13. Chapter 10

   ~Grace's P.O.V~

It's pretty funny when you think about how fast things change sometimes. I mean, a few days ago, Maya was the most radiant and perkiest person I had ever met in my life but now... She's a mess. Will eyed me and he walked into the house. He knew I had something to discuss with Maya.

"Sorry I came here unannounced, I just don't know what to do anymore," Maya said at the verge of tears.

"It's alright. I assume you came here to talk though, right?" I asked. Maya nodded solemnly. I sat down next to her on the doorstep and looked at her. "What happened?" I asked.

  "I left Dylan," she said.

"I thought he broke up with you?" I said.

"No, Wednesday wasn't the first time he'd done something like that to me. When you stepped in, it made me realize, I was letting him do that and when Harry stepped in to protect you, it also made me realize, Dylan would never do that for me, he never did in the while we were together, and you and Harry haven't even been seeing each other for three days yet, it's crazy," Maya said.

"Well some people don't know what they have until it's gone," I said.

"Maybe, but it still stings knowing I'm not with Dylan anymore, he's been my everything for as long as I can remember," Maya replied.

"Maybe you needed a little eye opener about Dylan, I think the best thing you can do right now is to keep thinking that Dylan is history and he's in the past and you have more to come through your life," I said.

"Thanks, Grace, you're a good friend," Maya said pulling me into a hug. I hugged her back. My phone vibrated in my pocket. Probably another text. I pulled away from Maya and took my phone out.

"I should get going, my mom's been really worried about me since Wednesday and I should probably go and tell her everything is fine until she finally believes me." Maya joked.

"Alright, I'll text you later," I said giving her another quick hug before she walked away. I checked my phone and there was a text from Harry.

  From: Harry

We're going to Lou's tonight, I'll pick you up at around six, is that good?

 From Me:

  Perfect, I'll be ready.

 From: Harry

 Okay, see you then.

That time I didn't text back. I walked inside my house and went into the kitchen. I saw Will and my dad chatting.

"Both my kids in relationships, when would I have seen the day coming?" my father said. "I guess New York couldn't have brought that," he shrugged. I nodded along with Will. "Oh, Grace! I have a letter here from Reagan," my father said. Reagan was basically the only person I could stand back in New York. She would most probably be what you describe my 'best friend'. She was always there for me when I needed someone to talk to that wasn't my dad or Will. I took the letter from my fathers hand and walked up to my room and I opened it up.

 Dear, Grace,

You've been gone for about two weeks now, it feels like it's been two years. Things here in New York haven't been so great. The school water pipe bursted and flooded everything, and now we don't have a school to go to, all the other school's in the city are full and they don't have space for us to go to. Not to mention the fact that they're at least 40 minutes away, and the rest are all through Brooklyn. So I had a thought, you now live in Foster (A/N I don't think that's a real place but, bare with me, it's a story). The thought was that I cold come and visit you while they repair the school, but I won't come if you don't want me too. Let me know! Oh and just so you know, I would've texted you but I broke my phone and my parents suggested I write this letter, just thought you should know.

I pulled out my notebook quickly and ripped out a page. I guess I could use Reagan coming here, she was the one person who could ever talk some sense into me and well-I fell like I'm going to need that kind of motivation in my life.

 Dear, Reagan,

That's sad to hear, did anyone get injured somehow? Well I guess I can say I told you so, for at least a month I told you I heard water dripping but you called me crazy so haha, jokes on you. Anyway, I would love for you to come and visit, everything here is going pretty well in the two weeks, I've made at least four or five friends and I've met a boy. I won't say much about him until you're here. Sorry to hear about your phone, you must be feeling like shattered glass (pun intended). Either way, I'll talk to you as soon as possible, until then, see ya!

I put the piece of paper into an envelope and mailed it away. I only had an hour nowto get ready for Harry to pick me up. I took a shower and then changed into a bright blue pair of skinny jeans, and a black tank top that clung to my body. Then to finish my outfit on, I put on my denim jacket and my worn out black Chuck Taylor's. I left my hair in it's natural wavy stage and only put on a layer of lip gloss and eye shadow. I never usually wear make up but, I do when I meet new people and I thought this was a good enough occasion. My phone beeped and I rushed to it since it was all the way on my desk. I had a text from the only person I actually texted. Harry.

 From: Harry

  I'm parked outside, you ready?

 From: Me

I walked out of my house with gushing smiles from Will and my dad. This is the first time I was actually going out to generally have fun on a Friday in a few years. I walked out to the setting sun and the fresh breeze. It would stay like this for only a little while, the snow was bound to come by at least next week, October was the snow month here in Foster. I took in a scent of the autum breeze. I took my time walking up to the car. I watched as leaves slowly fell to the ground, it looked beautiul, I'm not going to lie about that.

  "Hey, sunshine," Harry teased.

"Hey, muffin pie," I joked. Harry laughed and opened the passenger seat door. He drove off while the both of us stayed in silence. Whenever we both stayed silent, it didn't really feel like silence. It felt more like we're talking without audio. It was actually very pleasant. Harry pulled the car up in a driveway which I'm guessing was Louis' home. We both hopped out of the car and walked to the door, we didn't even knock when someone opened the door.

"Louis! They're here," it was Liam, I'm petty sure it was anyway.

"You sure love yelling, don't you, Liam?" Harry asked. Bingo, I was correct. Liam shrugged and walked off followed by Harry and I. Everyone was standing in what seemed to be the living room. I noticed other girls sitting in the room as well. There was only two more, but all the guys were there.

  "Isn't Danielle coming?" Harry asked.

"No, she got caught sneaking off again last night," Liam said. I was confused and I could tell Harry noticed.

"Danielle is Liam's girlfriend, Perrie over here is Zayn's and Eleanor is Louis'," Harry said pointing over to the two girls. One of them had blond hair and she was wearing a casual black dress. Her make up easily suited her by being a dark surronding around her eyes and ruby red lips. Harry pointed over to her when he said 'Perrie' so that was most probably Perrie. The girl sitting next to her was a brunette with wavy hair. Perrie seemed more like a rocker chick but she looked like she would be pleasant to talk too. Eleanor wore black skinny jeans and a white, flowy button up top that appeared to be closer to a silk material. As for her make up, it told her story, just like Perrie's. Eleanor had peach coloured lip gloss and light eye shadow just like mine. But both girls smiled brightly showing that maybe they'd be some good type of friends.

"So this is the girl Harry's been gushing about," Perrie said.

"What's your name, love?" Eleanor asked.

  "Grace," I replied grimmly.

"Pretty," both girls mumbled. Perrie jumped up from the couch and grabbed my hand.

"Lets go make tea, I want to chat with you more," Perrie said. I nodded and followed her. "Come on, Eleanor, you should come, too," Perrie said. Eleanor nodded and joined. Once we arrived at the kitchen both girls sighed.

"Do you want to hear our stories?" Perrie asked out of the blue. "I suggest you say yes, it'll become your story," Perrie said.

"But for you, it may be a lot worse," Eleanor said. Then just like every other time. I got a bad feeling.
