A Word

My first poem. Hints and tips would be great.
I've kept it short, any interpretations ideas would be great. I had a few in mind whilst writing it, but it would be great to hear what you all think

Thanks for reading

1. Words

In the beginning was the word

That no one has ever heard.

Still sweet on the tongue it sounds

Though off no walls it yet bounds.

Out comes the word, your own,

Till it meets another, who moans

Or praises your word,

But it is no longer yours.

Another might change your word,

Pass it on to more, mould it to his will

Until it is not yours, but his preferred.

Until it passes again still.

The word returns to me, changed.

My voice is still there,

But only small - strained.

Perhaps another word.
