The Slytherin Scandal: Year Two

Sirius Black, a world renounced murderer, is an animagus. He is on the loose and for some reason is going to Hogwarts. But after Lea meets Sirius, she's not sure if all those things are true.

Things begin to get odd when Lea finds out that the new DADA professor is an old friend of Sirius'. On the first day back, she also learns her teacher's worst and most hated secret. What happens when those two meet and an old friend comes back from the dead?

6. Draco Insults Buckbeak

Charms class was boring for the most part. Flitwick was still the shortest teacher, but everyone was trying to get their work done, not wanting to have homework the first day back. Lea was the first one to master the spell and it was in the first five minutes.

She was allowed to leave class early after no one was taking her help on the spell. Lea went to the library and started rereading some of her favorite books.

Transfiguration was more difficult, but she did finish just before Hermione. Although, the first five minutes of class were interesting. First, McGonagall transformed into a striped cat, then she watched as the Gryffindors didn't even register that she had change or was talking.

As it turned out, the Gryffindors had just come from Divination. Apparently, Professor Trelawney had predicted the horrible, painful and imminent demise of one Harry James Potter.

"Ah, I see. You should know, Potter, that Sibyll Trelawney loves predicting the death of one student each year," McGonagall said in distaste. "None have yet to come true."

Lea heard Harry and Ron sigh in relief. "If you do happen to die, Potter, you will be excused from your homework. Now if you will turn you attention back to my class..." The rest of class passed with nothing else remarkable happening.

Then there was Care of Magical Creatures. That was all interesting. It started with Hagrid staring at Lea. Not just because she was in a third year class, but because of her hair. It was still a vibrant purple that everyone stared at. Lea payed no attention to the bunch as Hagrid started to explain where they were going, which happened to be the Forbidden Forest.

For the first ever class taught by Hagrid, he had decided to get three sharp clawed part bird, part horse animals. They had front claws, back hooves, beaks and feathers instead of hair. One was a light and dark brown mix, one a gray and white mix and the last was black.

"What exactly are those, Hagrid," Ron asked edging away from them.

"These beau'ies are Hippogriffs, Ron. Now 'very'ne open yer books ta page 74," Hagrid told them.

"How," yelled Draco.

"Stroke the spines, you idiot," Lea told the group.

The students looked at Hagrid for confirmation. He nodded at them.

Hagrid steered the Hippogriffs into a pen and looped a rope around each of their necks. There was enough rope to loop around the pen, but short enough that if anyone got hurt, they would be restrained.

Harry was the first to near them, bowing as he looked the grey and white Hippogriff in the eyes. Soon, after the Hippogriff bowed in return, was able to pet and ride him.

Harry got off after the animal stopped and was a bit shaky on his feet. Everyone seemed encouraged by Harry's success and stepped forward at once. Most went to the other two Hippogriffs.

Lea, Draco, Crabbe and Goyal went up to the grey Hippogriff. Draco and his two lackeys kept a respectful distance while Lea walked right up to him. He squawked at Lea and closed the gap between them. This drew Hagrid's attention to them.

"What 're ya doin'," yelled Hagrid running towards her. Lea ignored Hagrid and people started to stare.

When Lea was less than a yard away, she stopped and bowed to him. The Hippogriff than came up and started rubbing his head on hers. Lea smiled and started to rub his flanks.

"What's your name," Lea asked her new friend in a whisper.

"The big man calls me Buckbeak. I like him, he likes us," Buckbeak told her.

"I bet, I have to let some other people come and say hi. I'm sorry. I'll come see you tonight," Lea told him backing away.

"What we ya thinkin', li'le lady? You coulda got hurt," Hagrid scolded Lea when she came away.

"He wouldn't have come near me if I had done it like everyone else because of my hair. Buckbeak doesn't like it," she whispered back at him.

"Oh no, I would get Draco away from Buckbeak if I were you," Lea said with a stony face turning away from Hagrid.

Suddenly there was a screech that would shatter glass, and did. Both Harry's and Lea's glasses shattered. Quickly lea repaired her pair and saw Buckbeak standing on his hind quarters.

Draco lay on the ground clutching his right arm. His face was twisted in pain.

"Hagrid, he has to be taken to the Hospital Wing," shouted Hermione after Hagrid had calmed and tied up Buckbeak. He picked Draco up as he walked up to the castle.

Lea went with them, carrying Draco's things. The only reason she was going was because she wanted to tell Severus the true story, that and she had his stuff. Not to mention that he probably thought that she had told Buckbeak to maim him. She needed to set him straight.

It was a two minute walk to the Hospital. The gashes were healed instantly, although Draco complained of having intense pain in his arm. Lea put down Draco's things and went off to lunch.
