3. Chapter 2

Peyton woke up with the most horrible ache in her neck. It was hard to move without a giant jolt of pain shooting through her body, so she stayed put and decided not to move. Colton's arm was wrapped around her, and he was still sleeping. Though, Peyton knew it was wrong. To sleep next to him in this particular bed--the bed that she remembered being afraid of, until Justin came in and slept next to her.

She groaned, hoping Colton would wake up. Thankfully his eyes fluttered open. He frowned at the look of pain on her face.

"Something bothering you?"

"Yes." She glared at him. "The fact that I'm being held hostage here."

She managed to wriggle out of his arm without breaking her neck, and carefully got out of the bed. Slipping on a sweatshirt, she made her way out into the living room, where Cooper and Samantha were talking on one of the leather couches.

Cooper's head shot up when he heard her coming in. He nodded his head at her and said 'hi' before going back to whatever he was doing with Samantha. Peyton folded her arms in an attempt to stay warm as she padded into the kitchen in hopes to find some food.

Thankfully, the Prezlocki brothers actually ate real food, so the pantry and the fridge were both stocked full with everything that Peyton had asked them to get. For kidnappers, they were pretty nice--and unusually stocked up on cash.

She settled on a blueberry bagel. Taking a bite out of it, she returned to the living room and sat on the vacant couch.

"Are you eating?" Samantha asked, wrinkling her nose.

Peyton stared at her. "Yeah? It's something that people normally do when they wake up."

Samantha made a noise in the back of her throat. "That's...gross. You don't worry about getting fat?"

"No," Peyton said, very slowly. "Food is basically my life."

"Samantha" Cooper smacked her arm lightly. "Stop calling our guest fat."

Peyton got up from the couch. "Don't worry about it." She said with a mouthful of bagel. "I'd rather not be a twig who'd break during sexual activities."

"I do not 'break'." Samantha protested.

"Sometimes you crack, though." Cooper smirked over at Peyton who smiled.

Samantha punched him in the arm as Peyton turned around. She yelled, "I'm going to the basement!", over her shoulder, before actually making her way down to the basement.

Once down there, she finished off her bagel and found Dakota sitting on the wrap-around couch, playing some sort of video game. Peyton couldn't remember the last time she'd been down here, but when they first came here two weeks ago, she'd come down here a lot; just to be alone and away from the chaos.

Dakota didn't even acknowledge that she was standing there, so she stepped around the TV and over to the spot next to him. He still didn't notice her then, but she didn't mind. Taking advantage of the some-what quiet, she closed her eyes and brought her feet up to cross them.

What seemed like seconds later, Dakota was shaking her awake. Her eyes opened up to see him smirking down at her.

"Wake up." He said.

"I'm awake." She groaned. "Why'd you wake me up? I wasn't bothering you."

"Well you came down here, and since I'm done with the Xbox, I want you to entertain me."

Peyton frowned. She was tired, and she hated Dakota the most--even though he was the one with the good looks.

"Come on," He whined. "Don't you want to call Justin?"

Without a second thought, she nodded.

"Then you have to kiss me."

She rolled her eyes, before grabbing his face between her hands and pulling him into her. They kissed--and Peyton thought about Justin. She had to remind herself that every time she kissed a Prezlocki, that it was bad to remind herself of Justin. It's just, the fact that Dakota smelled like cigarettes and cologne, didn't really help, because Justin smelled the exact same.

Dakota pulled away after a while, with a smirk creeping up on the corners of his mouth. He patted her leg and said, "I have to go see if Colton's awake yet, just to go over our plans for today. Stay down here if you want."

She shrugged. "This basement gives me bad memories, but I'll enjoy the silence for a little bit."

He nodded, and then made his way up the stairs--disappearing behind the door. Peyton sighed. She wasn't lying when she said that the basement gave her bad memories. She remembered the knives and the blood. It was her first real scary experience.

With a shudder, she decided to head back upstairs because she was done being alone. It honestly made her want to become depressed or something like that.

As she was making her way over to the staircase, she accidentally kicked a floorboard, causing it to come loose. She bent down to put it back in place, but noticed something sticking out. Now curious, Peyton lifted up the floorboard up a little more, and then a little more, so it was now sitting on top of another floorboard.

She gasped. The object that had been sticking out, was a one-hundred dollar bill. And sitting beneath the floor, was the money that Justin had to find. The money that the Prezlocki's wanted. She quickly put the floorboard back in it's place, and then bounded up the stairs.
