10. Draco's Reasons

Lupin wasn't the worst person to be stuck with for a detention. McGonagall would much worse. Lupin kept finding things for Lea to do that peaked her interest. He constantly kept watching her and her natural magical talents.

Lea, to her part, kept on getting better and watched Lupin. The first full moon with Lea in detention was drawing ever closer.

As was, to Lea's surprise, Draco. It wasn't that he came over and talked with her, he still hated her with absolution. No, Draco was getting bolder with following her.

Since Severus had given her a detention, Lea had been careful not to annoy him as an apology. In her spare time she was even helping to clean the dungeon.

It was a huge surprise when Lea found a small, wrinkled pointed ear thing cleaning instead. It said it was a house elf. They are apparently very common in the school. They cooked, cleaned and polished everything.

That particular house elf's name was Tasha. She was short and a happy face that shined. Tasha wore a small dress that would have fit a child. Lea and Tasha worked together while cleaning. After about a week they began to get to know each other.

All the while, Draco was learning Lea's every move. Now he didn't even bother hiding from Lea when he followed her.

Lea did cast a charm on herself so that to anyone who didn't already know, she was doing basic magic. Draco, as a consequence, never saw her true power.

Lea was getting the last portion of Lupin's potion when why Draco was following her became evident.

It was only two night until the full moon when Lea was getting Lupin his potion. It was a late Friday evening and it was almost time for lights out. Why Draco was cutting it so close was a mystery to her.

Lea was carrying the potion to Lupin when Draco came out in front of Lea.

"Well if it isn't the mudblood. What are you doing here," he asked.

Lea was instantly suspicious. "What do you want?"

"Nothing," he said as he walk past her. Suddenly he stuck out his hand and grabbed the elixir.

"Funny, now give it back Draco. This was made for Lupin," Lea said through gritted teeth.

"Okay," he said as he dumped it on Lea's head. Draco then ran down to Severus' office.

Lea sighed and began to make her way up to Lupin's office, trying to client as much of the magical drink as she could.

Lupin heard her come in as Lea's shoes squeaked loudly. Lupin looked up from a paper when he heard the drip of liquid.

"What happened," Lupin asked concerned.

"Nothing," Lea said with a flick of her hand, wanting to dismiss her stupidity.

"It doesn't look like nothing," Lupin contradicted. And indeed it did not. Lea's skin was starting to redden while her eyes began to yellow. This was do to the potion that was on her. In addition to all this, her hair began to smell strongly of sulfur.

"Get to the Hospital Wing," Lupin said dismissing her for the night.

Lea handed him the potion and began to walk out when she stopped.

"I'm sorry about the potion," she said turning back.

Smiling, Lupin replied, "The last bit is just a precaution. Besides, all just have to ask Severus for another. I was going to ask anyway, so this is really no trouble."

Lea opened the door and was walking down the steps when Lupin called down to her. "I'll inform Severus. I want to know what happened tomorrow, that isn't a request either."

Lea groaned as she thought of explaining her stupidity of trusting Draco not to do anything stupid to Lupin.

Unbeknownst to her, she had something bigger to worry about.

Down in the dungeon, Draco ran to Severus' office. His plan was fool proof. He would get Lupin discredited and humiliate the mudblood at the same time. It had taken all of his time to pull this off. not to mention the hours of following Lea to get his best opportunity and find out if she'd tell. No, she would be too embarrassed.

There was just one thing he didn't expect when he ran into Severus' office. And he was sitting in one of the chairs.

Severus and Dumbledore were in the middle of a conversation about Lea when Draco barged in. They were discussing if it would be wise for her to be near him while in his other form.

Both agreed not to try it when Lupin had not taken his potion, but neither were 100% sure about what would happen with the potion. Dumbledore believed that Lea could force Lupin to do what she wanted even when he was full on werewolf (no, those were not his exact words) because of her powers. Also, that she would never be fully werewolf if she were bitten by one in her human form.

Severus thought that it would be insane to try. And told Dumbledore that non too gently.

That's when Draco ran in, luckily having heard none of that. He pause for a moment taking that Dumbledore was there.

"What is wrong, Mister Malfoy," Dumbledore asked him calmly.

Draco shook his head. His plan was getting better and better by the minute!

"Something happen," Draco gasped out of breath, both from running and his excitement. "Lea Talbot's in the Hospital Wing." Draco had followed her a bit longer until Lea was sent away to make sure she would be where he needed her.

"What happened," Severus asked with a strained voice, trying to keep calm.

"I... ummm..." Draco seemed nervous to say anything. Then, stealing his face with resolution, said slowly and carefully the thing that Severus had feared the most since Lupin came to the school.

"Professor Lupin sent her there." There was dead silence.
