The Hotline

"Do you think anyone would miss me?" A deep, raspy voice comes on the line, before I even say my name."Do you think anyone would care? If I pull the trigger of this gun, who would miss me?" I am startled by the sound of a gun being loaded. I am about to respond, when suddenly I hear a shot go off.

7. Chapter Seven

"Shit." Harry whispers.

He turns around to face the window I am facing.
"How do they always find me. I wore a hood for fuck sake!" Harry speaks loudly.

"Harry, calm down. They can't get in and I have another exit." I smile making his face relax just a tad.

I walk over to the window and peer around the blinds a bit. I see many men and women with large cameras, and notepads. is this really what it's like for him. I would hate to not be able to do what I love without freedom. I sigh and shut te blinds. Though I still hear the shouts of the men asking questions.

"Harry, why do you put up with this?" I don't think before I speak, which results in a confused stare from him.

"Maddy, I don't really have a choice."

"Okay, so what do we do?" I ask as I walk over and sit in front of him again. He smiles at me, making my cheeks flush.

"Well, I don't exactly want them to meet you, that would just result in them harassing you, and if we leave we will probably get caught." Harry says as he stands.

I don't catch on to what he I saying and as "What are you going on about?"

"You wanna meet the boys?" He smirks.

Harry decides it is a good idea to walk outside and go to his place, so the paparazzi don't figure out where I live.

It takes Harry and I, about ten minutes to turn off the lights and gather our things. After that, we sit in the dark for a couple of minutes, waiting to see if anyone would leave.

"Harry?" I ask.

"Hmm." He hums as he ties his shoes.

"I know you have problems, but you wouldn't end your life, would you?" I don't know what to expect as an answer.

"I think we should save those questions for my next therapy session." he smiles and stands up from thee floor as extends out a hand for me. I take his hand and he pulls me up, but not without me slightly tripping, though he catches me by my upper arm.

"OW!" I let out a scream, and Harry looks terrified.

"What!" He says in a panic.

I don't know myself, but I know where the pain is so I slip my jumper down slightly to show a nasty bruise on my arm. I don't remember falling recent, but then it hits me. The asshole who I ran into this morning.

"Oh," I whisper and Harry waits for an explanation.

"This morning on my run, I ran into this complete arse. he didn't even apologize." Before I finish Harry is turning red and rubbing the back of his head.

"What?" I question.

He just shakes his head and chuckles.

"Okay, you ready love?" Harry asks me and I nod.

He pulls my coat hood on top my head, and places my hair around my face so that you cannot really see my profile. He also puts his hood on, and opens the door. They're all still there, just standing taking pictures of us. Do they have nothing better to do with their lives? I am suddenly very angry and Harry calms me slightly. Harry slips his hand around my shoulder and holds me tight against his body. This is strange, but I'm not complaining. After Harry locks the office up he turns and the photographers go crazy.
"Harry! Harry! How many girls is that this week, ten?!"

"Who is that Harry!"

"Harry! Is it true that you were spotted leaving Cher Lloyd's house in the early morning?"

This is horrible, who would want to have a job where all they do is harass a human being. Harry stays strong though, he doesn't flinch and continues walking down the street. I however begin to sob, and huddle by face into harry's chest. This isn't okay, no one should live like this. Soon we arrive at a large black vehicle and Harry takes the remote on his keys and unlocks the car. He then opens the passenger for me and helps me inside, without uncovering my face. He reaches for the seatbelt, but I place a hand on it before him and make him close my door. The people are still hounding him outside the car as he tries to get to the driver's seat. how is possible that these people are out in the cold, at one in the morning. No proper jobs.

Once Harry gets in the car and starts the engine, I bury my face in my hands and he begins to drive.

"I'm so sorry Maddy, it's only the first time meeting and you have to deal with this." Harry's voice cracks making me look up at him.

I can feel the tears streaming down my face. "How cam you do that? Deal with all the crap, and still care about others." I shake my head and wipe my face.

Harry's eyes stay on the road ahead of him, but I can see his jaw tense and he grips the steering wheel a little tighter.

I look away and stare out of the window. Though it is dark, the moon illuminates enough, for me to watch the houses as Harry drives on.

I know that I have to call Lexi, because it a lot later than I usually come from the office.

The phone only rings once before Lexi comes on the line. "Maddy, what the bloody hell! Where are you?"

"Lexi, sorry I have something really important to do." My voice cracks and I know Lexi heard me sniffle before I answered.

"Mads, are you okay? Why are you crying?" Her concern makes my heart hurt. I hate lying to her.

"Nothing, I'll be home soon." I hang up quickly and place my phone in my lap.

I forget that Harry is in the car until says, "Who's Lexi?"

I turn to him and speak quietly, " My younger sister."

He smiles and keeps his eyes on the road.

"Sorry, I freaked out like that." I mumble as I direct my vision back to the window.

"You should have seen me, my first time. Cried for hours." He chuckles, letting me know everything is okay.

Before I know it we arrive at a tall building, and I notice that there are people outside of it aswell. I look at Harry and he frowns slightly.

"Home sweet home."
