11. Chapter Eleven

"Zoo zoo, what are you doing here?" I ask shocked.

"I came to find you." She says.

"Well you shouldn't have walked all this way on your own. There are some bad people in this world, you never know who is walking right next to you." Zoe nods her head.

"Well, I'm fine. Can't you see?" She smarts off.

I smile and wave her over to me. She laughs and runs over.

"Sorry, Blaine. This is just my sister, Zoe."

"Well hi there." He greets.

"I like him already." She whispers to me. "Hi. You have a cool name."

He chuckles. "So do you, I've never met a Zoe before."

She chuckles, they were getting along great already. He turns back to me. "So, we still on for tomorrow?" He asks.

Zoe nudges my side. I nod. "Yeah, see you there."

"Alright. Bye Radly. He smiles. "Goodbye Zoe." He tells her before walking out.

"Zoe, come sit behind the counter and wait for my shift to be over. I don't want you walking back alone."

She sits down in my chair and waits for my shift to end.

I sigh and drop my purse on the floor and fall onto the bed. "Long day?" She asks.

"You better believe it."

"So, what are we going to do tonight?"

"Hmmm." I smile while rolling over to face her, laying my head against my palm. "How about you help me pick something out for my date tomorrow."

She immediately gets up and starts rummaging through drawers. I loved my sister to death, I just hope I could keep her safe until she is able to do this on her own. I'm guessing that mom will give up sooner or later. Zoe kind of frightens me every once in a while - I almost think she likes running. I don't want her to like it, well I want her to like some of the experiences, but I want her to be able to find love like I can't and have a family like I can't. I want her to have the stuff I couldn't give her and the stuff I couldn't give myself. I want her to be the happiest person ever and you better believe I will do anything for that little girl. Anything...
