11. Nothing will happen

I pulled my short blonde hair into a pony tail and pushed some extra hair behind my ear. I walked out of the bathroom and over to the fridge, which back were I'm from, would be considered a mini-fridge. I pulled out a energy drink called Kickstart. It was one of my favorite drinks next to Dr Pepper. I didn't feel like cooking breakfast so I quickly drank my drink and gathered my books for class. I wanted to get to school before Louis could show up. I felt bad avoiding him, but I didn't want anything to happen to me or to him. Maybe he would get tired of me avoiding him and he'd breakup with me. I didn't want to think about that.

I walked out the door and walked through the park that connected my flat to the school. I walked into the doors and down the hall. I heard my phone go off. I pulled it out and saw Louis was calling. I picked it up as I sat down on a bench outside my first period.

"Hey," I said.

"Hey where are you? I thought we were going to walk over to school together," Louis said. He sounded disappointed and my guilt welled up inside me.

"Right, I forgot I had to do something before classes. I'll see you in drama though," I said. I heard Louis sigh.

"Em, I need to talk to you," he said.

"Then we can talk in Drama," I said.

"No, we need to talk before then. Class doesn't start for another 25 minutes, why don't I meet you in front of class so we can talk," he said. Whatever he wanted to talk about sounded important.

"Yea alright. I'm outside room 908," I said.

Louis hung up and I put my phone in my pocket and laid my head against the white brick wall. This was it. He was going to break up with me. I heard footsteps coming down the hall and saw Louis walking down with red suspenders, hipster glasses, and red toms. Gosh. He wasn't going to make this easy. Louis sat down next to me and grabbed my hands. I half smiled at him but Louis kept his blank face. I could tell that he was upset.

"Em, I need you to be honest with me," he said. "Is there something you need to tell me?" he asked. I nodded. "What is it?" he asked.

"I can't tell you," I said. "I don't want you to get hurt," he said.

"Em, I'm already hurt. Why didn't you tell me about this note?" he asked. I looked at him confused.

"How did you know?" I asked.

"Kayla called me last night, said that she was worried about you. I said I was too, that you were avoiding me. I knew you weren't really sick. And then she told me about the note and that you didn't want to tell me about it," Louis explained. "Why would you chose to avoid me instead of telling me?"

I sighed. "I thought that by me hanging out with you I was putting you in danger. I didn't want you to get hurt," I said.

"Em, me and the boys deal with this kind of stuff almost everyday," he said as he gave me a hug. "We have people that constantly watch me and the boys to make sure we're safe. Most of the time we don't even know their there," he said. "If something like this happens again, let me know," he said. "Nothing bad will happen," he said as he kissed my forehead.
