4. Chapter 4

“Where are we going?” I questioned as I noticed an unknown place.

Harry didn’t mind to answer my question instead, he grabbed my hand and smiled.

The car slowly came to a stop. I’m really scared.

“Oh my god, my thoughts can’t be right.” I gushed. “Is this the part where you take me to the forest and kill me?” I gasped jokingly.

“I didn’t know that you have a large imagination.” He chuckled. “Get off the car or I’ll lift you out.” He shook his head as he laughed. His curls falling over his forehead.

“You’re really weird.”

He gave me a grin before opening his car door and getting out. I rolled my eyes and climbed out of the vehicle repeating his action. Harry entwined his large hand with mine, leading me as we walk down the forest. The place that looked horror earlier now looks like a paradise.

“Wow. I never thought this place is beautiful.” I gushed.

“Let’s go up there.” Harry pointed on a tree house.

He climbed up for a few steps and stretched his left arm for me. I looked around and was stunned to see a beautiful view from the tree house.

“It’s beautiful, Harry.”  I whispered, unable to take my eyes off the view in front of me.

“So are you.” He smiled, dimples prominent either side of his cheeks.

Harry frightens me at first but I never thought he has this side of being sweet. For a moment, there was silence.

“I’ve been following you for quite long now.” He spoke quietly, catching my attention.

I turned around to his direction. His eyes locked with mine as I walk towards him.

“When? Why?” I questioned.

“At the party in the club, I saw you with bunch of people. You seemed so bored.” He paused. “Then days after, I always see you in the library and learned that you work there as a student assistant so starting that day I always go there just to see you even sometimes I feel bored because I’m alone. Then my friend told me you that work in a café so I thought of buying a cup of coffee even though I’m not fond of drinking like that.” He added, slightly chuckling.

I sense a serious talk as Harry tugged me close to him, his hand landed on my back supporting me not to fall.  I looked up, stunned as I see sparkling green eyes peering on me.

“But why would you do that? The one in the park.  Why did you follow me?”

“I thought that’s the only time that I can talk to you. To be with you.” He explained.

“You frightened me.” I spoke quietly sighting pain in Harry’s green eyes.

“I’m sorry I tho..”

“It’s fine. I just thought you were a killer or a maniac.” I mumbled, cutting him off.

Harry softly brushed his fingers on my cheek. His gaze not leaving mine.  He leaned down, dipping his head to where my ear was. His curls tingling my cheek.

“I like you, Jess.” He whispered.

I felt my cheeks turn red at his statement. I didn’t answer not knowing what to say. I’m really afraid of falling in love again. I don’t want to be hurt again.

“You don’t understand, Harry. Not now.” I sighed. “Maybe we should get time to know each other first?” I suggested.

He nodded but still not satisfied in my answer.

“I can understand. Always remember that.” He said giving me a small smile. “Look at this.”

I gasped as I realized what we were looking at. The pinky, orange sunset burst through the trees illuminating the forest.  It was breath taking.

We stopped in the front door. At that moment my focus was completely on Harry. I held my keys in one hand as Harry grabbed the other.

“Thank you. I had a great time.” I smiled.

“Glad you do. Hope we can do this again?” he grinned.

“Course. I’d love to know you more.”

Harry tugged me closer. He hugged me and he kissed my cheek. It was too late to complain so I returned his hug. Reluctantly, I removed myself to him.

“Text me when you get home safe.”

“Yeah, will do!”

I sighed as I watch him disappear.

I had tossed and turned myself for the last two hours but I’m still having a hard time to sleep. My mind keeps thinking if I should give Harry a chance to be a part of my life. He’s the type of guy who frightens you but manage to be nice and sweet. I barely knew him but I know he’ll make me happy. But my mind and my heart are arguing, my mind says I should give him a chance while my heart says, I don’t want to be hurt again. The situation is confusing me big time. I grabbed one of my pillows and placed it over my head in an attempt to block everything out. Apparently, it worked.
