she looked at me with unemotional eyes. Then we suddenly heard a loud grumble. I looked at Winter and she was looking down, with her now dark brown hair with dark blonde streaks covering her face. She looked at me with a red embarrassed face and laughed. "Haha. Sorry. I'm really hungry." I took out a fake plastic garlic and threw it at Winter. She appeared next to me all of a sudden and I smiled while she glared. Bethany laughed and wiped a falling tear from her eye. "One thing that you should know is that...-" Winter rolled her eyes. "I know. Vampires are fast and keep that garlic away from me Lily!" I looked at her with a smirk. "That was FAKE, dummy!" I think I can get used to supernatural creatures, especially if my best friend is half idiot and half vampire. Winter glared at me. "You know that I can read your mind, right Lily?" I smiled, and let my black shoulder length hair fall against my shoulders. "I know, dummy!" I ran out in the kitchen and I played "hide-and-seek tag" with Winter the whole morning.
