37. Chapter 36

I think i will finish it today.. :) BUT there's a sequel.

Chapter 36:

-Harry's POV-

Just kissing her and knowing she kissed back made me happy and contained.

Something just snapped inside of me, something good.

I promised her that I wouldn't change for anything, and stay true to
myself no mattter what. And I was going to keep that.

For Jane, only.

"Mate, what she say?" Louis asks, El just giving me a disgusted look.
She probably figured out what I did obviously. I'd look at myself that
way as well, though.

I didn't answer, glumly shrugging as I walked past them.

"Harry, wait." Niall's voice stopped me as I turned around.

"She does love you, mate." He nods, smiling weakly.

I stayed silent. "Then why would she leave?" I said quietly as I sighed,
turning back to the direction I was going.

I hopped into my car, not looking back. I just wanted to get the fuck
out of here.

-Jane's POV-

I sighed, leaning my head back on the comfy airplane seat. My fingertips
touched my lips slightly, still somehow feeling the presence of Harry's
lips on mine.

Sneaking my phone out, I looked at the screen. I haven't checked my
phone ever since yesterday.

Unlocking it, I see that I have 2 unread texts and 1 missed call.

Seeing the call, it turns it out it was from an unknown number. I
decided to hear the voicemail this person left for me.

"Hi, Jane. This is Harry. You probably won't want to be hearing my voice
right now, but if you're listening..I want you know I never wanted any
of this to become so huge. I never wanted you to be angry with me. I
heard you were gonna be moving in with your mum in America.." His voice
shook at that sentence as I bit my lip.

"I just want you to know that I respect whatever choice you make, as
long as it's reasonable. Please.. I really do hope you forgive me
someday. And I wish I could forgive you too. I already did though. Bye,
Jane. I.. I think I.." He couldn't get the right words out. "Never mind.
Bye." He said straightly with a sigh before he hung up.

Tears collected in my eyes as I held my breath, fluttering my eyes closed.

If I somehow got myself to talk to him yesterday, there would still be a
possibility of me staying. But considering he came in literally five
minutes until my plane left, now I don't know.

But it was enough time for him to get the words he needed to say out.
And that was all I needed as of now. I understood him, he understood me.
That was that. And I urged myself to move on, finally.

Looking at the text messages, one was from El which I saved for me to
read later, and another one from Harry.

"Jane, I really wish you hadn't left yet. I'm coming over there to stop
you from leaving. I can't let you. -Harry xx"

I can't let you. But I did anyway.

I put my head in my hands, accidentally dropping my phone in the process
as I cried silently.

You know what, why did he have to make this so hard? All the guilt and
pain seemed to come down all in one right now, as I ran my fingers
through my hair before taking a deep breath.

"Ah. Ma'am, you dropped your phone." Some flight lady says, making me
look up. "Are you okay?" She asks.

She couldn't even care less. All these fucking plastic flight attendants
with their cake faced make up.

"I'm fine." I mumbled anyway, as I picked up my phone, not taking
another look at her.

"Oh and would you please turn off your phone as soon as the airplane

I nodded, obviously knowing that I wouldn't, and I would just put it on

"Thank you." She smiled icily before her heels clicked the floors of the
pretty airplane as she made her way down the thin corridor.

This was going to be one lonely flight.

Pretty soon, before I knew it, we had arrived. I've never been to
California in my entire life, so I'm guessing this will probably be a
big difference.

Waving off my own taxi with ease, I got into it as someone helped put my
stuff into the trunk. Leaning into the seat in silence, I stared out the
window where there was busy traffic, and nothing except a couple of
buildings. This was very different from London.

"Hello ma'am." Taxi boy says over here.

"Hello." I say as he smiled.

"You're British?" He nods approvingly.

'No shit.' I said in my head. But anyway, I just smiled back.

Throughout the whole drive, all I thought of was Harry, really.

My phone rings, making me gasp in hope that it was him calling.

Quickly answering, I pressed the phone to my ear.

"Harry?" I gushed, but a different voice spoke.

I sighed. It was just my mum.

"Harry?" She laughed suspiciously.

"Nothing, don't worry about it." I mumbled. "So why'd you call?" I
changed the subject.

"I just wanted to make sure you landed safely? And that you're driver
knows where he's going?"

"Mhm." I mumbled quietly.

"You sound a bit down, hun. What's up?"

"Nothing. It's really just that I'm gonna be missing a couple of friends
back in London." I said both glumly and bluntly.

"Oh. Sweetie, don't take this the wrong way, but why did you come if
knew you'd miss some people back in London?"

"I wanna move on, mum." I muttered, playing with my pink painted nails
that El did for me yesterday before I was going to leave.

"Well I'm not really incharge of you anymore." Her voice trailed jokingly.

I chuckled. ''Yeah, I know."

"Have you got a boyfriend yet?" Mum asked hopefully as I groaned.

''Not really, I'm kind of forever alone right now."

She laughed. "Well I was hoping you did get one."

"I earned some really amazing friends though. I can't wait for you to
someday meet them, especially one of them." I smiled.

"Is that one that Harry boy you're talking about?" I could feel her

I just laughed, shaking my head. I was cheered up just the slightest.

Today was my birthday. The day I was turning 19. YES!

I slowly rolled out of bed, me finding a note on the door.

Dear Jane,

HAPPY 19TH BIRTHDAY LOVELYY!! Sorry I couldn't be there, I had to get to
work for an early shift today. But you might like the gift I left you on
your bedside table :) Enjoy it! Hope you have a great birthday! Love you :)

I grinned, doing a small dance as I made my way over to my bedside table.

On my bedside table, was my personal and very own.. CREDIT CARD

I squealed, jumping up and down. I was going to finish this card up
today I was guessing. I had so many things I wanted.

My ipod touch ringing its default ringtone interrupted me as I gasped,
twirling around and picking it up.

It was Niall on a skype call.

I smiled, answering it quickly.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANEEE!!" All the boys except for one particular one
wasn't there right now.

"Thanks guys!" I waved wildly.

"Your hair is all.. Wahh!" Louis motioned that my hair was literally a

"Ugh, don't you play that on me, I just woke up." I pouted.

"You look beautiful." Niall winked as I giggled, wiggling my eyebrows.
"Umm.. So where's Harry?" I asked.

I haven't seen him ever since that day at the airport. Every single time
I would skype the boys or Niall, he wouldn't even show his face.. I
wondered why, but I decided to hide it and brush it off.

I managed to do that for two months.

"So what are you planning to do on your birthday, love?" Liam asks,
purprosely dodging the subject about Harry.

I shrugged. "My mum just gave me a credit card. Soo.." My voice trailed.

"Oh, well that's---"

hear El's voice in the background as I laughed, the boys laughing as well.

"I'M GONNA GET YOU SOMETHING!" I say, pointing it out to El.

"LOVE YOU FOR THAT!" I hear her again, making me smile.

"So how old are you now?" Louis asked.

"19." I grinned. "YES"

"UGHH! If you were here, we'd take you out clubbing." Niall gestured.

I'd really like to go clubbing again with them. The last time was super
crazy, but at the same time amazingly fun.

I shrugged, a small silence in between us.

"Why are you looking so glum?" Zayn asked, a girl walking up beside him
later on.

Wait. Just. A. Second.

THAT IS NOT FUNNY OH MY GOD" I nearly had a seizure. It WAS Perrie from
Little Mix. Oh my god!

She just smiled, laughing amusedly. "Zayn, how could you not tell her?"

"I didn't know she would know you!" Zayn spoke defensively as they cuddled.

"You must be Jane, right?" She nods.

I nod back, almost way to shocked to even speak.

"I think you killed her, Perrie." Niall joked, as Louis bubbled out a laugh.

"You're really pretty." I blurted out awkwardly, Jane get a hold of

They laughed at my completely embarassing moment as I mentally face palmed.

"Ha ha thanks! And happy birthday by the way!" She exclaimed, just
making me smile.

"So will you guys like answer my question? Where's Harry? And why do you
keep avoiding any certain topic about him?" I finally got myself to ask.

They just sighed, Niall biting his lip.

"Jane.." Louis' voice trailed.

"Harry, h-he's been.." Liam continued to explain.

"He's been what?" I asked. "Spit it out, guys."

Well it was my birthday. All I wanted to do was talk to him, and say hi.

"Okay, listen. Harry's been hooking up with a girl this past month."
Zayn breathed out as the silence just filled the atmosphere.

"Jane?" Niall tried to ask.

"I.. It's okay. It doesn't matter." I shrugged nonchalantly.

But all in my head was me saying.. What?!

"Jane, it does matter." Liam groaned.

"That blond bitch is taking our Hazza away. And plus she is nothing
compared to you."

"She' blond." I confirmed. They nodded. "Well you guys shouldn't be
saying that..I'm totally fine with Harry moving on, I mean I've moved
on." I lied.

Look at me. I'm still as single as a pringle right now.

Just the thought of seeing Harry with another girl in bed made me
cringe. I couldn't believe it, but you know what? I was going to force
myself to think I was okay with it.

"But all I really wanted for my birthday was to talk to him." I said
quietly, they could barely even hear it.

"Well of coarse you could talk to him. I think that'll slap some sense
into him." Louis nods. "If you saw her, I mean you would----"

"UGH HARRY WHERE ARE MY THINGS?!" I hear a snotty girl voice from
somewhere. For sure that wasn't Perrie /or/ Eleanor.

"Coming, I'm coming babe." I hear Harry answer, as my eyes widened. My
palms were sweating.

"Shit guys I change my mind, I-I don't want to talk to him. I'm scared.
Two months is a long time and I think I'm better off without talking to
him right now." I rushed nervously.

"No Jane, we NEED you to talk to him!" Louis exclaimed.

"I'm hanging up!" I say as they all seemed to scream a no all at once,
but I tapped on end call.

I ran my fingers through my messy hair, walking into the bathroom along
with my ipod.

Washing my face and brushing down my hair for now, I was about to brush
my teeth, until my ipod starting to ring loudly once again.

I was hesitant about answering it again.. But I got myself to anyway.

Thinking it was going to be either a Louis or Niall, it wasn't.

The mop of curls and the green eyes were still right there.

He smiled smugly. "Wanted to talk to me?"

My eyes widened, as I turned off the tap, nervously turning the ipod
face down onto the counter as I breathed out.

When I thought he was gone, his voice made me jump.

"I'm still here, Jane."

"Shit." I whispered, closing my eyes.

"Well I guess I better go.." His voice trailed teasingly, as I got
myself to pull it up.

I frowned at him.

"Happy birthday, love." He smiled naturally, as if nothing happened
throughout that whole two months. How could he be so oblivious? We
hadn't talked for months, and he's pretending as if we talked recently.

"Harry, where were you?" I asked.

"I thought you wanted us to move on? I sure moved on." He shrugged

I bit down on my lower lip, a flash of sadness filling my expression.
"You know I didn't mean it like that." I bit back.

"Don't be sad love, it's your special day." He goes.

"How can I not be sad? Harry I have been going crazy." I gushed,
throwing my arms up into the air in frustration. "So you're fucking
someone to keep your mind off of me, is that it?" I tilted my head to
the side.

"Jane, I really like her." He says sternly.

"Well that isn't what the boys were telling me." I grumbled.

"I swear, she is really nice."

"Not based on what I've heard." I crossed my arms over my chest. "Harry,
why didn't you talk to me?''

"I told you that I moved on, Jane." It seems as if there was more to
what he was trying to say, but he was holding himself back.

After a brief silence, I spoke up.

"I moved on too." I shrugged.

"Oh you did." He said with sarcasm.

"Yes I have, and I'm.. I'm dating Niall." I blurted out the first thing
that came to mind. Oh my god.. I really just said that.

He rose his eyebrows, his eyes staring right into mine, even though it
was just through skype.

Stay cool Jane..
