Camp Direction *Complete*

Amber, Emily, Olivia, Delaney, and Sarah make up the girl band Dangerous. They won their way into a camp for aspiring singers and others in the music business. They are so happy to finally have they dream of possibly becoming a real band come true. There's one thing though, the owners of the camp are the hot new boy band: One Direction. And they fall head over heels for these girls, but the girls have hearts of stone.

26. Back On Stage

*The Next Day-Late Morning*

This is it; we're up first. I'm so excited. It's been awhile since I've been on a stage. "You ready girls?" I ask, putting my hand out; palm down.

"So ready," Emily puts her hand on mine.

"Of course," Olivia puts her hand on Emily's.

"I'm always ready," Sarah puts her hand on Olivia's.

"Let's do this," Delaney puts her hand on Sarah's.

"Then everyone said," I start.

"Watch out; Dangerous is coming!" We all shout and throw our hands in the air. Then we burst out laughing; we know it's super cheesy. Just another reason to love it.

"One minute girls," some lady walks past us.

"Okay," I fix my headset microphone. The thing we just did is like a ritual. We do it every time before going on stage. The place where we're at is an area by a lake. The stage is left of the lake, tress surround us; it's an awesome place to perform. In front of a little over 200 people.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please give a warm welcome to Dangerous, a very deep manly voice says. Cheers erupt.

That's our cue. We rush on to the stage. All of us get to our instruments, and after everyone's ready, we start playing. Then I start singing. I've never really said what our singing voices are like. Well, for some reason I have a kind of deep singing voice; even though my voice is kind of high pitched any other time. Sarah's is not as deep as mine, but it's not high either. Emily and Olivia a pretty normal; bot deep but not too high either. Delaney has a great singing voice; she can go pretty high if she needs to, and is great at harmonizing and being an echo. Together out voices are perfect.

The song ends way too soon. I'm so happy on the stage and wish we were singing a few more songs. The claps from the crowd make me smile. People really think we're good. That really gives me a boast of confidence that this is what to do. This is what I've always wanted to do, and it seems like it's what I should do. We all bow and wave as we walk off the stage. I still can feel the buzz of being on stage. That amazing feeling that I've missed.

*Later That Day*

My eyes are glued to the TV screen. The boys are doing an interview and there's no way I'd miss it. "So boys, any girls in your lives?" the lady interviewer asks.

"Not any girlfriends if that's what you mean," Louis says. Everyone laughs.

"I'm not sure why anyone would date," Harry says.

"Why would you say that, Harry?" the interview asks.

"Well, I mean, I'm kind of chubby, too overprotective, way too sensitive over the smallest things. And I'm far too greedy, my muscles aren't nearly big enough, and my nose is a bit big."

I frown, "Curly, why would you think that? You're perfect the way you are." I snatch my phone off the table and text him just that. Then I go back to the TV.

"Mate, my teeth aren't the best," Niall says.

"Ah, come on boys. Stop putting yourselves down," the interviewer says.

"Oh, I just remembered something. Louis left something out with the girl thing," Liam says. "Because Harry, there is a girl who would possibly date you, and you too, Niall. Same for all of us."

"Oh, is that true?"

"Oh, yeah, it is," Louis says. "They go to our camp. They're in a band called Dangerous. They are all very pretty and great at singing. Plus great at playing an instrument."

"Girls, Louis just talked about us!" I yell. They rush into the room.

"What did he say?" Emily asks.

"Sit and shush." They all plop down somewhere.

"That's cool," the interviewer says.

"Like any of them would date us," Zayn says.

"What do you mean?"

"We live two different worlds at the moment. And, as told by Harry from one of the girls, they have hearts of stone."

"Can't hurt to try," Louis says.

"That's true, Lou," I say. We all laugh.

"Did you tell Harry the hearts of stone thing, Amber?" Olivia asks.

"Yeah, I did. Is it wrong?"

"It was true a couple weeks ago. The past few days, I'm not so sure," Sarah says.

"I know how you feel."
