Waking up in Vegas

The boy next to me stirred. Moaning as he rubbed his eyes. He then turned to face me, and his blue eyes burst open in surprise, but his weren't the only ones. I just woke up to Niall James Horan of One Direction. What?

15. Gambling

*Niall: Present*

After Harry hung up Melody and I looked at each other quite perplexed. What more could Harry have to say? He sounded pretty rushed like we needed to get up there soon or the whole world would implode. I looked to Mel and she just shrugged. Did something happen after I left that she's not telling me? No. By the look on her face she didn't know either.

"So do you know where Daisy would be?" I asked hopefully. Part of me wanted her to say no 'cause the longer we had to look for her blond friend the longer I got to spend away from Harry. But in the end curiosity got the best of me... Something was going on and I wanted to know what. I just hoped curiosity wouldn't kill this cat.

"I think I might... I just hope I'm wrong," she sighed. She grabbed my dangling hand and led me back to the elevator.

"Where do you think she is?" I asked confused by her answer. She didn't say anything, just pressed the button for the elevator. I sighed running my free hand through my hair. The elevator finally pinged the doors opening, and Melody pulled me inside an urgent look on her face. As the door closed I looked towards the mirror that covered one side of the elevator. My eyes traveled along the view in front of me. I finally got to see what everyone else saw when they looked at Mel and I. I stared at my red eyes, then hers. My eyes then trailed down to our joined hands. I watched as I tightened my grip letting her know that I was there. She looked up and our eyes met in the mirror. I smiled slightly and she started to smile when the elevator pinged; doors opening. Her smile faded and she tugged me back to reality.

Reality. Reality mocked me. In reality we were not the perfect couple. We didn't have the fairy tale life that the image in the mirror led me to believe. Reality. Ha. Would it be cliche to say reality ruined my life? We walked down the long hallway that led from The Hotel to the casino of the Mandalay Bay. The wall was lined in more mirrors, but I willed myself not to look. I needed to stay in reality. I needed to stop daydreaming. As soon as we exited The Hotel the smell of cigarette smoke met my nostrils. I gagged slightly. I've always hated that smell, but when you're in Vegas that's the scent everywhere you go. Oddly enough The Hotel had a unique smell to it, maybe it was just the smell of cleanliness, but you could never smell the smoke when you were in there.

Melody stopped walking her eyes searching the view in front of her. I didn't know what she was looking for... Daisy couldn't be in the casino could she? But then I spotted her. She was sitting at a machine with the scenes of an eighties movie covering it. I nudged Melody then pointed to Daisy. I looked to Mel and the look on her face scared me. She dropped my hand and ran to Daisy and pulled her away from the machine both of them falling to the ash covered carpet. I stared in shock as Melody held down a flailing Daisy. What the hell is going on? I rushed over and pulled them apart and held them apart.

"What the hell is going on here?" I questioned looking back and forth between the disheveled girls.

"Ask Melody. She's the one that attacked me," Daisy huffed. I looked to Melody with questioning eyes.

"She's not supposed to be gambling! She promised me she'd never do it again," Mel turned to Daisy, "you know what happens when you gamble."

"So what I was stressed," Daisy frowned pulling herself out my grip. I dropped my arms letting both girls go.

"That's no excuse. Do you not remember what happened last time you gambled? Your mom kicked you out after you maxed out all her credit cards! I had to take care of you for months!" Melody was pissed I could tell. I stared at the scene in front of me.

"Either way... Harry wants the three of us to join him and the lads in the room again," I said breaking up their staring war. Daisy looked to me.

"I'm not going back up there," she frowned.

"Sadly you don't have a choice. We're going now." I picked her up throwing her over my shoulder. She punched my back, and kicked against my chest but I didn't budge.

"PUT ME DOWN!" Daisy kept kicking and punching. I ignored her and turned to Melody,

"can you walk?" Melody nodded her eyes open in shock as I tightened my grip on her flailing friend. "Then lets go."

*Melody: Present*

Niall led the way back inside The Hotel. I glanced at the mirrors as we walked past. Daisy was yelling curse words the whole time, but Niall didn't seem to care. We did get some stares by passerby's, but no one said anything. This is Vegas, they probably assumed my friend here got drunk at the bar and needed help back to the room. Gotta love that about Vegas. I looked at Niall eyes wondering over his body. The fact that he could lift Daisy like she weighed nothing was impressive.

We reached the elevators moments later. Niall was sort of preoccupied with the flailing Daisy, so I pressed the up button and waited patiently until one of the doors opened. As soon as we were inside and the doors were closed Niall set an enraged Daisy on the floor. I watched in shock as she slapped him across the face.

"Never pick me up again," she seethed. He nodded quickly he then pulled out a key and put it in the hole unlocking their private floor. The ride was silent apart from Daisy's deep breathing. When the doors opened the security team guarding the elevator nodded at us letting us pass. We walked to Harry's door, and Niall knocked softly. The door opened relieving a smiling Harry. The hell?
