7. Chapter 7

I saw Tammy start throwing the shuriken at Loki. He side stepped each one and continued to come. Soon he was also dodging Clint's arrows as he drew the bow. (He was soon out and Tammy made him some out of ice, it wasn't exactly the best, but it worked.)

I felt something was wrong with this. Loki wouldn't let himself be caught off guard like this, even when he could do this.

I saw a large pile of snow and ice. I decided to look around.

Hawkeye and Tamyra were trying to kill me. Everyone was watching as 'I' dodged all the flying objects. In reality I was behind a large boulder of ice and compacted snow.

I watched as the clueless people tried to kill the magical reflection of me. It was quite funny and I allowed myself a small smile. Everyone fell for that and I wondered when someone wouldn't.

"They're going to kill you when they find out that THAT isn't you," a female voice said from behind me.

I was surprised, but remained calm as I turned around.

I walked behind the large pile of ice. Behind it I found Loki standing there watching his magic dodge the brigade of objects thrown at it.

"They're going to kill you when they find out that THAT isn't you," I said.

Loki turned calmly around. I could see the surprise in his eyes even as he tried to hind it.

"If they find out," he said. That's when I figured out why the voice in my head was so familiar, it was Loki's.

"Why would you assume I would not tell them," I asked him silently.

He looked at me with huge blue eyes. "Why would you assume you have any choice in the matter," he replied, also silently.

"You haven't forced me yet," I replied.

"You have not told them yet."

"LUNA!" I turned at the cry. It was Jane. I ignored it, needing to talk with Loki alone for a minute.

Through mind speech we continued our conversation.

"What do you plan to do with us," I asked.

"Nothing, you and Tamyra are royalty here," he said. "Do you not believe me?"

"I'm not sure. Last time we met you tried to kill us."

"In doing so, I opened your eyes to the truth. You two are under my protection here. I must warn you though, the only way for the mortals to survive is to get to shelter."

"What of the other frost giants," was my reply.

"The only way for them to get shelter is to become your slaves."

The others were calling out for me and were getting closer to where we were talking. Loki started to back away and then fade.

"Think about what I said. You have about an hour before they get sick. You know how to contact me," he said as he disappear.

Jane came around the ice and saw me.

"I found her," she yelled.

"What happened to Loki," I asked them.

"He used some type of magic and disappeared," Alice told me through shivering and the chattering of teeth.

I wanted to try something with Tammy. I thought hard and asked "Can you hear me?"

Tammy stopped talking and turned to me. "Of course," she said.

"Try thinking it to me," came my silent reply.

There was was nothing in my mind. Then came a voice, but not Tammy's.

"Only those with strong magic may mind speak. You can talk to her threw your mind, but she is unable to reply," came Loki's voice.

"And how long have you been watching us," I asked him furiously.

"Since I found out about you," was the only reply. How long had that been? I wanted to know but also didn't.

"Don't tell anyone of this, Tammy. Apparently I can talk to you, but you can't reply," I sent to Tammy, I don't know how but I was able to tell the minds apart and I think I would be able to tell all minds apart.

Tammy nodded to me and started talking again. Everyone agreed we needed shelter.

"Tammy," I called silently. She nodded for me to continue. "I have to tell you something." I told her about what Loki had told me. I warped it so that he and I never spoke silently. Also, that he used magic while he was dodging obstacles so that only I could hear the message.

Tammy looked at me with a question in her eyes.

"Probably because it only works on frost giants. I also wasn't the one trying to kill him," I sent her, answering her unspoken question.

Tammy sent me The Look. The one that said I had better tell the others about what I told her, the whole slave deal.

I sighed and told the group. I kept it the way I had told it to Tammy. I don't know why I didn't tell them the way it happened, it just didn't feel right.

It was self explanatory when they all protested highly. "There isn't anywhere else to go," I reasoned. "You'll die out here."

"I'd rather die than be a slave to Loki again," Clint said with steel in his voice.

"I'm not big on the whole slave thing either," Tammy said. "But you wouldn't be Loki's slave, you'd be ours."

"I'd rather not die today," Peter said. "I'm not big on the whole slave thing either, but I think that that's the best option right now."

Jane and Alice stayed silent for a moment longer. "As long as we're warm, I don't care," Jane stated.

"Fine," Alice snapped. "On two conditions, I am not going to be doing your bidding a if we aren't in public and I want to be Tammy's."

We decided that Clint and Alice could be with Tammy and Jane and Peter would be with me.

"There, can we please get inside now," I said loudly to no one in particular.

"A bit demanding, aren't you," Loki asked.

"Yes, now come get us," I mind yelled at him. "I'm hungry." That got a chuckle from him.

Loki started to materialize in front of us.

"Masters first, slaves are one meter behind them at all times unless needed," he said.

Loki turned and waved his hand. A portal appeared. He walked trough it and we followed.

It was interesting to see that the mortals had any choice in whom their masters were. In fact it was entertaining to find out that they would only do as commanded when they were in public.

I wondered how they would react to their orders.

I heard Luna call to me out loud.

I replied to her with mind speech. "A bit demanding, aren't you?"

She said that she was. Then she said "I'm hungry," in a soft voice. I chuckled at that.

I went and got them, telling them about where the slaves should be. I walked through my portal and waited on the other side for them to follow. They came through and gasped at the sight of my palace.
