My Love, Demetrius; Our Love Story

My father was cruel for forcing Romeo into my life. All he cared about was the money that their family had to offer. But you, my love, were much more precious to me than useless currency. And to think... If my mother were alive, she'd be thrilled to know that I'd be committing to a man with a name like his. Romeo and Juliet. That's who we'd be. Why would I marry someone whom I didn't even have love for? You, dearest Demetrius, made my life joyous each and every day. This is the story of our love.

1. You Said Hello

My Love, Demetrius

I remember my seventeenth birthday gathering.

Twinkly lights everywhere and guests in elegant attire. It was a bit too chaotic for me, but it made Father happy. The party fell on a breezy summer night that I recall very well. It was the night that I met that young boy.

He was a charming server, handing out tiny orderves that hardly tasted appetizing. I needed some time alone after a while, so I wandered off to one of the many balconies of our large castle. I remember tripping over my long dress several times and barely being able to breathe in that awful olive corset. I despised it all; especially because it was my daily apparel.

Eventually, that young boy found me. And as soon as I heard those quiet footsteps, I turned around to face him.

All you had said was "Hello." And the only thing I could do was smile. Little did I know that the simple word that had left your lips was the beginning of everything. The beginning of us.
