The hit girl band The Only Way, meets the hit boy band, One Direction. The girls all have boyfriends, but will the boys get in the way of that?

35. Pomp and Circumstance

Cole's POV

I woke up screaming. “What's wrong love?” Louis asked in a panic. I looked around to see Nic's bedroom surrounding me and the rest of the girls.

“I just had the worst dream ever...”

“What happened?”

“We were at graduation and Nic and I had just gotten our diplomas when someone shot us.”

“I'm really freaked out about the whole thing.”

“It's going to be ok love.” Lou said attempting to calm me down.

“What if that really happens?”

“It's not going to babe. I promise. I'll be there with you through it all. And I found your dress, it was draped over the couch.”

“Not on Nic's door?”

“Good.” I said smiling, in hopes my nightmare wouldn't come true.

“Hurry up and get ready, don't wanna be late!”

The girls and I quickly got ready for graduation, all of us looking stunning, of course. We arrived at the school and did all the same things I did in my dream, just slight variations. When they ushered us into the stadium, Nic and I took our seats on stage. We listened to the introduction, the choir sang, the president gave his speech then it was our turn. We sang Sing again but my speech was a little different.

“Hello everyone, and thanks again for coming. I'm Nicole Bonsell, member of the graduating class, sort of...” I said receiving a laugh. “But anyway, thank you Mr. Meters for the opportunity you've given not only me, but also Nicole and Virginia. We're eternally grateful. Now to my class. Well guys we're done! I remember thinking I'm never getting out of High School. And I might have managed to a little sooner than planned, but we're graduating, right here. Right now. I've always dreamt about what graduating would be like, but I never expected this. When we walked through the doors in Kindergarten, graduation wasn't important. We didn't even know what it was really! Then we grew up a little bit and we weren't concerned about graduating, but rather being in sixth grade and going on the field trip to the Capitol Building and Hershey. Honestly though, nobody cared about the first part of our trip.” I paused for everyone's laughter. “Then we moved schools, we left our comfort zone and made new friends. But soon the thought of growing up and leaving high was consuming almost every thought. And it's arrived...Congratulations, we've done it!”

I turned around to hug Nicole before we all received our diplomas. It seemed like nothing would be the same, but in all reality, nothing was changing for us. We'd already been out of high school.

I was awoken from my thoughts when I heard them call Nic's name. “Nicole Renee Walzer.” She received her diploma and shook hands with everyone until she made it to the other side of the stage. “Nicole Elizabeth Bonsell.” Time was going in slow motion. I got my diploma and shook hands with various members of our school board and then I reached Mr. Meters. He became superintendent the year before I left. He was so supportive of my majorette squad, we'd manage to become really close. I gave him a hug and he whispered “I'm so proud of you.” That was almost the icing on the cake for the day.

After everyone was through the president of the school board gave his little acceptance of the board speech. Nobody was really paying any attention to that, all we cared about were his next few words, “Congratulations, you are all now graduates of The Bald Eagle Area School District.” We all turned our tassels, and threw our caps up in the air. The feeling was completely surreal. All of the friends and family rushed down to the field to congratulate us. I hugged all my friends who had also just graduated and I was just chatting when my eyes met with Louis'. I briskly walked towards him and he started a light jog. It was like we hadn't seen each other in years. When we finally met he hugged me and of course, we started kissing.

“Congratulations beautiful!”

“Thank you!” Shortly behind him were the other boys and our families. After what felt like a thousand pictures later we finally decided to leave.

We all went out and got some food before parting ways. We had to return to Nic's house to get our stuff but after that we all went to our hotel. Harry and Lou decided that we were going out to celebrate, but since only Louis could legally drink we decided to just go to dinner and a movie.

Dinner was crazy because we're four celebrities out on the town, but the movies weren't as bad. After that we decided to retire to our rooms.

“So how was your day babe?”

“I'm so proud of you, I know you worked really hard to keep your grades up while you were gone, and you still managed to graduate with honors!”

“Thank you. It means a lot to me. Really.” I placed a kiss on his nose. “I've had a wonderful day, but I miss our house!” I said laughing.

“The house that we spent entirely too much money on?” He said laughing along with me.

“We could afford it!”

“The house yes, but you went crazy furnishing it.”

“I wanted it to be perfect!”

“And it is..”

“Are you really choosing now to fight with me about this.”

“I'm not fighting with you, I'm just saying.”

“We could afford it, and I'm leaving it at that.”

“You didn't even ask my opinion.”

“The whole reason we bought a new house was so it was ours, not yours and not mine.”

“It is ours.”

“You decorated the whole thing.”

“You were in the hospital!”

“It didn't have to be done right then and there!”

“I wasn't going back to that place where your blood was all over the floor!”

“You could have redone the floors!”

“Do you not like what I've done with the place?”

“It's not that.”

“Then enlighten me, what is it?”

“I still feel like it's your house.”

“I have to take a breather. I can't be in here right now.”

Nic's POV

Harry and I could hear every word through the walls. Talking at a normal level was not Cole's specialty. And boy did Lou have a pair of lungs.

“I can't believe their fighting.” I said rolling over to look at Harry.

“I can. They've been fighting a lot lately.”

“You don't think it's gonna end do you?”

“No. They're crazy about each other. I think they're scared of loosing each other.”

“They're insane.”

“I don't think they are.” Harry said seriously.

“How so?”

“Louis was shot. That's all that's on Nicole's mind.”

“What about Louis?”

“He's afraid Nicole's going to realize their age difference sucks.”

“It's three years.”

“Louis doesn't care, but he's afraid Nicole secretly does.”

“She doesn't and Lou is safe.”

“I understand it. We don't understand the age thing because we're barely a year apart. And I wasn't shot. But I get it.”

“I guess you're right.” I gave him a quick kiss. What we heard in the other room was no longer fighting, but something gross.

“Looks like they aren't fighting anymore.”

“Ew. Can we not talk about this? Let's play some music and go to sleep. I love you.”

“I love you too.”
