The Padded Rooms

"My life is a pit, a bottomless, dark, swirling pit. I dont know who i am anymore. She torments me, she comes in at night and talks to me, about my life. I cant take it....Kill me" The man looked up, his face was guant. "Kill me, i dont want to live anymore. Not with her...NOT WITH HER!" He sprang from his corner, death in his eyes, and lunged for my throat...

The Asylum was always run down. Since 1950 it had been shut down. But something is stirring in its depths. A dark soul, a tortured mind. A ghost with a vendetta. As head of the paranormal research team, Danielle Reaver and her squad have to identify what it is that is making the mad house go bump during the night. Or will she be captured as so many others have before.

1. Readiness

I woke up that morning with a gut feeling that by eight 'o'clock tonight my life would've gone to hell. My alarm was buzzing. I turned over and slapped it off, rubbing my eyes. The sun blared in through the windows, 'Shame,' i thought 'such a nice day too,'. Yawning, I got out of bed, stretching, headed for the bathroom. I caught a glimpse of myself as i ran my shower. I looked normal, but something seemed off, like i wasnt myself today. I shrugged off the feeling and got into the shower, silently thanking god for hot water. I washed then got out, wrapping a towel around myself, just as Edi walked in, meowing. Edi was my 2 month old kitten, and craved attention. All. The. Time. I rolled my eyes,"Come on, your foods this way," he trotted out after me, and stared lazily out of the window as i got dressed, simple shirt, dark jeans, then fed him, my hair still damp. He purred happily. I rolled my eyes again. There was a knock at the door. For some reason it made me jump.

I answered the door to my neighbouring apartment owner. "Morning D," as he so often calls me, "You need a cat sitter?" I nodded, letting him in. "Well good morning to you too princess," he smirked as he waltzed in. Alexander Brent had been my neighbour for about two years now, and he was not like any regular guy. Well he was a guy, well toned, not bad to look at, but he had a weird way of looking at me. You would think that two years knowing me he'd try to put a move on me, but nope, he just looks after Edi. "Be quiet Alex, i have to start in less than four hours," I sighed, pushing him, he flashed his famous smile. "You know I'm kidding," he said, lifting up Edi stroking his head. "You got a case?" He asked flopping down on MY leather sofa and flicking on MY tv, with Edi sprawling over his lap. I nodded, "Yeah, apparently an asylum outside of town has been emmiting some seriously bad paranormal signals. So naturally they called me first." He turned from look at the tv, "Hey, you be careful, god knows whats in that place, I've heard they shut the place down years ago because of the amount of crazy stuff that happened in there," He warned,

"I'll be fine, I'm sure i will," I grabbed my bag with all my things in, picked up my keys and headed out, but not before Alex stopped me by saying, "There's something you should know about that place,"

I turned "What is it?" I asked,

"The patients in the asylum,"

"What about them?"

"They all died...and they all wrote on the walls in their own blood,"

"What did they write?"

"She is watching,"
