Poetry - Zayn Malik Fanfiction

Zayn Malik. He's sweet and caring. Never would he hurt a soul. That's his cover. His dirty past is built of lies and destruction. He finds a girl, a girl by the name of Noel. What keeps them sane? Poetry.

I'll be out at  Rêve de Café. Don't go wondering where I am.

Noel set her note on the kitchen counter, shrugging her purse over her arm. It was the next day, and she was heading out to the coffee house to meet Zayn. She was actually pretty excited; curiosity was always something that sparked excitement for her.

The familiar sound of bells on the door sounded. Noel sat down at a wooden table for two, today was not busy at all. Noel was the only person other than some hipster in the corner using her laptop.

Noel look up to see Zayn taking a seat across from her, wearing a Why The Fuck Not T-shirt. His hair was in a quiff, two star earrings on his ears.

"Hi," Noel smiled, biting her lip. "So, what was so important?" Their voices where the only ones to be heard in the whole place, and it was freaking Noel out that the hipster woman was looking at them.

"Okay," Zayn let out a long breath, looking at the brown ceiling. He looked back down, his brown eyes meeting Noel's. "We've known each other for what, three days? Maybe just two days? But Noel, I think there is something between us. If there isn't, I want there to be something between us. When I'm near you, I feel like I'm back in high school, where I had a big crush on someone, but was too afraid to ask. But this isn't high school, and I want to ask you." He searched in Noel's eyes, hoping for an answer.

"Zayn," was all she said. Yeah, she had liked him a bit, but she wasn't really thinking about dating him. And she definitely did not think he would ever ask her out.

"Wait," said Zayn, before Noel could say anything more. "And if I start this relationship with you, I promise I won't be anything like I was with Sasha. I've changed. Or so I think.."

"Zayn. You have changed. You are always nice to me, and never once have I seen you get angry," Noel spoke. Even though she hadn't known him long, he wasn't as he said he used to be. "And yes, I will...," she cleared her throat and smiled, a big, happy smile. "Be your girlfriend."

Zayn laughed, his eyes crinkling with pleasure.

"Wait," said Noel, standing up. "I want to check one thing before we start dating. Come outside." Zayn made a curious face as Noel led him outside.

"What-" Zayn started, but didn't finish. Noel was on her tip-toes, catching her lips in his. His lips were soft, small, and delicate. He closed his eyes, pressing his mouth against hers.

"Wow," Zayn breathed as they parted. "That was out of the blue."

"Just wanted to make sure you are a good kisser," Noel said. She couldn't stop smiling. She hadn't kissed a boy in years, and Zayn's lips felt so perfect. It wasn't bad meeting Zayn at all. She was happy.

"Did I pass?" Zayn lifted up his shoulders. He smiled his usual smile, tongue held in between his top and bottom teeth.

"Of course," Noel smiled. They didn't need to say goodbye, they knew that it was time to go. Zayn bent down and brushed his lips against her cheeks, whispering, "I know you'll be the perfect one."
