Dead End

KC Circuit isn't a race track. She's a normal teenage girl who takes a fancy to training sports or self defense, or painting with metallics.

Her life is really put to the test when everything changes. The once crowded streets of her hometown, Silverville, are teeming with parasites so vicious, it can change the way of humanity. And not in the way that people the way that people die, and come crawling back to life.
Zombies. And they're out to get her.

9. The Fight For Food

KC wandered the streets cautiously. Katie hadn't been lying when she'd mentioned the fact that KC and herself knew martial arts and kick boxing. KC was more into martial arts. But she was just as good at kick boxing as Katie.

KC turned a corner, and stopped dead in her tracks. Zombies. A whole bunch of them. And...great. They were invading Azda. Perfect. So. Bloody. Perfect.

KC wasn't quite sure how she could get past them. Maybe some sort of distraction? No. They would catch on quick. How many were there?

Quickly, KC mentally counted them. Then she looked up the street to see if there were any more. Not too many. They were mostly walking through broken glass in the fancy dress shop. How weird. They'd fit in well, she thought bluntly.

Slowly, KC crept closer Azda. It was sort of big, and had it's own car park, but from what KC could tell, there weren't as many Zombie's as she'd first thought. She crept towards the Azda, watching out around her as she did so. She didn't want any Zombies following after her, ready to creep up on her and tear through her skull.

She counted five, but she wasn't sure if there were any inside. She hid behind a few recycling bins. Step by step, she suddenly stuck her head out from behind them. She could see a few figures moving quickly in the opposite direction. Was there a back door she could use? No, there would be a code. She was going to have to go through the front of the building, and that was that.

She thought quickly of a few moves that would be good to use on a fast pace Zombie. That's when she pegged it across the car park, attracting attention. All googley eyes were on her, as she raced past the baffled Zombies and into the store. She turned around on the spot, and dragged, as quickly as she could, a few heavy baskets full of bouncy balls, blocking the exits. For Zombies who moved quick, they weren't fast thinkers. She'd blocked both doors before any of them had even moved an inch. Maybe they were elderly Zombies. Not that it mattered. They'd still rip her into tiny pieces if they could.

Growling started behind her. Okay, she hadn't really thought this through well. Slowly, as if she weren't moving at all, KC slid a ball into her hands. It was rubber and had Barbie and Ken printed on the cover, and as quick as lightening, she spun round, and dazed who ever was standing there. To her ultimate relief, it was just the one Zombie. But she knew there had to be many more.
