4. Funny How It Went

Natalie’s POV

The next day, all I could think about was the date ( I don’t know if it is one). I rushed home from school and exactly at 7pm, I was good to go. The limo arrived at 7:10pm. I gave a final look at the mirror and went downstairs and into the limo.

At the restaurant, I was directly taken upstairs to a booked table for two. While sitting there, I could hear my heartbeat in my ears. That’s when Louis arrived in black jeans, white T-shirt with a blazer on top. His hair was kinda gelled up and his eyes were even beautiful in person than in any of his pictures. He took his seat.

“Hey.” His first ever word to me.

“Hi.” My first ever word to him. And before I knew it, I was blushing.

“Wow. The dress looks great on you. And your blush too.” He gave his angelic die-for smile.

“Thanks.”I tried to give the flirtiest smile I could produce.

“So, biggest fan. What do you know about me?” I replied saying, “Everything I guess.”

“Then tell me, what am I going to order?” giving me a curious look.

My answer was more of a question, “Carrot soup?”

He gave out a big laugh. Then, pulling himself closer he said, “Honestly, I hate this place. It reminds me of a cemetery.”

“Yeah. It’s like I could literally sleep here. They seriously need to change their playlist.”

“Touché. Let’s go somewhere else.” The next thing I know, we were racing out of the restaurant before Louis’ bodyguards could spot him.

We spent the whole evening watching Hotel Transylvania in the nearest movie hall. It was hilarious. We wasted the entire popcorn throwing at each other because we were debating on the fact as to who was a better Stein- Frankenstein or Johnny-Stein. The win of Johnny Stein (my client) was inevitable. After that, I think I had too much of fun that I fell asleep and dozed off.

I’m such a sleepy-head.

Next morning, I woke up in my bed. I was still in my dress. I washed my face and went downstairs. My dad said, “Morning, princess.”

I was too curious to know, “How did I end up here?”

“Well, Louis was kind enough to carry you home. He said you lost your senses because he was looking too hot. Funny lad, I must say.” Just then, I was about to say something when I heard a knock at the front door. I went to get it.

As soon as I opened it, Louis gave a big brighter-than-sunshine smile. “Morning love,” he said. Love. Did he just say ‘love’? Oh that boy.

Louis’ POV

She asked, “Tommer! What are you doing here?” But I was too distracted to answer. I couldn’t help but notice that even at 7:00 in the morning with pillow-frictioned hair and sleepy eyes; she could simply take my breath away.

“I came by to check if you’re okay. You were pretty wasted yesterday.” I saw her dad staring at us. I think she followed my gaze because she suddenly said, “Yeah. Hey, you want to come to upstairs?”

Before I could respond, she pulled me by the hand and rushed upstairs. I followed. Her room was quite a cute one with impressive quotes from Tumblr all around. I started, “Tumblr girl huh? I like that.”

“Just for inspiration. So, what’s up?”

“Well, I’m pretty busted. Had to hear a lot from the guys for running away like that.”

“I’m sorry,” she said

“Nah. It’s not your fault. But, you’ve got to admit. It was so much fun. Hey, can I use the washroom?” She replied, “Sure.” And I went inside the washroom. I started humming my own song which I working on for quite some time

You said you wanted to cry

I should have realized

That I lost you

Right then, right then yeah.

You said you wanted to be alone

And I didn't ask for more

'Coz I lost you

Right then, right then yeah.

When I came out, Natalie looked up and said, “As far as memory serves, I don’t remember any song like that. It’s yours?”

“Yes, it’s a work in progress.” She jumped up, “It’s really good. You should sing it in your concert tonight.”

“No. I can’t. I don’t think I’m confident enough.”

“Then, lets practice. My dad has a piano downstairs. Either way, you’re singing it tonight.”

Oh god, she is so stubborn.

I argued a little more but she just wouldn't let go. Finally, all I could say was, “Only time will tell. Just so you know it’s horrible.”

"Whatever." And we headed downstairs with our hopes high.
