Snow in September

*Sequel to Summer Love
Emily & Sarah return to New York after a long Irish summer. In their 2 month adventure, the girls got close to the lads of One Direction, Emily especially close to Niall. The girls tested their friendship as Sarah got upset & jealous of Emily. Now back for their junior year, the girls face even more hardships as they begin to drift & cling on to the last strand. The girls go to one last 1D concert in hopes of saving their friendship. Bit when Emily is asked to tour with her favorite band, will that be the end of their friendship?

1. Welcome Home! You're Going to Boarding School

My life is over.

Or maybe not. Maybe moving will be good for me. No more rushed city life. No more noise or lights. No more annoying people. No more traffic.

No more Sarah.

It's so bittersweet. Sarah and I have been fighting since the beginning of summer. She kept telling me I was too ugly and worthless to be dating the guy I was. It was all out of jealousy, too. She wante to be the one he dated and liked.

But then again, any girl would.

Why? Because he was Niall Horan. THE Niall Horan of One Direction.

We still talk, but it's not the same what with their album and tour. He wrote me a song, well a few. He says he thinks about me when he sings them. He says he misses me, and I really miss him too.

what sucks is that I can't talk to anyone about it. Not my parents, not my brother, not even Sarah who was supposed to be my best friend and the only one that knew.

But I moved. Not my family, just me. Yup, my parents shipped me out to boarding school. And not just any boarding school, either. Turns out, while I was gone they sent in an application to the most prestigious, elite boarding school in New York. And i got in...

Two days ago, when I stepped off the plane and was greater by Mrs. Virgil, my parents called saying they had a surprise waiting for me at home. The car ride was silent and I wished I was back in Ireland.

"How was the trip?" Mrs. Virgil asked trying to fill the awkward silence lingering in the air. "What'd you guys do?" Sarah and I looked at eachother, sighed, and turned back. I put my headphones in and rested my head against the cold window. We finally stopped at my apartment.

"Bye Mrs. Virgil, thank you so much for the tickets and ride! I'm sorry about the car ride, just tired, it's been a long summer." I smiled and shut the door. My brother came out and helped me with my bags. I waved and watched te car roll away.

"what happened?"

"what? Nothing happened. Why?"

"obviously something happened over the summer. You're upset about something, I can tell."

"Ryan, I'm fine. I'm just tired ok?" Well it wasn't THAT big of a lie. Ryan sighed and we walked into our apartment. My parents were there to greet us, my mom was holding something behind her back.

"Welcome home sweetie!" My dad gave me a hug and a confused look came upon my face.

"Uhh, what's going on?" I dropped my bags an watched my parents as they pulle out a package. My mom held on to the package and had a huge smile on her face.

"Have you ever heard of the Winchester Academy?"

"Yeah? It's like the most prestigious boarding school in the world. But isn't it in London?"

"Well yes, the main campus is. But they have locations in a few states, one here in New York!"

"Ok where is this headed?"

"Congratulations sweetie! Your been accepted into the NYC location if Winchester!" My mom handed me the packet.

"Isn't it great?! Move-in day and orientation are tomorrow!"

"Dad... No it's actually not great. I just got home. And how could I get accepted I didn't even apply!" I refused the package and started to cry. Great.

"Well that's the other thing. We applied for you. Your guidance counselors, principal, and teachers all think its a good idea,"

"And I don't have a say? I'm gone all summer and I come home to this. Gee thanks a lot." I scoffed and went to my room. I unpacked my clothes from Ireland and began packing for school. I was taking out clothes when my mom yelled at me.

"EMILY. Get in here please." I groaned and did as I was told. Before I even had the chance to ask what was going on, my parents flipped the computer screen so I could see. "Care to explain?" The video playing was of me and Sarah singing. With One Direction.

"I went to a concert in London and they asked us to sing?"

"Oh honey that's fantastic!" My parents gave me a hug and I just wrinkled my eyebrows in response.

"It is?"

"Yes! Now you'll definitely be accepted into the Elisabeth School of Performing Arts!"

"Don't tell me you applied for me there too..."

"No, but we'll send this as your audition video and BAM you're in!" What happened to my parents? Normally they ask before they send in applications for me. First Winchester, now the Elisabeth School.. The ESPA is a part of Winchester and all these aspiring actors, singers, musicians and performers go. Not girls like me. I ran off to my room and flopped on to my bed. I let out a muffled scream in to my pillow and then my phone rang. I wiped my tears and smiled. Niall was FaceTiming me. I grabbed my headphones and slid to answer.

"Gimme a sec, Ni." I put my phone in my pocket. "All this news is suffocating me and making my brain go crazy. I'm going on a walk, be back...whenever." I walked out the door and left the building. Once outside I went in to the back lot. No one ever went back there so it was the perfect spot to talk to Niall.

"Sorry about that, can't risk my parents over hearing. They're not exactly my faves right now." I pulled out my phone and greeted my, uh, whatever he was at that point. Not exactly my boyfriend, but not just a friend either..

"It's ok, where are you?"

"Back lot of my apartment building. Wait I'm hungry, going on an adventure." I got up and he smiled at me, God I missed that smile.

"God Emily, I miss you."

"I miss you too." I nodded. I began walking to Starbucks. "Hold up, I'm ordering food."

"Emily!" the barista, a girl named Becca who was a grade below me, called out, "Welcome home! The usual?"

"You got it!" I nodded my head then went to a table to wait for my order.

"So what's this news your parents got you going crazy about?"

"That. Right, well have you heard of the Winchester Academy?"

"Yes?" He nodded his head.

"Well they applied for me and I got accepted in to the New York location. I just found out, too. And get this: my parents found the video of the concert and they're sending it as an audition video to the Elisabeth School of Performing Arts over at Winchester.." I took a deep breath as Niall stared back intently, holding on to every word I was saying.

"Emily! Your order!"

"Thanks." I paid for my order and walked back to the lot. I sat back down and began eating.

"Oh wow, that's rough. But I have something to make you feel better." He pulled out his guitar and played something I don't remember ever hearing. I started tearing up. When he was done, I clapped.

"That was beautiful."

"Thank you, It's called Summer Love. And here's another 2." The next two songs were called Little Things and They Don't Know About us. Both were amazing and were also written for me. We talked for hours about school and his tour.

"We're going to be in New York in a month, September 25th. And we're playing MSG in December. You should go."

"We don't have tickets."

"Look who you're talking to," I laughed at his remark. "I can get you passes. You and Sarah. Please, I want to see you."

"Ok, fine, I'll go! Maybe it'll help us patch up our broken friendship," I sighed. "Well, I should go, I have a big day tomorrow. Yay."

"Good luck, love. You'll do great, I promise!"

"Thanks, Ni." I smiled

"I love you, Emily."

"I love you, too." We waved goodbye and hung up. I leaned back on the wall and sighed. I shut my eyes and hoped this was all a nightmare. That I would just wake up before anything happened. I opened my eyes and sure enough, I was still leaning up against the back wall of my apartment building, Starbucks bags on the floor in front of me. I got up and threw the bags away. I went around front and climbed the steps to the lobby and made my way up to my 23rd floor apartment. I went straight in to my room and plugged in my phone. On my bed was the package from Winchester. I sighed and went to pick it up.

Maybe leaving will be good for me.
