Three Words

Jordan Stewart, a junior in Alburry Hills High School, is not book smart nor is she street smart. She is just a regular girl with average grades and a decent piece of mind. The only thing in her way is the leather jacket and the black sun glasses, followed by the facial appearance of black hair and gorgeous hazel brown eyes.

4. Unregular Day

The whole way through the movie was a bore. Not only did I feel distracted by the movie's boredom, but I was also distracted by what Zayn's been doing. He was being really nice earlier. It could be a plan to destroy me once again, or maybe it's just a plan to distract me. Maybe he'll be back to normal tomorrow. There's really no doubt. My thoughts were distracted by the standing of the crowds being let out of the room. The movie had ended.

"Wasn't that movie amazing?" Louis gasped. I nodded my head, even though I didn't even know what the movie was about. I got out my phone and turned it back on. Of course, it was being slow so I put it back in my pocket and grabbed my wallet.

"Maybe we should go out for dinner." I suggested as we walked to Jesse's car. They all agreed and sat in the car. As I rested my arm on the door, I could just imagine the pranks that will be held for me once we get back to school tomorrow morning. I don't know what Zayn's up to, but I don't like it. I quickly checked my phone and noticed that he texted. Speaking of the devil. "Enjoy the movie. xxx" he sent. Why would he care if I was or not. I rolled my eyes. "She didn't text back." I sent, putting my phone in my lap.

"So where to?" I heard Liam ask all of us with a smile. I was in the back, Liam was in the passenger, Jesse was driving, and Louis sat with me on the other side. I slowly breathed in and looked at my phone as the others discussed the plans. "Good. I've got to go see Stacy so I'll see you tomorrow(;" he sent. I double took the winky face, staring at it. He was planning something. I didn't reply. I was too over in thought to text anything. My thoughts were distracted by the sound of a car being pulled into the Kings drive way. I smirked, I love Kings. We all walked in and got to our table, looking through the menu. I felt someone's breath on my neck, their face so close to my ear.

"So who was Jordan texting?" I heard Louis whisper. I shook my head.

"Not much." is all I said. He gave me a weird look, grabbing out his phone. I guess we were going to send messages. Liam was talking to Jesse, obviously she had been paying attention, when my phone buzzed. "You shouldn't text that boy.. x" Louis sent. I glared at him, who acted if he was paying attention to the lovely Jiam mash over there. Why couldn't they just date. I turned back to my phone and replied. "He asked about our English project." I sent him. It wasn't long before he replied. "I think you fancy.. x" Louis sent. I put my phone in my pocket and looked at the oncoming waitress.

Louis wasn't exactly right. I did like him in what, the first two months of last year? Before he bullied me? Yeah. No one really knew... except Louis, of course. I rolled my eyes and looked at the waitress, who was staring at me. I guess the whole table was staring.

"W-what?" I heard myself mumbled.

"I heard Jordan say she wants a chocolate milkshake." Louis told the waitress, even though I hated milkshakes. Louis knew, though. The waitress wrote down some things in her pad and walked away from the table. The group looked at me.

"Are you okay? You've been a tad uneasy since I came over earlier." I heard Jesse ask. I nodded at the group and breathed in.

"I guess the double team up of Zayn and Stacy are just two overwhelming right now." I told them, wishing everyone would just look away.

"Well hey, we're here for you." Liam told me, patting my hand that had been resting on the table. I nodded, mouthing the words 'Thank You.'

Dinner the rest of the night was a bit lazy but it was still fun chatting it up with my friends. The next morning, I heard the annoying ringing beeping in my face. I fluttered my eyes opened and noticed the alarm clock still on wake-up mode. I turned it off and rolled into upwards position. Stretching my arms out to my sides, I checked my phone for any unread messages. Sadly, one message. "Hey I'll be over around 8:10 to pick you up. xxx" Zayn had sent. "I think you texted the wrong number." I sent to Zayn. I got up and grabbed my today clothes and hopped into the shower. Once again, the water beamed down on my face, warming me up on the surface of my cold skin. I washed my hear and body and then stood in the shower, just thinking. School wasn't all bad except for Stacy and Zayn, but there isn't any reason to hate on myself. I know I have my haters and I know I have my family and friends who will always be there for me. I just love every single one of those people. I might just walk today, just to clear my head out. I quickly jumped out of the shower and put on my navy blue shirt with little white polka dots with my blue jean short shorts and my white flip flops. My hair was in its naturally loose curls today, finally, and I had left the bathroom a bit early this morning. I checked my phone and clicked on Jesse's number. "Hey, I might just walk today. I'll see you at school." I sent. I walked downstairs and smiled at my dad and Steven, who were a bit surprised to see me this early.

"Why are you up this early?" dad asked, a bit curious. I shrugged, looking at my phone.

"I guess I just felt the need to get up on time." I told him, grabbing a banana. I got out a little Sunny D bottle and walked over to the door.

"I'm going to head to school. See you later." I waved goodbye, walking out the door. As I made my way down the steps, I noticed the same dark blue car from yesterday. The car door opened to find Zayn stepping out with a smile on his face.

"What do you want now?" I asked in an annoyed accent. He chuckled to himself.

"I texted you. I was going to come at 8:10." he smirked, looking at his watch. "Well, I'm a bit later than I thought."

"Well how do I know you're not going to throw me in the garbage can or push me down the stairs once we get to school?" I asked, looking at him. He looked at the ground, a bit hurt? Did I actually hurt him? Thank god. I started on the path of school when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned to see Zayn starring at me.

"I don't get why you hate me so much." Zayn mumbled. My eyes widened, staring down into his.

"Let's paint a picture, shall we? You push me down, you pull chairs away from me, you snap my pencils, you've always been such a dick." I started, beginning to speak in a louder tone.

"Is there some plan that Stacy put you up to? Is there some plan to make you be nice and then turn your back?" I questioned, staring at him. He was speechless. Of course, I was right. I turned away and continued walking until I felt his hand on my arm. He rushed in front of me, stopping me in my tracks.

"Or maybe I was just trying to be nicer for once?" he questioned, looking at me. I rolled my eyes and smirked.

"Yeah, good luck with that. I'm going to be late if you don-"

"Let me take you to school then. It's a lot easier." Zayn pled, staring into my eyes. He had his hands together, fingers crossed. He seemed to be begging now. I chuckled to myself.

"I must be stupid." I whispered, walking to his car. He walked to my side and opened the door for me. When I got in, he closed my door and walked on the other side.

"See, is this so hard?" he asked, buckling up. I did the same and just stared into the distance as he drove. We sat in silence until we reached the school.

"Let me out here." I mumbled.

"Why?" he asked at a red light.

"That way you aren't seen with me, I don't know." I suggested. He laughed to himself, going on the green light.

"If someone sees, then someone sees." he tells him, staring onto the road still.

"You're girlfriend? A.k.a, the girl who HATES me?" I asked as he pulled into the driveway. He smiled to himself and glanced at me.

"We broke up." he mumbled, still giving a smirk.

"Oh... I'm sorry?" I was questioning if that was a good thing or not. Well, it was for me.

"It's alright. I broke up with her." he stepped out of the car and over to my side, opening the door slowly. I smirked at Zayn and stepped out.

"Why are you being nice? If you guys broke up and she sees you with me, she'll kill both of us." I told him. He shrugged.

"Just because I gave you a ride, doesn't mean we're off the hook." he mumbled next to my ear, still looking at me. I just gave him a weird glance as I closed the door behind me.

"Well thanks, I guess." I whispered, starting to slowly walk away, but he followed.

"No problem." he said, looking off at the distance. I looked up and noticed Stacy glancing at us. Shit. She gave us a smirk and quickly turned around, storming away. I glanced at Zayn, who was chuckling to himself.

"What?" I asked, obviously knowing what he was laughing at.

"Her... she's such a bitch." he smirked, looking at me. "I'm going to head to my friends. This whole morning didn't happen." he mumbled, darting into my eyes. I nodded, giving him a reassuring smile. He then did the same. He smiled. At me. It wasn't one of those evil smirks or devil glares, but an actual smile. It was kind of cute, to say. He then turned and walked out of the parkling lot to meet up with his friends. I did the same, but to my friends. I then heard a ruffle in the bushes, followed by a psst.

"Jordan. Over here." I heard someone whisper. I glanced over to the bush, noticing Louis in my presence.

"Louis? What are you doing?" I asked him. He stepped out of the bush.

"Why did you arrive in Zayn's car?" he asked me, a bit shocked. I covered his mouth, hoping he wouldn't say another word.

"Don't tell anyone. He just gave me a ride. That was it. Please don't tell anyone. Especially Jesse. I completely lied to her, not intentionally." I told him, begging he wouldn't say anything.

"Okay, but it'll cost you." he smirked, acting as if he was from the wild west. I rolled my eyes and went into my wallet, giving him a twenty. He put it in my pants and smiled.

"Let's just get to class." I mumbled as the bell rang. He smirked, looking at me.

"You know, you're not really a good liar. Who has a project in English on the first day? Let me deal with this." Louis smirked one more, patting my back.

"Thanks...I think?" I shrugged him off and got to my locker. As I put my combo in, I noticed Stacy staring over at me. I glance at her and see her with a devilish glare. I look back at what I am doing, opening my locker to find strawberry smoothie all over my locker. My jaw drops as I glance back over at Stacy, who had rushed over. That's when I noticed her hand move up at me, a cup in her hand. Her cup went to an immediate stop, the smoothie inside still in motion and slapping my face. I stare at her, absolutely mad at what had just happened. She giggled to herself and stepped closer, having her lips next to my ear.

"Next time, don't walk with my boyfriend." she whispered, walking away. I quickly grabbed my stuff and slammed my locker door, rushing into the bathroom. My hair was ruined, my clothes were a mess, and I smelled of Strawberry smoothie. I was so angry. It took me awhile before I finally had my face and hair cleared off as I walked to class. Ms. Hanson stared at me as I entered the room.

"Miss Stewart? Why have you come late?" she asked me. Everyone's eyes sat on me, even Zayn's. He didn't seem to be laughing. His moods have been freaking me out lately.

"I was in the bathroom." I could tell everyone still noticed that I had smoothie splashed on me. I ignored everyone and sat down quickly, grabbing my pencil. I could still feel Zayn's eyes on me, but I ignored him and started on notes. I breathed in, staring up at the bored. School was a big blur right now. I couldn't understand anything she was teaching us. I just put my head down and rested my eyes. I kind of just want to disappear, but I know I couldn't. It's only first period. I lifted my head to notice that everyone was packing up. I did the same and as the bell rang, I grabbed my things. Except my book. Where was my book? I looked around, hoping that I brought it to class. I heard someone's throat being cleared.

"Looking for something?" I heard Zayn's voice ask, staring into my eyes. I grabbed the book and packed the rest of my things up.

"I see that Stacy got to you, huh?" he asked me. I nodded, lightly scared about her anymore. He chuckled and sat on the surface of the desk.

"I don't get why you're being so nice." I mumbled, putting my books in my arms. He thought for a moment and smiled.

"Maybe I just don't have anything to be mean about anymore." is all he said. I gave him a strange look, but he waved goodbye and left the class room. I left too, going to my class.

It was finally lunch time and I couldn't stop thinking about what Zayn had said. How can someone be so serious about that? I shook off that thought and looked around the room. Stacy was at her table being a slut as always. I glanced to my table and noticed my friends, all of them this time, sitting at our table. I smiled at them, sitting down next to Louis. He just stared at me and smirked.

"Jesse, what's all over your shirt?" she asked me.

"I believe it is strawberry smoothie." I mumbled, staring over at Jesse and Liam. Liam's eyes went from Jesse's to mine, a bit shocked now.

"Stacy, huh?" Louis asked, still looking into my eyes. He was looking for something, and I didn't know what. I mean, there wasn't nothing that I was hiding. Well, nothing that he already knew of.

"Yeah. It's fine though. I'm going to find food." I told them, standing up. I walked over to the lunch side and grabbed a square pizza, a milk, some fruit, and green beans, then walked back down to my table. As I made my way down the aisle, I felt an arm pull me down to the table next to me. Zayn stared at me and smiled.

"How about you come sit with me?" he asked, looking into my eyes. I shook my head.

"I already told Jesse, Liam, and Louis that I was with them, I can't ditch." I shrugged, looking into his eyes. I knew he was thinking about something, I just couldn't tell what. He smiled and got up.

"May I join you?" he asked, giving me an excited look. I nodded.

"I guess." we made our way over to our table, where the other three were looking at me as if I was crazy. Zayn and I sat down on the other side of Louis and smiled.

"Hey Jordan. You bring a little... fr-riend?" Liam was hesitant about his question. Zayn shrugged at him and put on a show.

"I was wondering if Jordan knew our project in English was to sit with each other's friends. You know, since we're partners and all." Zayn lied. I knew it was a lie but Jesse shrugged and put some lettuce in her mouth. I wasn't a salad person, really. I thought it was grass with some veggie toppings. Not much of a food.

"So Jordan. Can you tell me a little bit more about your friends?" he asked, keeping the lie on task.

"Well, Jesse is a great friend and she's very smart. Liam's very nice and kind when it comes to others. Louis is really loud and he has nice hair." I told him, a bit confused. Zayn nodded his head as if he was interested. He might have been but I couldn't tell because all I really thought of was what he was doing. I got my phone out and text Zayn quickly. "What are you doing?" I sent, looking back up at my food. I was starving. I shoved the pizza in my mouth, obviously being lady like. It wasn't until soon when I felt Zayn had texted me back. I checked my phone found a shocker. "Being nice. xxx" he had sent. I glanced at him, but he wouldn't even nudge a little look over at me. He was too busy trying to hit up a conversation with Liam. Liam and Zayn were also bad together. They played it hard last year when Zayn had bullied me regularly. Liam has always been there for me through thick and thin and I'm glad that I've got him as my friend. Zayn then glanced at me with a regular smile.

"You're friends are nice. Maybe tomorrow you can meet mine?" he asked, obviously wanting me to sit with him tomorrow. Maybe there was something he had planned. No one can go from being rude and being a bully to someone completely nice without an explanation. I nodded, still a bit confused.

"Sure." is all that came out. I had thrown my stuff away and as the bell rang, I heard footstep rush over to me. Zayn, of course. He was freaking me out for the last time. I turned around and stopped him.

"Zayn, what the hell are you doing?" I asked him. He stopped in his tracks.

"What?" he was confused.

"You're being nice to me. You're following me around like a lost puppy. You're suppose to avoid me and be a total douche to me like normal. What's gotten into you?" I asked, a bit pissed. He needs to leave me alone. I know, I'm being a bit harsh but he's done worse and I'm finally standing up to myself. Zayn just gave me a hurt expression.

"I'm sorry." he mumbled, walking away. I watched as he slowly made his way down the hall and into another classroom. Oh boy, something was up.
