18. Chapter 16

"Why would you do that to me?" Peyton and Justin were outside now, and tears were streaming down her face. He watched her sadly, but didn't dare touch her. "Why would you make me think that everything we had was a dream? Why?"

Justin frowned and cleared his throat. "Because last night, you said that a normal life would be nice for a change."

She gasped and punched him in the stomach. He groaned, doubling over as he did so. "That doesn't mean that I meant it! Justin, you knew I was perfectly fine with you! I'm so fucking pissed off right now!"

"I've realized." He muttered quitely.

Peyton ran her hands through her hair. "You couldn't possibly think of anybody except for yourself, could you?" She glared at him. He lifted an eyebrow in confusion.

"Myself? Peyton, I was only thinking of you."

"Thinking of me?" She laughed. "That's nice. Thanks for making me feel soooo loved."

"I'm sorry."

"You better be! Take me home right now." She crossed her arms. "I want to see Ryan and Chaz." For some reason, her anger was starting to subside. She knew that Justin wouldn't have done that if she wouldn't have said something like 'I want a normal life'. So, she decided to forgive him for now, and she held out her hand.

He was hesitant to take it, but he did. A shock-wave of butterflies flew through her stomach, mostly because earlier on she was thinking that Justin was just a dream--but he wasn't, and she was so relieved because of that.

They had reached Justin's condo within a few minutes, and when they did so, Peyton bolted out of the car. She ran through the front door, through the lobby, up three flights of stairs, and down the hallway before she reached it. She was tired, but it was worth it.

Chaz and Ryan were sitting on the couch playing video games when she walked in, and both of their heads shot up. She crossed her arms.

"Did you guys know about what Justin did?"

Ryan cocked his head to the side a little bit. "No? What did he do?"

Peyton moved her gaze to Chaz. "Chaz?"

He rubbed the back of his neck nervously and was about to answer, when Justin walked in. He threw his jacket off and stomped over towards the kitchen. Now Peyton was starting to get angry again.

"Chaz knew about this?! And you have the nerve to stomp over there like I'm the one who did something wrong?" She yelled to Justin.

Justin slammed the refrigerator door and spun around to face her. His eyes were dark, like they always were when he was mad. "I just want you to be safe! Is that too hard to understand?"

"Yes, actually." She said through gritted teeth. "I'm safe with you, is that too hard to understand?"

For a moment, Peyton thought that Justin was at a loss for words. But instead, he set his beer down on the counter, making his way over to her. He stopped right in front of her and she looked up at him as he lifted her chin.

"I won't leave you again if you make a promise." Justin said.

"Me? Make a promise?" Peyton asked. "I don't know, maybe you should be making the promises."

She frowned. "Fine."

"If you promise not to leave me, I won't leave you." His voice sounded shaky, and all Peyton wanted was to kiss him, but she didn't.

"You really think that I'm going to get killed?" Peyton made sure that her voice was softer now. She heard Ryan and Chaz leave the room to give them more privacy, but she didn't really care if they were in there or not.

Justin nodded and pressed his forehead to hers. "That's why I did those things. I told your Mom everything. I told her to play along when you woke up, I told her to send you to school, I told her to act like you were still eighteen, so you thought that everything was a dream. So you wouldn't be in danger. I'd rather have you leave me, alive, than leave me by getting killed."

"Justin, you know that I would never intentionally get killed." She laughed softly. "And I won't be getting killed any time soon." She noticed the single tear streaming down his face, and how watery his eyes looked and added: "I'm still here, and I'm not leaving. So don't even think about doing something like that ever again, okay?"

"Okay." He whispered. "I'm sorry."

"Don't be sorry. Remember our talk last night? That I knew you were growing closer to border line breaking from the seams? I'm here to keep you together. So don't apologize."

Justin lightly pressed his lips onto hers. "I love you."

"I love you, too."

They kissed again. Peyton wanted nothing more than to stay like that forever, but Justin pulled away for a second just so he could say something.

"I know you're strong," He said. "Strong enough to kill someone." He chuckled. "So will you take this and promise not to leave my side when there's a problem that involves killing someone?" He held out the gun that Peyton had first found lying in the snow. It had Bieber engraved on the side of it, and she remembered running her fingers along the edges of the letters. She took it before nodding.

"We can be partners in crime." She giggled. "Well, not intentional crime."

Justin smiled. "Well, good, because there's something that I forgot to mention."

She raised an eyebrow as he dug his phone out of his back pocket. He took the remaining hand off of her waist so he could scroll through the messages. After a moment he handed the phone to her. The screen was set on a message from an unknown number.

We're waiting.

aslkfjlaskjfl;asjkg;wljoewitmvowa;dskjfml OH MY GOODNESS. I apologize for having the last chapter be so confusing. I hope that this one clears it up for you and if it doesn't, then I'll just explain it down here.

Nothing was a dream. Remember in Chapter 14 when Peyton said that a normal life would be nice for a change? Well Justin took that too literally and brought her home, told her Mom to play along and make Peyton think that everything was a dream (when it wasn't.) And then she got all mad at him, blah blah blah. Make sense now?

I'm still torn on whether or not I should continue this on into a Part Three of the story with 8 more Chapters. Comment if you want 8 more Chapters of Stolen ;D I'd just have to think about what would happen. Lol
