Never Broken

Hannah's life is a living hell. Her mother died two years ago and her step dad abuses her everyday. She feels like she has no one in the world and that everybody would be better of without her. Can a certain curly haired boy change her opinion?

11. Tour

I had been with the boys for almost three weeks now and for the first time in forever, everything seemed perfect. Until one morning I woke up to the sounds of raised voices downstairs. Instantly, I recognised Harry's voice and Liam's voice. Full of curiosity, I tip toed downstairs and stood in the hallway to eavesdrop.

"Look, Harry. I know it's gonna be hard but we have to go. It's part of the job," Liam exclaimed.

"I don't care Liam," Harry shouted back. "I'm not just gonna go on tour and leave her alone. You can tell she's still scarred!"

My stomach twisted. Were they arguing over me? No, they couldn't be.

I heard Liam sigh. "Harry,I know she means a lot to you but you're part of the band. We need you with us."

"Why can't she come with us? One more person can't hurt, surely."

"You know Paul won't allow that."

"Fine, then Hannah has 24/7 security whilst we're gone."

I couldn't take anymore. I burst into the room. Harry and Liam jumped.

"Hannah, what are you doing," Harry asked.

"Um, nothing. I just, I was thirsty," I stammered nervously.

Liam obviously saw through my lie.

"Hannah, were you listening in on our conversation?"

I stared at the ground sheepishly and nodded.

"I'm sorry. I just woke up and heard you guys arguing so I came downstairs to listen and then Harry said he wanted me to have 24/7 security and I kinda lost it." I turned to look at Harry. "I know that you're worried about me but I can't have security. It would feel like I was in prison and that's kinda what I just escaped from. I don't want to go through it again."

Harry looked a little ashamed. "I'm sorry Han. I just want you to feel safe. Since I have to go on tour for a month I figured you'd want someone looking out for you."

I paused. Of course I did but not some random security guard. I wanted someone I could trust.

"What about Eleanor?" I asked them. They looked at me confused.

"I met her a few nights back and she seems really nice. Couldn't she look out for me while you're gone?"

Harry and Liam nodded approvingly.

"I'm sure she'd be hounoured." said Liam. "We'll ask Louis to talk to her."

I beamed. "Thank you."

Liam then excused himself, leaving me with Harry. I smiled at him.

"Did you really mean what you said? That having a security guard would remind you of...him," he asked me.

"Yes. I mean, back then I couldn't go anywhere without him interrogating me. Most nights he would lock me in my room and physically punish me if I complained. I wasn't living, I was just existing. It was awful."

Harry looked like he wanted to cry. "Hannah, I'm so sorry. I wish I could I understood but I don't. I've never gone through anything like that before."

I lightly smiled and shrugged.

Suddenly, he took both my hands and looked me in the eye. "But I do want to help you, Hannah. You've been through so much but I want to help you move on. Anything you need, I'm right here, OK?"

My heart did a small somersault. "Thank you, Harry. From the bottom, of my heart, thank you. You are really sweet."

He smiled at my last common and turned to leave but I stopped him.

"Actually, there is one thing that I could use," I said.

"Sure anything."

I stretched my arms out. "A hug?"

Harry giggled and wrapped his arms around me in a bearhug. I smiled.

"Harry." I said.

"Promise you'll look after me?"

He hugged me tighter. "Of course I will."
