Forbidden ~ Harry Styles ~ (On Hold)

* Harry is not famous in this story *

Many say how there are two kinds of people in this world.

In Pax town there certainly are two kinds of very different people. I never really understood the name of our little town, after all "pax" means peaceful in latin, but believe me, we're anything but.

From a very young age I've been told to stay away from them. You may call them The Rebels, but out here everyone calls them the lower class, the scums, the bastards.

We are very different from them, like North and South, hot and cold; we're complete opposites. Besides the constant rumours about them going around, I can't help but think what it would be like to be them for a day....

My father would never allow it. He'd never let his only daughter do anything close to danger.
Apart from all the warnings, there's always one of the rebels who catches my eye.

I believe his name is Harry, Harry Styles.

16. Preparations

"That colour looks absolutely wonderful on you!"

After being made to twirl around for hours I had no desire to pay attention to what anyone had to say about colours, fabrics or designs.

A sigh left my lips, only everyone around me thought it was from happiness rather than how blue I was feeling inside.

"She looks like an absolute angel." Of course, how could I ever forget about Luke's many cousins. His family carried the female gene quite strongly, three older ones, four juniors and twins on the way, from only one of his five aunties. Most of them stayed with their parents, but the three seniors begged to help with preparations.

Here they sat, the lightest shade of blonde on their heads in delicate buns or braided. They even shared they same brown eyes, it was almost a mystery how the genes were so precise.

Their chins were quite wide, as all of Luke's family had inherited the trait of wider jaws and recessive foreheads.

"Do you like it?" The eldest one asked. Her name was Emily and at 26 years old, she had already married to with whom she was expecting. Her interest were all too common to entertain me, but I did try my hardest to enjoy my afternoons with her.

"Its nice, but must we really discuss this so early?" The 'wedding' wasn't until two weeks, I knew because I had counted the days of my freedom.

"Nonsense! There's no time to waste." I held my breath as Amy, another one of Luke's cousin, wrapped a white silk belt around my waist all too tight for my liking.

"What are you doing?" Emily interrupted her, "Patterned fabrics will go much better with her dress." With a wave of her hand, she wrapped a belt of her own just below my breasts.

They both fought an endless battle about which piece of fabric they would suffocate me with on my wedding day.

Finally, they decided to turn to their sister for some form of help. "What do you think, dear?" Hellen finally looked up from her painted finger tips and pursed her lips as if in thought.

"You're both right about a certain aspect. Now for what's really important, how many young gentlemen will attend this little festivity?" I raised an eyebrow at that knowing exactly what she meant.

How could I have ever thought that she was only here to help? She was frantically searching for men.

With her elder sister married and Amy completely won by a certain lover, she was the only one left in the market. Only she didn't seek to start a family or find her one and only, instead a night full of passion and sins would do for her.

"Oh, dear sister, when will you grow out of your perverted ways?" I could more than agree with Emily's accusation, not once did I find myself eager to know where her thoughts wondered throughout the days.

"Simple. When a man gives me more than enough." I lowly snickered, her wealth was certainly not enough for her, "But I've heard more than enough from the people, what do they call them again? Rebels?"

My heart stopped for a few seconds as I studied her carefully. Her smile turned seductive and she stood up beside me, taking up most of the mirror with her reflection.

"What are you talking about, dear sister?" Amy was just as curious as Emily and I patiently awaited for the words that I dreaded the most.

Hellen carefully unwrapped one of the silk belts and twirled it around her figure before continuing. "I heard his name is Harry." If my heart wasn't beating before, now it was catching up for the time lost, "They say he's dangerous," I quietly laughed at that, definitely terrifying. "And that he likes trouble, but especially to stay away from him." She had gotten all the warnings that I had been told. She waited for a moment, still wrapping the thin fabric around herself. "Just how I like my men."

"I certainly hope you're not going after him." I stayed quiet whilst Amy warned her younger sibling. As much as I agreed and wanted nothing more than to prevent her from saying such things, I had to remind myself that no one truly knew about Harry and I apart from his family.

"It's no secret how I handle my men, Amy. Are you scared that I'll ruin our family's good name by marrying a 'rebel'?" The tone she used was full of humour, little did she know that I had considered what it would be like to be married to him. Surely everyone in my family would disapprove, call it a shame and turn their heads.

"What's going on in your head, Rachel?" Brushing off her sister's mocking voice, Amy turned to me with new interest.

I had grown quiet once I figured that there was no stopping this wedding. So much had changed in very little time that I didn't realize it would hurt us both.

"I'm sure it's just the stress of preparations that has got me at loss for words." I lied right through my teeth. I gritted my teeth as the words that Hellen shared constantly replayed through my head. Jealousy can certainly be an ugly thing.

The sound of the door opening caught my attention.

"I just bet that is our cousin." Emily whispered with strong certainty, "Don't you worry, I'll take care of him." I was silently relieved and thanked her.

Over the last few days Luke had grown more and more attached is possible. He thought that constantly being by my side was a necessity now, as if he was waiting for something to happen.

"I've told you, you can't come in! It must be a surprise until the big day." I cringed at the reminder but listened carefully for any excuses that Luke may have. Surprisingly, he had none.

"Alright, ladies. Remind Rachel about our dinner plans tonight, tell her to be ready at the usual time."

Luke's romantic evenings were always the same. Dinner, a walk which we'd take a certain route for, until he got to my door where he would try to kiss me. His lips felt so wrong on mine that I didn't have the heart nor mind to kiss him.

"Alright, Rachel, get undressed and put on the dress we've set aside for you. Next is the beverage tasting!" Emily directed with a voice full of demand.

Let the preparations begin.

Short chapter but very important to the plot! Yes I'm continuing the story, perhaps at a slower rate but it's being written as well as undergoing a bit of editing. Thanks for reading. xo
