When The Sun Goes Down (15+)

"I ran as fast as I could to get away from him. I knew he wasn't far behind, but I could at least try. I could hear his feet not too far behind me. My hair got in the way of my eyes, but I didn't care. I didn't have time to stop and fix it. I didn't even have time to breathe. He slammed the door open and came running into the room. I stopped breathing for a moment. This is it, I thought. I'm going to die...."

2. Just One Jump

I looked out from the cliff and took a deep breath. The water hit against the hard rocks and made the water splash. The water was dark and didn't seem as inviting as I wish it did. I started to take my clothes off and untied my shoes. I hid them under the tree not too far away from the edge of the cliff. I could feel my heart beating fast in my chest as I walked back. Just one jump, that's all it would take, and then I wouldn't be alone.. I wouldn't feel the pain from all the horrible memories and I wouldn't need anyone.

"Just one jump..." I whispered to myself and closed my eyes. I took a step closer to the edge and felt the wind in my face. It was cold outside today. Raining as well. The rain streamed down my naked body and made me numb to the cold. It was like that night again. The world got further away. I didn't feel anything, I didn't think. Nor did I care about the darkness at the bottom of the cliff. I took a few deep breaths before I forced myself to open my eyes. I needed to see the beauty in this world before disappearing forever. But I wasn't going to die now, I died a long time ago. About a year ago, that's when I died. I died that night. That night. With those thoughts running through my head, I forced myself to remember another night. The night it all started.

"Marilyn!! Hi girl!! Oh my god, you look amazing tonight!" Alicia said happily. Her brown hair were in beautiful curls tonight, they made her look like an angel. She did already, with her amazing body and her way to be. She always made me smile and we always had so much fun together. She was a lot taller than me, I looked so tiny beside her. She was beautiful, although she never believed me when I told her. She was wearing a dark blue dress with lace in the back. The glass she held in her hand was almost empty and from the way she acted I could understand that it wasn't her first glass. Not her last either. She jumped around to the music, screaming the lyrics. I just laughed. Oh god, what kind of people do I hang out with? Watching her dance made me want to dance too. But I'm the worst dancer in the world. It was like Alicia read my mind because just within seconds she came running towards me, screaming:

"C'mon Marilyn!! Dance!!" She grabbed my upper arm and pulled me out on the dance floor. I tried to escape but she wouldn't let me go. "Stay." She said determined. Then, she started jumping around again.

She laughed, and said:

"Please Mary!! Dance, have some fun!"

I laughed and started jumping, not knowing how ridiculous I looked. But it was fun. A guy came up to us, with a tray full of glasses in different sizes, with different drinks. He didn't look like he worked here though, because he was only wearing a pair of normal dark-blue jeans and a black T-shirt. He nodded against the table, ordering us to come with him. Alicia stopped dancing and took my hand in hers and whispered in my ear:

"Marilyn, it's him.."

I looked at her. I had no clue of what she was talking about. We walked after him and I sat down on one side, Alicia on the other. She looked at him like he was an angel or something. I admit that he was kind of hot but not that hot. He looked like any other guy that used to be here. He had black hair, longer than most guys used to have their hair, but not too long. It was perfectly trimmed on the sides. I watched him as he sat down beside Alicia and said:

"Hello ladies.. Having a good time?" He laid his arm around her and looked at the tray. "Want some drinks?"

I nodded and was about to take one when he stopped me. He looked into my eyes and I noticed his. They were black. Dark brown actually, but they were so dark that they could be mistaken for black. He smiled and said in a husky voice:

"It's okay, love, I'll do it." My heart skipped a beat and I watched him as he stood up, handing us both glasses. Alicia just looked at me and I could see that she blushed. She really liked him.

"Where did you get all these glasses from?" She said in a very light voice.

He just looked at her, not really paying attention. He smirked and said:

"I knocked down the waiter, took the tray and ran off." She giggled and I couldn't believe her. I'd never seen her like this before, acting all weird and shit, just because of a guy. But instead of wondering about that, I looked at him.

"Really?" I said sarcastically and raised an eyebrow. "You knocked him down?"

He looked at me with his black eyes again and smirked a bit. I noticed he had high cheekbones and a rather narrow face. His lips formed an 'o' and he said:

"Oh, you don't believe me, miss..?" I could hear the sarcasm in his voice and it actually made me frustrated.

"McCormack" I answered. "Marilyn McCormack, and no, I don't believe you mister..?"

"Malik. Zayn Malik."

I opened my eyes again, since I realized I'd closed them. I saw the sun trying to come out behind the dark grey clouds, but it wouldn't make it. It was too cloudy for the sun to break through. This was a very sad day. It was for many reasons. I took a deep breath again and stepped even closer to the edge of the cliff. This is it. This is where I disappear. I closed my eyes, lifted one foot up in the air, ready to take the step.

"STOP!" I heard somebody scream behind me. I sat my foot down and opened my eyes. I quickly turned around to see a pair of dark chocolate brown eyes staring deep into mine.
