I'm working on it now along with other fanfics that will be up soon.)

7. Chapter 7 Cheering Up

The door opened and Harry stepped in cautiously, “I got worried when you didn’t answer my calls last night and I just wanted to make sure you were okay.” He came and sat down beside me.

“He’s gone.” I said quietly, bringing my knees to my chest.

“What, who’s gone?”

“My dad, he’s dead, gone, never coming back.”

“Rebekah, I’m so sorry.” He cautiously brought me into a hug. “I’m so, so sorry.” I could feel tears coming to my eyes again as I buried my face into his chest. “Shh, Beka, it’s okay, everything’s gonna be alright.”

“No it’s not, he’s gone, Harry, h-he’s gone! I-I’ll never see him again, how can you say everything will b-be alright?!” I asked between sobs.

“I know, but everything will turn out alright in the end.” He said stroking my hair. After a few minutes of the only sound in the room being my sobs, Harry spoke up.  “Okay, you’re not gonna do this, we’re going out.”

“What?” I asked as he pulled away.

“We’re going out to get your mind off of things; you just need to get away from here.”

“Harry, I don’t want to go out.”

“Beka, I am not gonna let you coop yourself up; we’re going out and that’s final. Even if I have to drag you out of here. Now, go get cleaned up and changed, I’ll be waiting downstairs.” I knew Harry wasn’t joking when he said he would drag me when I saw the seriousness in his eyes. He kissed my cheek and left the room. I lazily got up from my bed and showered. After I was done, I got ready. When I finished, I looked like this: I walked downstairs. I walked into the living room to find my mom and Harry talking.

My mom noticed me, “Beka,” My mom came over and pulled me into a hug, we stayed like that for a while, in silence. “Are you alright?”

“As good as I can be in this situation.”

“I know it’ll be hard, but try to get your mind off everything.”

“I’ll try.” Harry and I left and he said that we were all going to meet up at Louis’ for a while. When we pulled into the drive Harry got out and ran over to my side, opening my door. He held his hand out, which I gladly took, and he pulled me from my seat.  We went up to the door and Harry knocked. A few seconds later, the door opened revealing Louis.

“Hey guys.” Louis said stepping aside and letting us in. After he shut the door he pulled me into a hug. “I’m sorry.” He whispered in my ear.

I gave him a small, weak smile when we pulled away. “Thanks.” I said quietly, my voice still a bit raspy.

“Of course. Boys, they’re here!” Louis shouted. I heard feet pounding on the hardwood floor, and then Niall, Liam and Zayn appeared fin the hall.

“Hey boys.” Harry said.

“Hey Harry.” They replied before they pulled me into a group hug, all whispering apologies after we pulled away, we all went into the living room.

“So what do you want to do?” Niall asked.

“I don’t know, I guess just hang out.” I said, not really in the mood to do anything.

“Movie day?” Zayn suggested.

We all agreed. “Toy Story marathon?” Liam asked.

The boys groaned. “Not again Liam.” Louis whined.

“What, they’re good films.” Liam defended.

“Ya, but every time we have a movie day, we always have to watch them.”

“Well I think Rebekah should decide.” Liam turned to me.

“Hey, don’t bring me into this. You guys need to figure this out, ‘cause I don’t want to pick.” I said.

“But you’re the guest.” Harry said, poking my side.

I swatted his hand away. “C’mon, I’m really not in the mood, please.”

Harry’s expression went from playful to soft. He pulled me into a hug. “Beka, don’t beat yourself up about it.” He whispered, stroking my hair.

“I just, don’t know what to do.”

“There’s nothing you can do.”

The boys came and brought us into a group hug, all whispering encouraging things to me. “Do you want to go home, or stay here?” Harry asked.

“No, no, I really do need to be out of my house.”

“Okay, let’s watch a movie now, yeah?”

“Yeah.” We ended up watching all three X-Men movies. Half way through the last one, my phone buzzed, signaling I had a text. I unlocked my phone and saw that my mom had texted me saying that Max was at the house. “Hey, Max is at the house, I got to go.” I whispered to Harry.

“Okay.” He whispered back. “Boys, me and Beka gotta go. I’ll be back.” The boys all hugged me goodbye, then Harry and I left.

“So who exactly is Max? You’re boyfriend?” Harry asked, as he started the car.

“No, no, Max is my dad’s best friend, he’s practically my uncle.”

“Oh, okay. Are you okay?”

“I mean, as good as anybody could be right now in my situation.” I smiled sadly.

He found my hand and gave it a small squeeze. “Everything will be alright, I promise.” The rest of the car ride was spent in comfortable silence. We pulled into my driveway and I pecked Harry on the cheek.

“Thank you, Harry.” I said. I got out of the car, right before I shut the door, I turned back. “Harry?”

“Ya, Beka?”

“Will you go to the funeral with me?”

He got out of the car and came around to me. He wrapped me in a hug, kissing my head. “Of course, I’d do anything for you.” I wrapped my arms around his neck, clinging to him.

“Thank you.” I whispered.

“Like I said, anything for you.” He pulled back, and kissed my cheek. “Bye Beka.”

“Bye Harry, see you later.”

“See ya.” He got back in his car and drove off. I walked into the house.

“I’m home.” I called.

Max walked into the foyer. “Hey kiddo.” He pulled me into a hug. “How are you?”

“Well, you know, could be better.”

“I know, I’m sorry.”

“It’s not your fault. Do you know what happened?”

“Ya, your mom and I were waiting for you.”

We walked back into the living room where my mom was sitting on the couch. “Hey hun.” My mom got up and hugged me.

“Hey mom.” I turned to Max. “Can u tell us now?”

“I can, but are you sure you want to know?”

“Yes, I do.”
