Shady Creek Lane

"Hey, where is Logan?"

"It's three at night!"

"Why do you always keep helping me?"

"I know I've never been there for you when you needed me."

"Promise me there won't be another fight."

"I love you..."

9. I'm Drew. And There's Nothing I Can't Do.

(Jay's POV)

I was so relieved. For a moment I thought she wouldn't accept my invitation. It was quite important for me because she was different. I could tell it the first time I saw her. Well, actually she kissed me before I even saw her. Normally I would make fun of that but she blushed right after she saw I wasn't who she thought I was. She seemed nice. And I really mean nice. She wasn't like all those mean girls around here that was rude all the time and slept with every boy they found. She was polite but funny. At least as far as I knew her she was.

After a few minutes we hung up, my phone rang. It was unknown number. I answered. "Hello?"

"Hey, it's me." It was the soft voice of a girl. Of her. She continued. "I realised that I never told my name."

I had never thought about her name. "Oh, right. What's it?"

"Alex" she said. Alex. It was beautiful. I know, I know, it's just a name but she was so pretty herself that I had a feeling that whatever her name was, I would still like it.

"Nice name." I said.

She giggled. "Thanks. Actually I didn't call you for that. Remember you talked about going out today?"

I smiled. "Yes, of course I do."

"I thought, I mean if that's okay for you too, we could go to cinema togeter in the afternoon."

That was the best idea ever. "Yeah, sure. Which movie do you wanna see? I remember there was Eternity Beach, umm... I will check them again from the internet."

"No, there's no need to that. I already got tickets for 'A Wish On A Star'."

"Oh, alright. I'd heared that it was really good." Romance? Good? I must have been out of my mind.

"I'm glad you liked it. But there's one more little detail." She paused.

"What's it?"

"There's three tickets and mom wants to come too. Actually we were going to go together and I thought of inviting you and-"

"No problem. I would really like to meet Mrs..?"

"Mrs. Lee. She must be really pretty."

"Why did you think like that?" She seemed surprised.

"You must look like somebody from the family."

"Oh," she said. I could tell that she was blushing. "Thanks."

I chuckled reassuringly. "No need to. That's just the truth."

"Thanks" she whispered.   "You're welcome." There was an awkward silence for a while.

She broke the silence. "I need to go now. See you in the afternoon."

"See you." With that I hung up.

(Alex's POV)

I pulled on my denim shorts and wore a plain white tshirt. I wore long wiggly necklaces that made a nice sight on the white tee. I put on orange nail polish. Not to sound self-centered but I was really good at putting on nail polish. I used a light tone of pink as lipstick and looked at my reflection. I didn't really like this girl that I had to be. But I had to be. I wasn't that bad actually but not special either.

"Come on Alexis, you'll be late!" mom reminded from downstairs.

"Okay mom!" I yelled back.   Just when I was in front of the stairs the door knocked.

(Drew's POV)

Now I was alone sitting in my small kitchen table. I still don't understand. How could I do that with Jade. Yeah, maybe I loved her but there was no way I could forgive her. At least I thought so. But eventually I had. But it's not my fault, I was drunk. I was unaware of it.

"What? No, I'm not going! Where do you think I can possibly go?" she literally shrieked. We were in front of my house with her bags in my hand.

"Do I care? I didn't forget what you two did to me!" I yelled back.

"Look, Drew, I know you're sad but it was a mistake. Please, you can't leave me!" Now her voice was soft and caring.

"We will see if I can or not!" I said and threw her bags on the floor. "Never 'ever' dare to come back!" With that I got in my house and called a taxi to come take her.

Once more I had played the scene in my head. Everytime I did so, I was more convinced that I had done the right thing. Who were they to cheat on me? I'm Drew. And there's nothing I can't do.

I went upsairs and changed my clothes. Now I was in my jeans and a dark green tshirt. I liked green except those neon tones. I wore a pair of Supras and got out the house. Damn! I forgot the keys of my Bentley upstairs. I quickly hatched them and drew to Angel's.
