Never Broken

Hannah's life is a living hell. Her mother died two years ago and her step dad abuses her everyday. She feels like she has no one in the world and that everybody would be better of without her. Can a certain curly haired boy change her opinion?

1. Living Hell

I heard the door slam from downstairs. Even before he yelled at me, I knew he would be completely drunk. He always is. I decided to hide under my bed. He never thought to check under there. I climbed under and waited until I heard his heavy footsteps hammering up the stairs. I held my breath. Suddenly, my bedroom door swung open and he stumbled in. I closed my eyes and prayed he would leave. He didn't. "Hannah," I heard him slur. He wasn't going anywhere until he found me. I watched as his feet slowly made their way over to my bed. I couldn't take anymore. I slid out from under my bed and ran for the door. He was so drunk he probably didn't even notice. I ran down the stairs and towards the front door. I could hear him chasing after me, suddenly realising my intentions. I opened the front door and ran out into the street. I had no idea where I was going. I just kept on running. I heard him call from behind me, "This isn't over, I'll find you and make your life hell." I couldn't help but laugh. My life was already hell. I kept on running into the night.
