Is there reasons for everything?

1. Chapter One

We were running along the fields. He was always a few feet infront of me, but still I kept running. I was always trying to keep up with him. It was hard though. My small eight year old legs against his ten year olds. Since I was five, every summer I had been playing with him. But this year it felt like I had lost him. The only thing he wanted to talk about was this girl Amber from his class. My dreams and hopes for the summer was broken. Since the midst of April I had looked forward to building caves with him all the time. Instead I had been locked up in my room reading the Harry Potter series again and again, while he was chasing that stupid girl.

"I love you Skye. I really do."

"I don't know. I barely know you. Eight years ago you ran out of my life. You acted like you didn't even know my name." I murmured.

"It was a mistake. You know that."

"No I don't, I don't know anything at all. So instead of saying I do, tell me the facts. Tell me why you acted like you did."

The hurt was shining through my voice, and tears were beginning to form in my eyes. He couldn't even meet my gaze.

I walked away. Walked away from my feelings. Remembering that day in late August one year ago.

I was sitting against my favorite tree, looking at the water in the pond in front of me. The sun was going down, making the pond purpleish. It was so peaceful. Everything was quiet, even the birds. At about nine o'clock, I decided to go home. Before I reached far a moan made me stop.

"Oh god. Yes. Harder."

I could feel my cheeks burn from the realization of what was happening so very close to me. A part of me wanted to leave, but I just couldn't make my legs move. Not in the right direction that is. So I slowly went closer to the sounds only to see a girl bouncing up and down on top of him. I ran, whilst tears were drowning my eyes, running down my cheeks.
