Bloodless Veins

The feeling of entrapment and the need to be released.

1. Bloodless Veins

Small metal cuffs were made

So that even my knuckles were not free.

This is why I write with my mind

And not by the rules of literacy.

The metal is eroding

And it deepens the wrinkles that cut my skin.

Little paths of wisdom

that reveals the fate that lies within.

My mind is this sheet of paper

this ink is the blood that surrounds my bones

You are the cuffs that trap me

The voice that silences the groans.

Can you hear my heart slowing?

It's because of these bloodless veins

I've left the key where you left me,

Come and release me from these chains.
