I Wish

Kirsty Evans is your regular 16 year old girl - she loves music, especially the boyband One Direction. In fact, her dream is just to meet them for one day.
She has just finished her GCSEs and is now recording her own homemade CD of her singing songs she has written. She hides her talent from everyone - even her dad who is a manager for some of the biggest musicians in the music industry.
One day, when she is least expecting it, she walks into her house after a day out in town with her friend to find the biggest surprise ever sitting on her sofa.

3. Hearing the Talent

Harry's POV

About 2 minutes after Kirsty went up to bed, I told everyone that I, too, was tired and needed some sleep before the travel tomorrow.

'Okay Harry, good idea. Your room is up the stairs, left on the corridor and its the second door on your right. See you in the morning, 7:15 wake up sharp please,' Mr Evans ordered politely.

I walked up the large staircase and heard a beautiful sound coming from the first door on the left corridor. It was Kirsty's room. I had never heard the song she was singing so I guess it was her own. Her soft, flowing voice filled the air around me and then I knew that she was the one for me, and I'm going to get her. Regardless of what her Dad said to us. I love this girl.

I decided to knock on her door when she had stopped singing and waited for an answer.

Kirsty's POV

I heard a gentle knock at the door and I quickly rushed around, hiding my laptop and songbook in my underwear drawer.

I opened the door, pretending to be half asleep when I saw Harry standing outside my door. I let him in immediately and asked him what he was doing in here.

'Well, I heard this beautiful voice coming from your room so I was curious to know what it was. I figured it was you singing as I had never heard that song before, so I suspect it was one if your own,' he explained. 'You have some real talent Kirsty, why didn't you tell me? Does anyone know?'

'Nope, it's a secret hobby, and it is going to stay secret,' I told him.

'Well you should tell your dad, he is a band manager after all,' he chuckled softly. 'Have you recorded it?'

'Uh, yeah I have. It's on my laptop. I'm recording an album of my own. If I show you, you promise to keep it a secret?' I warned.

'Cross my heart,' he crossed his heart and spread his fingers out in front of him. I reached into one of my drawers and took out a sleek black MacBook. It was only locked so I could easily show Harry the album on GarageBand.

He listened for the whole 15 minutes the 4 songs lasted and then told me they're great and I should show my dad. I said no because it was a hobby - not that I didn't want to become a singer. I was just worried that I may be hurt trying to get into the music industry, that I wasn't good enough or people didn't enjoy my music.

That's what worries me most about the music industry.
